How to download images from google to phone

First of all, let’s try to understand how to download images from Google to your mobile phone by putting into practice the, let’s say, classic procedure, or rather the one that can be performed from any browser for mobile devices by connecting to the famous search engine. The steps to take are pretty much the same on both Android and iOS/iPadOS . So let’s see in detail how to proceed.

To succeed in your intent, the first step you need to take is to grab your device, unlock it, access the home screen and touch the icon of the browser you usually use to surf the web from mobile (e.g. Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS).

Alternatively, you can use the Google app , which you can download and install from the relevant section of the Android Play Store and from the relevant section of the iOS/iPadOS App Store by following the usual procedure (if it’s not already present on your device, of course ). After that, launch it.

Now, regardless of whether you are using the browser or the app, go to the Google home page , then tap on the item Images located at the top and fill in the search field in the center of the screen by typing in the keywords reference to find images of your interest (if you want, you can help yourself with the search suggestions that you see appear), then press the key to start the search that you see appear on the virtual keyboard of the device.

On the page that will subsequently be shown to you, you will find all the images resulting from the search. If you deem it necessary, you can refine the display of the results using the filters, by tapping the icon with the bars and cursors located at the top left and deciding, from the menu that appears, whether to display only the most recent images, GIFs, clips art, those in HD, those with a predominance of a specific color and those with specific rights of use.

Also at the top of the screen, you will also find a series of terms possibly related to your search that can further help you to view only specific types of images.

When you find an image that interests you and that you would like to download to your device, to do so, tap on it to enlarge it, then make a long press on it and touch the wording Download image on Android and Save image on iOS/iPadOS from menu that is shown to you.

If before downloading the image you want to visit the site that hosts it, tap the Visit button visible on the screen above. You will eventually be able to download the image directly from the reference site, proceeding in the same way as I indicated above.

At this point, all you have to do is go back to the home screen and tap on the Gallery app icon on Android and the Photos app icon on iOS / iPadOS to view the image you just downloaded from Google. You’ll find it by opening the Downloads album on Android and Recents on iOS/iPadOS.

Keep in mind that you can download all the images found on Google to your mobile phone, but as regards their use for this or that other purpose, it is essential that you take into account the rights of use, which are divided into three different typologies. For more details on this, I invite you to refer to the appropriate page attached to the Google online guide.

Other solutions to download images from Google to mobile

As I told you at the beginning, as well as using the browser you usually use to surf the web from mobile, you can also load images from Google on your mobile using other solutions . I’m referring to apps for Android and iOS/iPadOS specifically designed for downloading photos from the Web. To find out more, continue reading.

Total (Android/iOS/iPadOS)

The first useful alternative solution to download images from Google to your mobile phone that I invite you to consider is Total . It is a download manager for Android and iOS / iPadOS including a browser and which allows you to search for practically any kind of file, including images, through Google (and not only) and to easily download them locally. It’s easy to use and it’s free, but in-app purchases (costing 5.99 euros) are offered to unlock extra features.

To use Total, download and install the app on your device by proceeding as follows: if you are using Android , access the relevant section of the Play Store and press the Install button (or go to alternative stores ); if you are using iOS/iPadOS , access the relevant section of the App Store , press the Get button , then the Install button and authorize the download using Face ID , Touch ID or Apple ID password .

Subsequently, start Total by touching its icon that has been added to the home screen and when you view the main screen accept the terms of services, then write the keywords related to the image to download in the address bar of the browser and press the button to execute research.

After completing the above steps, tap on the image you are interested in to view it enlarged, then make a long tap on it and select the option Download image from the menu that appears.

At this point, indicate the location where you want to save the image on the device and proceed with the download by tapping on the word Download here in the upper right corner. Once the download is complete, you will find the photo in the position specified above. For more details, you can refer to my specific guide on how to use Total .

Do you use an Android device and are you looking for an alternative system to what has already been suggested to be able to download images from Google to your mobile phone? Then I can’t help but invite you to try the Image Search app . It’s free and, as the name itself suggests, allows you to search for images on the net (therefore also on Google) in an incredibly simple way and immediately download them to the device used.

To use Image Search, download and install the app from the relevant section of the Play Store by putting into practice the usual procedure (or go to alternative stores ), then start it.

Once the Image Search main screen is displayed, type the reference search term in the appropriate text field and press the button to start the search that you see appear on the virtual keyboard (if you want, you can help yourself with the search suggestions that automatic). If you wish, after having carried out the search, you can refine the visualization of the results by pressing on the gear on the right and indicating which images you wish to include, what colour, etc.

In the screen that you will then see appear, you will be shown all the images from Google that respond to the keywords typed previously. Press, therefore, on the preview of the image you want to download and, on the following screen, tap the button with the arrow pointing downwards that you find below it. Done! You will then find the photo in the device gallery, in the Download album .
