How to download and install the latest version from Google Play Store

If you are a user of an Android mobile, you surely know the application with which we download the rest of the applications, Google Play Store. All the applications on our mobile are updated through Google Play, but sometimes you may have asked yourself the question, How is the Google Play Store updated? Next, we will tell you how to download and update the Google store.

The procedure we have to do to update the Google application store is not the same as we do when we update the rest of the apps on our mobile, so it is important that you follow the steps that you will see during this article.

By having an Android mobile we have by right access to Google Play services and that the Google Play Store is directly related to these services , so when they are updated automatically, the version of Google Play on your mobile should be updated, but if this does not happen we will tell you how to update it.

Google Play Points: what it is and how it works

Check the current version of Google Play Store

The first step that we will have to do is to know the version of Google Play that is installed on our mobile, for this we recommend that you follow these steps:

  • Access the system settings.
  • Now look for the “Applications” section .
  • Select “Google Play Store” .
  • A number will appear under the name or at the bottom, type “2.15.20” as we can see in the image.

There is no official way to know the latest version of Google Play , but we can check the APKMirror repository to find out the latest version available, as they tend to update them very often and we can check it.

Get the latest version available from the Google Play Store

Once we have checked the version we have on our mobile and if we have checked that we have a previous version, we will have to follow these steps to download and update the Google Play Store on our mobile:

  • The first step will be to access the Google Play app.
  • Once inside we will have to click on the icon of our profile image , located in the upper left.
  • Now we will look for the option “Settings” .
  • We will see a series of drop-down sections, we will select “Information” .
  • At the last point we can see the version we have and we will have to click on it to check the updates.
  • Two things can happen: one of them is that a message appears in which it will tell you that your version of Google Play is updated and another in which it will be updated to the latest version.

What if the above doesn’t work?

There are times when the cache memory of the applications remains in a residual way in our mobile so it can prevent the latest versions of it from being obtained, so we will have to follow these steps to erase the data of the app and the cache memory :

  • Access the system settings.
  • Follow the steps that we tell you at the beginning.
  • Look for “Storage .
  • When you get to the information section of the Google Play Store, look for and press “Clear data” and “Clear cache.”

You should know that you will not lose any application that you already have installed on your mobile, so this step can be done without fear.

Now, once the data is erased, the next time you access Google Play, you will force the download of the new latest version of the app so that you can have the most current version of Google Play.

You have already verified that the process to download and update the Google application store, Google Play Store has other update methods, but it is something that we must do sometime to verify it.
