How to clear browsing history on Chrome

For those who use the Google Chrome Internet browser, they must follow the following steps to clear the browsing history:

  • Open your internet browser.
  • Click in the upper-right corner on the menu and then click on History.
  • From the top-left corner of the new menu, select the Clear Browsing Data option.
  • Next to Time interval you will have to select the period of history you want to delete. To delete all history click on Always. If you want to delete only certain items in the history, check Browsing history, uncheck the other data you don’t want to delete.
  • Click on Clear data.

How to clear browsing history on Mozilla Firefox

If you use the Mozilla Firefox Internet browser, you must follow the steps to delete your browsing history:

  • From the top of the Firefox window, you must click on the Firefox Tools button.
  • Go over the History menu and select the Clear recent history option.
  • Then, click on the “drop down” menu and set Period to clean to choose what information the browser should delete from the history and for what period.
  • Click the Clean Now button, and Firefox will delete all the items you’ve selected to delete.

How to clear browsing history on Safari

If you own a Macbook, you automatically use the Safari browser, and to delete the browsing history you must follow the steps:

  • Open the Safari app
  • Click on the Safari tab from the top menu bar and a new window will appear.
  • Select the Reset Safari option.
  • From the list of items that will be displayed on your screen, you will have to select what you want to delete from the browsing history.
  • Click on the Reset button at the bottom right.

How to clear browsing history on Microsoft Edge

If you use the Microsoft Edge internet browser, you must follow the steps to clear your browsing history:

  • Open Microsoft Edge.
  • Select More settings, then Settings.
  • Click on Privacy, search and services.
  • Under Clear Browsing Data select Choose which data to clear.
  • Choose a time range from the Time Range drop-down menu. Choose the elements you want to delete (browsing history, cookies, etc.), but keep the passwords and data ofyour e-mail, social network or website accounts.
  • Click Empty now.

Browse privately

If you don’t want Google Chrome to track your activity, you can browse the web privately in incognito mode . For those using the Google Chrome internet browser, they must follow the steps to enable incognito mode:

  • Open Chrome.
  • At the top right, click More and then New Incognito Window.
  • A new window is displayed. In the top corner, look for the Incognito icon.
  • You can also use a keyboard shortcut to open an incognito window. For Windows, Linux, or Chrome OS: Press Ctrl + Shift + n. For Mac: Press ⌘ + Shift + n.
  • You can switch between incognito windows and normal Chrome windows. You will only browse in private mode when using an incognito window. Additionally, you can choose to block third-party cookies when you open a new incognito window.

Close incognito mode to stop private browsing

Incognito mode runs in a separate window from normal Chrome windows. If you have an incognito window open and open another one, your private browsing session will continue in the new window. To exit incognito mode, close all incognito windows. If you see a number next to the incognito icon in the top right, you have multiple incognito windows open.
