HOW TO DELETE A MESSAGE SENT ON WHATSAPP

1. Select the message SENT (phrase, photo and / or video)
2. Click on it and select the BASKET symbol
3. Select the option “delete for all” WITHIN 7 MINUTES (or  68 minutes and 16 seconds, soon available for all) ofsending
4. The recipient will receive the notification“This message has been deleted” (so they will know that you have sent a message and then you have deleted it).

DELETE THE MESSAGE: DOES IT ALWAYS WORK?

Unfortunately not , for several (obvious) reasons:

• THE MESSAGE HAS BEEN READ IMMEDIATELY : this can happen if the recipient of your message is online and / or is chatting with you and / or has previewed the message on the mobile notifications. In this case, you can always delete the message from the chat, eliminating at least its existence.
• IF THE RECIPIENT SAVES PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ON THE MOBILE PHONE : in this case you can delete the photo / video sent so that it disappears from the chat, but if the recipient has set the possibility to AUTOMATICALLY save all the contents received in the chat, these will appear in his camera roll.
• If you have NOT downloaded the latest version of WhatsApp , you will not be able to delete sent messages!

DELETE FOR ALL OR DELETE FOR ME?

Here we explain the difference between the “Delete for all” and “Delete for me” functions . When you select a message to delete, you will notice these two different entries.

DELETE FOR ALL> the message will disappear from both your chat and the recipient’s.

DELETE FOR ME> if, for example, you have space problems on your mobile phone and you want to delete a particularly long audio without deleting the entire chat, you can decide to delete the content in question ONLY FOR YOU.

WHY DELETE A SENT MESSAGE?

You may feel the need to delete a message (text / photo / video) for several reasons, including:

• DO NOT LET the recipient READ / DISPLAY it because maybe you sent it – for example – in a moment of anger, sadness, impulsiveness. You made a serious mistake and / or you realized that you wrote something wrong.
