How to create 3D effect spheres decorated with symbols in Adobe Illustrator

If we waste time, let’s start   creating spheres with a 3D effect decorated with symbols in Adobe Illustrator. And for this, we must create the symbols that we will later use to be able to map the illustration. It is important to keep in mind that in order to fill an object with the 3D effect of an image, that image must be archived in the symbols panel.

We can create this symbol in the way that we like or convenient, we suggest that you do it on a complete sheet and be large, so that it can cover the entire sphere. But as we have already told you, you can do it the way you like best. Next we will show you how to make one in the following example that will cover the entire sheet.

We will go to the tools menu and select the Rectangles Tool option and create one from the upper corner to the lower corner of the same side. This can be a centimeter wide, now we duplicate it and hold the Alt key, and bring it to the other side of the sheet.

These two rectangles can add or change the color , then in fact this, we choose the selection tool to make several specific rectangles.

Now we double click and a box will appear, where we are going to specify that they have 15 separation. We click on the Preview option and then OK, now we will have several colored stripes on our sheet.

These will be the color we choose and the color white, now we go to the main menu and choose the Object tab. Then we select the option Fusion and then Expand, so that the rectangles are individually. Now we go to the Effect tab, click, then Fuck and then the Inner Glow option.

Then in the window of this option we click on Preview and then on Ok, now we rotate our image 45 degrees. And finally we are going to drag it to the symbols panel, add a name and click on the Ok option. Now we erase this image from the sheet, we are going to create the spheres, for this we go to the tool panel and choose Ellipse.

We create a circle on the sheet, then we set the fill color as the outline color, then we select the direct selection tool. To suppress half the circle and get a semicircle, then we copy it two or three times. We select the first semicircle, then we go to effect, then we select the 3D option and finally Rotate.

Then the rotation options window will be displayed and we click on the Preview option and also select the Map illustration option . And in symbols we are going to look for the symbol that we created in the first part of the tutorial. And now we click on the Change scale to adjust option.

We can also select the Invisible Geometry option to see how our sphere looks , in the dialog window we can rotate the symbol so that it is the way we want. When you are finished you must click on the Ok option twice. And in this way we have created spheres with a 3D effect decorated with symbols in Adobe Illustrator.
