How to convert Microsoft Office files to Google Docs

Both Microsoft Office and Google Docs are widely used to create spreadsheets and documents. Both softwares have their pros and cons, and the choice between the two programs mainly depends on your type of work and use. Microsoft Office files, such as Word and Excel sheets, are widely used because of the powerful formatting tools and advanced formatting features you need to create professional-looking documents.

While Microsoft Office requires you to be an Office 365 subscriber, Google Docs and Google Sheets, on the other hand, are completely free to use. While the document processing capabilities in Google Docs are not as rich as in Microsoft Office, Google Docs does a great job with accessibility, which gives you the ability to edit documents online while away from your desktop. What’s more, unlike Office files, Google Docs can open any other file format.

If you want to import Microsoft Office files into a productivity suite from Google, then you’ve come to the right place. You can convert Microsoft Office files such as Word documents, Excel sheets, and PowerPoint to Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides, respectively, using Google Drive.
