1. Use an adapter cable
Does your computer screen have a different input than your laptop? Then you may decide to buy another monitor. This is an option, but it will cost you unnecessarily a lot of money. One side of this cable has a VGA connection including a 3.5 mm Jack, while the other side has an HDMI connection.

The adapters are also available in different shapes and sizes. For example, you can buy a black adapter, but also a white one. In addition, the adapters differ from each other in dimensions.
3. Don’t forget the audio cable
Many people use an HDMI to VGA adapter to connect a VGA monitor to an HDMI port. Before you buy this cable, you should know that a single image can be sent via a VGA cable. Do you also want sound to be sent along? Then you also need an audio cable. You may prefer a digital audio cable. Unfortunately this is not possible. Why not? Because an HDMI to VGA adapter only has an input for a 3.5 mm Jack. Are you buying an optical cable ? Then you cannot connect it to the adapter. In this case, only image will be sent and no sound will be sent. Do you already have such an optical cable at home? Then you can buy an adapter cable to 3.5 mm Jack for this and connect it to the adapter.
