How to connect the Galaxy Buds to Windows

If we have Samsung Galaxy Buds headphones, we may want to connect them to Windows taking advantage of all its functions. Windows’ standard Bluetooth connection does not allow many features to be configured, and Samsung does not have a PC app to remedy this.

Luckily, a user has created an unofficial Windows app to connect the Galaxy Buds, which offers us total control of the headphones from the PC , with the same possibilities as the official Galaxy Wear application for Android and iOS.

It’s called Galaxy Buds Manager (the project itself is called GalaxyBudsClient) and despite being free , it works very well, and even has a neat interface with a design similar to that used by Samsung.

Your options include controlling active noise cancellation (ANC), ambient mode, switching touch touches (with more options than the official ones), sound equalizer, and beeping location.

We will also see the exact battery level of each earphone and the charging case, that is, all the functions of the official Galaxy Wear app . It even incorporates extras, as Windows keyboard shortcuts can be configured for certain actions.

The only thing that is not supported are OTA updates that add new functions, to avoid possible damage to the Galaxy Buds. When updating them, the developer advises connecting the headphones to a mobile with the original Samsung application.

We have tried to connect the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro , and with this system its use in Windows is much more comfortable. The steps, identical for all models, are as follows:

We need to download the program’s .exe installer file , we can also access the project website to choose a version for Linux or request new functions:

We will install Galaxy Buds Manager as a normal program, although when starting a Windows SmartScreen warning it will tell us that it comes from an unknown publisher. We will click on “More information” and then on ” Run anyway” to continue:

The creator of the program is aware that this notice does not generate much confidence, but a certificate confirming his identity cannot be allowed, as he works on this non-profit project.
Now we will open the Galaxy Buds Manager program that has been installed in Windows, on the initial screen we will choose the language (translated by volunteers) and if we want to use the dark mode:
