How to install a tumble dryer: 3 ways of placement
Next, we will analyze the vertical, horizontal arrangement and under the countertop.
Vertical placement
Ideal for small apartment areas. The dryer is mounted upright in a column with a washing machine. Both fixtures should be the same width for good stability. During installation, the dryer should be above the washer and not vice versa. The wash is heavier and produces more vibration during washing.
Installation is carried out using fasteners (included). They make the tumble dryer stationary, protect it from overturning, and the washer from vibration damage.

- place the washer on a flat plane, leaving a couple of centimeters from the wall (due to its vibration characteristics);

Horizontal installation

Installation of a condensing dryer
The installation of a condensing dryer is suitable for rooms with a weak ventilation system due to the nature of the technology.
The principle of operation is based on “three pillars”:
- warm air under pressure is directed into the drum, which is in a rotating state;
- air draws moisture from the laundry, and then goes to the heat exchanger; here it cools down, turns into condensate, draining into a container.
The moisture must be drained after each use. Therefore, the stale air in the room is the optimal solution for condensing machines. In a draft, the dryer spends more energy.
Models such as Candy are easy to install and do not require outlet tubes. They can be installed on the floor, built into a wardrobe, a column, or installed on a washing machine.
Instructions:
- Disconnect the electricity supply.
- Either take a separate line from the electrical panel, or resort to using a grounded outlet.
- Protect the mains from current leakage (RCD). Connect a 16A RCD and the same machine to the dashboard. An automatic switch is needed for the unit in order to protect the drying from breakage during power surges.
- With dry hands, connect the dryer to the electrical outlet.
Attention : it is not recommended to turn on the washer and dryer in the same double outlet. Possible risk of melting and short-circuiting of the socket.

Installation of an exhaust dryer

The principle of operation is not complicated: the laundry in the drum is treated with air (hot). Then the air is discharged through the corrugation tube.

- The flexible tube engages with the vent on the side of the dryer body.
- To tie the tube, use the clamp by tightening it with a screwdriver, using pliers – clamp it at the end until it stops.
- The second end of the corrugation goes to the central ventilation system. The confluence must be secured with a clamp. The height at which the tube can be in the outlet should not be less than 0.5 m.
- Then switch on the dryer for a test run.
Attention : you do not need to bend and turn the corrugation 90 degrees, otherwise the hood will work weakly, poorly removing humidified air.
It is contraindicated to remove the air duct through the top if there is an increased degree of heat in the place where the dryer will be installed. Risk: Condensation build-up preventing air discharge. The correct solution is a wall hole opposite the outlet from the dryer.
The placement of dryers with built-in powerful fans provides for the removal of the branch pipe through the window (if it is not possible to connect to the ventilation shaft).

Installing a heat pump dryer
The function is similar to the condensing type. The difference is in humid air. Passes through the evaporator – further into the sewer pipes, without moisture residues in the tray. The drain pipe will be needed as a connection to the sewer.
Connecting a dryer with a heat pump.
- The manufacturer provides for fixing the tube at one end in the body of the equipment (as in the washer).
- The second end is connected to the sewer (or installed in the toilet, sink).
It is possible to prevent water seepage during the connection using a tee (it is built into a plastic drain pipe). The thickness of the hose and pipe of the tee must be the same size.
Attention : to merge the pipe with the hose, it is worth using a plastic tip. A metal clamp with a rubber gasket is suitable for fastening. It will be needed to avoid damage to the tube.
This method of connection increases the operational life of the equipment. Removing excess water prevents corrosion of metal elements and rubber deterioration.
