How to configure Safari to open the new tabs in the foreground

When we surf the internet there are many tabs that we can open. In general, when we browse a site with several links, we can click on them to open them in different tabs in the background that we will later consult . Alternatively we can configure Safari so that, when we open a new tab, it will automatically become the active tab.

The importance of tabs and how to open them

The management of tabs, and in general the browsing habits on the web, are quite personal, so having options for Safari to adapt to our needs is always welcome. By default, the system is as follows: when we open a new tab on the iPhone, it becomes the active tab; when we do it on the iPad and the Mac, it remains in the background.

On the iPhone it is not possible to change this setting , however, on the Mac and iPad it is. We can do it by following these steps:

  1. We open Safarion our Mac.
  2. In the Safarimenu we choose Preferences .
  3. We enter the tab Tabs.
  4. We activate or deactivate When a new tab or window is opened, put it in the foreground.

On the iPad the system is very similar , we will do it like this:

  1. We open the Settingsapp on our iPad.
  2. We enter Safari.
  3. We deactivate or activate Open new tabs in 2D.

As simple as that. With this setting we can configure Safari on our devices to manage the new tabs exactly as it suits us best. And if at some point we change our mind, just repeat the previous steps and change the setting again .

IN APPLESFERA

So we can configure or deactivate the notifications of the Shortcuts app on our iPhone or iPad

It is clear that we all have our way of browsing the web. Either so that both the iPhone, the iPad and the Mac behave the same with the new tabs, or to adapt to our usage habits, if we need it like this we can change the way in which the new tabs are opened.
