How to complete Old Brigadier’s Treasure in Honkai: Star Rail

Who stole the detector – a cook, an assistant, a dressmaker or a merchant?

Honkai: Star Rail has dozens of side quests, including adventure missions, daily missions, and companion quests where the Pathfinder helps minor characters. One of the more interesting side quests is the Old Brigadier’s Treasure quest, during which players investigate the disappearance of Father Hook’s detector.

How to complete Old Brigadier's Treasure in Honkai: Star Rail

In this guide, we will tell you how to start, complete the task and apprehend the real thief.

How to start the quest “Old Brigadier’s Treasure”

The first part of Hook’s companion mission “Old Brigadier’s Treasure” becomes available after completing the story mission “Lying in the Rust” and leveling up to Mastery level 16. After that, Julian, one of Hook’s friends, will contact you by phone. And so the task will begin.

Go to Kamnegrad on Yarilo VI and talk to the boy. He will express concern for the condition of his boss Hook, who went alone to the Big Mine and forbade anyone to help her. The situation is potentially dangerous, so Julian asks the Pathfinder for help.

I asked Hook

Travel to the Big Mine and move towards the blue marker on the map, which will lead to the Hook. Interact with the girl, and then defeat several Tramps. After completing the battle, chat with her and her father.

Teleport to the spatial anchor “Natasha’s Clinic” in Kamnegrad on Yarilo-VI, talk to Natasha and ask about Fersman’s condition. Exit the clinic and talk to Hook about the stolen detector.

Who stole the detector?

Teleport to the dimensional anchor in the Big Mine Rogue hideout and talk to Hook and the other girl standing near the tents. During the conversation, you will learn that four people remained in the mine – the Cook, the Dressmaker, the Assistant and the Merchant. You need to interrogate each of them:

  • Cook. Claims that he went for goods, and he does not blame Fersman for what he did with the booty. It is also recommended to pay attention to the suspicious Assistant, who was in Fersman’s tent and left it with some kind of box.
  • Dressmaker. She didn’t see anything, she accuses Fersman of greed, but she didn’t know about the detector at all.
  • Assistant. Nervous, but swears he didn’t steal anything. At the same time, he was not doing anything during the theft, he was in the fresh air. He does not want to speak for Fersman.
  • Merchant. Convince him to speak (you will have to use force) and he will say that he was in the city and bought supplies. Recommends to pay attention to the cook.

After talking to all four people, you will automatically return to Sveta, who will summarize the conclusions and ask you to choose a suspect. The correct answer is Cook. Why? It’s simple: Sveta claims that of all these testimonies, only one character is lying. If the Cook is not lying and says that the assistant did it, then the assistant is lying, who claims that he did not do it. But at the same time, the Merchant points to the Cook, which means he is also lying. But the conditions are such that only one character is lying. Apply the same, but take the Merchant’s words as truth. And then everything comes together!

After selecting him, you will find that he has left his tent. Follow Hook and see the Chef trying to sell the stolen detector to Sampo. In any case, you will have to win the battle with the Tramps.

After that, travel to Kamnegrad and interact with Balaway to evaluate the detector. Finally, return to Fersman at Natasha’s clinic and tell about the events that took place. The quest will complete and you will receive the following as a reward:

  • 350 Mastery XP
  • 60 Star Jade
  • 6 Adventure Logs
  • 200 Shields (special currency on Yarilo-VI)
  • 20,000 credits

By the way, if you point to another person, and not the Cook, then just complicate your task. You will have to collect a little more evidence, but in the end, you will definitely go out to the Cook, defeat him in battle and return the detector.
