The Farone Sky is a very difficult region to access in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , as there are many clouds and storms around. On this page of our Tears of the Kingdom guide we tell you how to enter the Farone Sky Islands and how to remove the storm clouds :

How to clear the storm on Thunderhead Isles.

Whether you’re exploring on your own or trying to find all the Shrines , you’re sure to have encountered one major obstacle in the Farone Sky : the massive storm that completely surrounds a series of flying islands .

These storm clouds are removed as part of the Main Quest called The Secret of the Ring Ruins . This Main Quest is only accessible once we have completed Investigate the Strange Occurrences , which consists of completing the Quests of Tureli , Yunobo , Sidon and Riju . One of the steps of The Secret of the Ring Ruins is to obtain the Set of the Spark , and with it equipped , deposit a Zonnan Energy Sphere on a specific altar . All this is done at the Drako Lake and the Drako River, in Farone :

  1. Io’qoum Sanctuary (0867, -2280, 0141).
  2. First tower: Loriga de la Centella (0974, -2533, 0008).
  3. Second tower: Centella dam (0982, -2690, 0007).
  4. Third tower: Centella’s Headdress (0966, -2797, 0007).
  5. Tower with an altar in which to deposit a Zonnan Energy Sphere (0689, -2744, 0014).

Once you have obtained all three items of the Spark Set (the Spark Headdress, the Spark Cuirass, and the Spark Pants), equip them and go to the Materials tab of your inventory to pick up a Zonnan Energy Sphere . Exit your inventory and place the Zonnan Energy Sphere on the altar .

This is what allows us to clear the storm clouds from the Thunder Isles and Dragonhead Island in Farone’s Sky:With a clear sky in the area we can explore the islands freely . Technically, they can be explored with the clouds but visibility is extremely reduced , which makes it practically impossible to advance through them.
