Your Google Pixel 4A gives you several different options to sign in to your device, one of which is a PIN. This PIN can be multiple numbers and provides an extra layer of security if someone tries to log into your phone. When you first purchased and set up the Pixel 4A, you made several choices regarding the security of your device. If you chose to use a PIN to unlock your device, you entered it during this process.
But if other people know your PIN, or if you want to use a longer or shorter series of numbers, you might be wondering how to switch from your current PIN to another.

How to change PIN on Google Pixel 4A
- Open the application menu.
- Select “Settings”.
- Select Security.
- Touch screen lock.
- Enter your current PIN.
- Tap PIN.
- Enter a new PIN.
- Enter the new PIN again to confirm.

How to set a new PIN on Google Pixel 4A (Guide with pictures)
The steps in this article were performed on a Google Pixel 4A running Android 11.
Step 1. Swipe up on the home screen to open the applications menu.
Step 2: Select the “Settings” option.
Step 3: Select the “Security” option.
Step 4: Tap the screen lock option.
Note that “PIN” should be written here to indicate that you are using a PIN as your current screen lock method.
Step 5: Enter the current device PIN.
Step 6: Click on the PIN option.
If you would like to use a different method to unlock the screen, you can select that option from this menu.
Step 7: Enter the new PIN that you want to use.
Step 8: Enter the new PIN again to confirm it.
Now, the next time you unlock your Pixel screen, it will require the new PIN you just created.

When you open the screen lock menu after entering your current PIN, you will see several different options that you can use as a way to unlock the screen. These options include:
- Nobody
- Swipe your finger across the screen
- Sample
- PIN
- Password
If you prefer to use one of these options instead of your PIN, you can choose this option.
Your Google Pixel 4A PIN must be at least 4 digits and no more than 17 digits.
You can manually lock your device by pressing the power button on the right side.
If you’d like to adjust how long the Pixel 4A waits before locking, you can go to Settings> Display> Advanced> Screen Timeout. This is a good setting if you think the screen turns off too quickly or waits too long before automatically locking.
