Apple ID plays an important role for the user of the iPhone and other company devices. And the email address is an integral part of it. But what if you linked your Apple ID to your work email, and now you are forced to change jobs or lose your email address for another reason?
How to Change Your Apple ID Email Address?
In fact, it’s smart to link your Apple ID or any other important account to a personal email address, such as Gmail, from the very beginning. Then you won’t be at the mercy of your employer’s whims. However, you can always change your Apple ID email address. At the same time, just in case, I remind you of one of Apple’s rules: only one Apple ID account can be associated with each email address. Below is a step-by-step plan of action for updating your email address.
Check your email address
The first thing you need to do is make sure you have full access to your new email address, because if you try to make changes to your account, Apple will immediately send a confirmation email to it.
Log out
The next thing to do before updating your Apple ID email address is to sign out of all Apple services on all of your devices, including your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Make a change to your Apple ID
To replace your email address, do the following:
- Go to Settings and click on account information at the very top of the list
- Click on the top line of account information “Name, Phone Numbers, Email”.
- In the window that opens, click on the “Edit” link above your account information
- Delete your old email address and enter a new one
- Confirm the change by entering the code sent to your email account
Login again
To use Apple services (iCloud, iTunes, etc.), sign in again on all your devices.
Confirm your payment information
Once you have logged back into all services, it is recommended that you check the adequacy of your payment information. To do this, go back to Settings, open your Apple ID account at the top, select “Payment & Shipping” and change your email address in this block.
