- Some video options missing, reserved for DroidCam X, etc.
For occasional use, the free option does the job more than enough. If you can’t stand these little shortcomings, you have to purchase the app from the Google Play Store for US $ 5.50.
Honestly, if you’re interested, it’s pretty cheap to pay not to have ads and to have video support in high resolution 720p, or even 1080p.
The process to configure everything is not very complicated either. Even someone without much experience could easily do it. It is necessary :
- Download DroidCam or purchase DroidCam X from the Google Play Store.
- Download the DroidCam client for Windows or Linux.
- Once both apps are installed, open them on both devices.
- On Android, note the Wi-Fi IP and DroidCam port.
- On the computer, click on the Wi-Fi icon in the upper left corner.
- Enter the Wi-Fi IP and the port number in their respective fields and press Start.
