Below, in fact, I will explain to you in detail how to change the voice in call both on the smartphone, using some apps designed for the purpose, and on the computer, using a series of free programs. I guarantee you that the procedures I am about to tell you about are really within everyone’s reach, even those who, like you, are not exactly an expert in terms of technology!
Before moving on to the point, however, I believe it is my duty to make you a recommendation: use the information presented below in an appropriate manner, for play purposes only. Remember that even if you are able to “hide” your real voice, the probability of being able to trace your person, in case of extremely unpleasant jokes, is very high. How to change the voice in call: smartphone
There are several applications to change the voice on call on Android and iPhone : just start a phone call through the app of your choice and use the buttons proposed to alter your voice “on the fly”. Keep in mind that, in almost all cases, voice-impaired calls are made over the Internet.
Funcalls (Android)
The first application I want to talk to you about is Funcalls for Android, which is available on the Play Store and on alternative stores (for devices not equipped with Google services). This app allows you to alter the voice during phone calls in a very simple way. It can be downloaded for free and includes a demo to test the available effects but, in order to make calls, you need to purchase paid minutes, according to the following rates: € 3.19 for 7 minutes , € 4.69 for 20 minutes , 9 , € 49 for 45 minutes and € 18.99 for 100 minutes .
Furthermore, before explaining how to proceed, I believe it is my duty to point out that, according to the privacy conditions of the service, the main email address associated with the device will be sent to the Funcalls servers , as an account identifier. Furthermore, in order to function, the application requires access to the address book, phone calls and storage. In short, not exactly the best from the point of view of privacy. However, of apps working in this field that do not require similar permissions, there are not many.
Having made all the necessary clarifications, if you are really convinced that you need such an app, proceed as follows : first, open the store of your device, search for Funcalls using the appropriate function and, once identified the app, tap the Install button , to get it. So wait for the download and installation of Funcalls to be completed and tap the Open button to start it.
Now, put the check mark in the box next to the item I have read and approved the privacy policy , tap on the Approve button and allow the app to access your contacts, make and manage phone calls and access the contents in memory by touching the dedicated button several times.
Now, to get an idea of the available voices and effects, tap the Demo call button located at the bottom, in order to start a test call. To alter your voice, tap the Man button (if you want to disguise your voice using a male pitch) or the Funny button (for a “nasal voice” effect). The Regular button instead allows you to restore the normal voice.
Using the buttons located a little further down, you can generate nice sound effects instead. To end the test call, tap the red handset symbol at the bottom.
Once you understand how the app works, you are ready to start your first phone call: to purchase credits, tap the Get time button , tap on the price of the package of your interest and complete the transaction, authenticating via the biometric system (recognition face / fingerprint) or password of the configured account.
Once the purchase is complete, you will automatically return to the home screen of the app and the remaining talk time will be displayed in the top left. Now, to initiate a call, touch the keypad symbol at the bottom, select the initial effect to apply to your voice (a preview will be played immediately) and type the phone number of the recipient of the joke, in the appropriate field; or select the latter from the address book by touching the symbol of the little blue man on the side.
Now, move the lever above the word Record call to OFF , to avoid recording the call, and touch the handset symbol to start the call. During the conversation, you can change the tone of your voice or apply audio effects at any time, simply by touching the buttons on the screen. At the end of the conversation, tap the handset symbol down to hang up.
Note : The recipient of the call will see an international number, presumably English, in place of your actual mobile number.
Call Voice Changer – IntCall (iOS)
If, on the other hand, yours is an iPhone , you can use the Call Voice Changer – IntCall app : also in this case, the application is available for free but to be able to call it is essential to purchase conversation minutes. Pricing is as follows: $ 4.99 for 15 talk minutes, $ 9.99 for 35 talk minutes, and $ 19.99 for 80 minutes. However, it is possible to try the service for free for 2 minutes, without activating anything.
According to the terms of use of the app, personal information relating to the user (such as telephone number and e-mail address) are not sold or transferred to third parties, but are processed only for the purposes related to the use of the service. So consider carefully if you are willing to give up some privacy just to disguise the voice on the phone.
In any case, to download Call Voice Changer, connected to the dedicated section of the App Store , tap the Get button and authorize the download of the app by authenticating with Face ID , Touch ID or Apple ID password .
Once the download is complete, start the application by touching the Open button and, when it opens, choose whether or not to allow the sending of notifications , by tapping the appropriate button. Now, touch the Continue button and, to try the available effects, first touch the Demo button located at the bottom right and then the OK button , to authorize the app to use the microphone.
Now, wait for the initial short tutorial (in English) to play and, after the “beep”, start talking: to apply the effects on your voice, use the Low, Lowest, High and Highest buttons ; if you prefer, you can also play some sound effects using the buttons below.
After getting familiar with the effects, touch the End call button to end the demo, and use the keypad located on the app home screen to dial the number to call; then, press the Call button , enter your phone number in the appropriate field and tap the Go and OK buttons to register it (you only have to do it the first time).
After this step too, if necessary, press the Call button again , choose your initial voice by touching one of the proposed buttons and wait for the answer from the interlocutor. During the call, you can alter your voice or generate sound effects, exactly as seen previously for the demo.
When you’re done, tap the End call button to end the conversation; if the two-minute trial is not enough for you, tap the Buy button to purchase additional minutes.
To make a phone call, touch the handset symbol at the bottom left, tap the flag symbol to specify the international prefix to apply (presumably the Italian one) and dial the phone number using the buttons visible on the screen.
Note : The recipient of the call will see the phone number you registered with (presumably yours).

Would you like to change your voice during a call (or video call) made from your computer ? Well, that’s definitely doable – just use the right software!
Voxal Voice Changer (Windows / macOS)
One of the best programs designed for the purpose is Voxal Voice Changer , which allows you to alter your voice by applying around 50 different effects. The program is free for private or non-commercial use; for other purposes, you must purchase a regular use license, priced at $ 1.11 / month ** or $ 14.99 one-time fee .
To obtain it, connected to this website , click on the Download Now button and wait for the program installation package to be downloaded to your computer. When the download is complete, open the file obtained and, if you use Windows , click on the Yes and Download and install buttons in Italian .
Now, put the check mark next to the item I accept the license conditions (if not already there), click on the Next button and wait for the setup to be completed automatically. When finished, the program should open automatically.
If, on the other hand, yours is a Mac , after starting the file. dmg obtained previously, click on the Open (if necessary) and Agree buttons and use the window that appears to drag the program icon to the Mac Applications folder . Finally, open the program using the icon you just copied, or recalling it from the Launchpad .
The main screen of Voxal Voice changer is divided into two sections: the first, on the left, allows you to choose the effect to apply; the second, on the right, contains specific information about the applied distortion. To test an effect, click on its name, then on the Preview button (top) and, when ready, speak into the microphone to hear your voice again; to deactivate the audio preview, press the same button again. On Mac, you may need to authorize the use of the system microphone by clicking on the appropriate button.
To be able to apply the chosen effect, simply click on its name and, without closing the program, open the application for calls / video calls you are interested in using: the voice will be automatically distorted. To verify the correct application of the effects, open the Voxal window and check that, at the bottom, the words appear An application is using the microphone and Voxal is successfully applying the effect [name] to the audio stream .
If you wish, you can change the audio effects “on the fly” by simply calling up the Voxal window during the call and clicking on the name of the distortion you want; to return to your normal voice, simply close the program.
