How To Change mail app signature in Windows 10/8

The mail app in Windows 10/8 provides the signature ” Sent from Windows Mail ” by default . If you feel like this is a very simple signature and want to change it to your liking or drop it entirely, you can always edit it.

From the Windows Start screen, open the Mail app. Press Windows Key + C to open the Charms Bar and click Settings. Or, on a touchscreen device, swipe from the right edge to the left to display the charms bar. Or, you can also move your mouse to the bottom right corner to open the Charms bar. Or you can also go directly to Charms settings by pressing Windows key + I. There are many ways to bring up the Charms bar!

Now click on Accounts, and if you’ve set up multiple accounts, click on the account you want to change the signature for. Here the image only shows one account.

You will now see different options.

  1. Change the signature of the mail attachment
  2. Adding a signature to a Windows 10 mail app
  3. New mail download frequency
  4. The time when you can download email from

Change the signature of the mail attachment

Here you can edit the “Sent from Windows Mail” signature and enter the signature to your liking. You also have the option to move the Use Email Signature slider to None to turn off the signature display. After making changes, you can close Settings. The changes are immediate and there is no Save option as such.

Adding a signature to a Windows 10 mail app

You can now send personalized messages from the Mail app on Windows 10. Adding a signature is the only way to personalize emails, and the Mail app does the same. Go to Settings and click on Options. Scroll down to go to the Signature tab. Turn it on and add the signature initials you want to appear at the end of every email you send.

New mail download frequency

Plus, you also have options for when to download your mail. From the drop-down menu, you can choose, On a rolling basis, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, hourly, or manually.

The time when you can download email from

You can also set the duration at which to download emails, which is very helpful when setting up. You can choose 3 days, 7 days, 2 weeks, last month, or anytime.

This will be useful for those who are not familiar with Windows 8/10 and may not be sure where to access the various settings and options of the mail application
