In general, through the SPID service provider’s website you can change some of the information you provided during registration, including your identity document, without having to use an operator, but managing everything from home in complete autonomy. You can change the document associated with the SPID either if it has expired or if it is no longer valid for some other reason, for example you have lost it. But I remind you that when the document expires, the SPID is temporarily suspended , until you update it.
Furthermore, when you replace the identity document associated with the SPID, whatever the reason, your provider will in any case suspend, for a limited period of time, access to your digital identity, in order to verify the new document.
