How to beat Lord Vholran’s final boss in Tales of Arise

There are many bosses that must be defeated to get to this, but it is finally time to defeat Vholran once and for all in the final battle of the main story. It can be difficult to win right after the Great Astral Spirit, but we have some tips. Here’s how to beat Lord Vholran in the final Tales of Arise boss fight .

How to beat Lord Vholran’s final boss in Tales of Arise

If you followed our boss guide above, you should still have the Kitchen Elemental Defense stat boost right before the Great Astral Spirit and Subsumer fight. And that’s perfect for this one too.

Vholran uses all elements except light in this battle, but still uses water and ice for his most powerful attacks. This means that you can equip a garnet to reduce water damage by 50% for additional defense. Shock charms and gel charms are also great if you want to avoid getting crippled or frozen; the choice of accessory is up to you.

Lord Vholran Boss Final Phase 1

This is a one-on-one fight between Alphen and Vholran, and for the first time in the game you can wow a boss with normal attacks. Specifically, Vholran will stumble and be interrupted every time you use a Counter Edge counter after dodging the last second. So it’s time to reduce this time if you haven’t already.

Vholran uses the exact same attacks the boss fights on Dahna, so watch out for the swirling sword’s blows, his tornado, ice gushing from the ground, and surrounding electric orbs. All of these are fairly easy to dodge, despite the variety of moves. And you don’t even need Rinwell to interrupt his art casting here.

If you’re not comfortable dodging up close, you can wait and see what he will do by backing off and then dodging his attack. It always counts as a last second escape when you do this. Or use Alphen’s impulse attack to stop Vholran in his tracks and interrupt him at any time if he doesn’t go over the limit.

You may not have a healer, but remember that you can still use healing items if you have a problem. When Vholran’s health drops to 50%, a cutscene will play.

Lord Vholran Boss Final Phase 2

You can’t use items in this half of the fight, so things get a lot more difficult if you rely heavily on healing items. Vholran will begin this phase by freezing the ground. To avoid the ensuing giant ice attack, just move to the side and don’t stand in front of him at all.

If you are hit by his ice or electric attacks, you will be paralyzed or frozen, which is terrible for you here, since you will not be able to move and you are his only target. You can avoid them by playing it safe and waiting to see what he does before trying to hit him.

However, this fight is quite timed, in several respects. It will activate its mystical art that you have already seen in Dahna no matter what. The ice sword will fall from the sky and you will be able to survive if you dodge and attack Counter Edge again and again, like in the following video.

As soon as the icicles start to come out of the ground, dodge in any direction, then attack Vholran, then dodge. Do this in a loop at a steady pace until the movement is complete. After that, it is your turn to attack.

If you’re willing to play riskier stuff, the best way to beat Vholran is to constantly attack as you have unlimited Art Gauge (AG) and Boost Gauge (BG) so you can interrupt Vholran and put him in a loop where he can. ‘ I really attack you. Use a Boost Attack to bring him to his knees, attack steadily until he gets up again, then Boost again in an endless cycle.

Once Vholran’s health is low enough, his upper limit will automatically kick in. At this point, perform an art, then press and hold two art buttons to activate your mystical art and automatically end the fight.

Your Mystic Arte will take you to a long cutscene that will take you to the end of the main story. Now only optional high-level bosses remain!

This final boss fight is much more written than Dahna’s, but that’s all you need to know. how to beat Lord Vholran for the last time in Tales of Arise. Be sure to check out our wiki guide for more tips, tricks, and boss guides if you’re looking for a little more help.
