How to add friends on rocket league cross platform.The Rocket League developers announced that the next update of the game will be released on February 19, which will allow the creation of cross-platform teams and clubs. A list of friends will appear in the game, in which players can see the status of their comrades (online, in the game, etc.), regardless of which platform these comrades are playing from. In this case, the list of friends will be divided into 4 sections: Friends, RocketID, Recent players and Alerts:

How to add friends via their Rocket ID/How to add friends on rocket league cross platform
If you own the Steam version of the game, you’re in luck as you can use your friend’s Rocket ID to add them to your friends list. This ID works on multiple platforms and allows you to play across multiple platforms. Let’s see how you can do this on your system.
- Your friend’s rocket ID
Launch the Rocket League game and once you’re on the main menu screen, press “RT” on your controller. If you are on a PC, you can use the button associated with the Gas function. Alternatively, Nintendo users can press “ZR” on their Joycons.
Pressing this button should bring up the Social Media tab in the Rocket League. Now go to the second tab on the left, it should show you a list of your existing Rocket ID friends. Once on this page, press the “X” on your controller. PC users can simply click on “Add Friend by Rocket ID”
A keyboard should now appear with a text box where you can enter your friend’s rocket ID. If you are a PC user, you will just see a text box where you can add your friend’s Rocket ID using your keyboard. When done, hit “Search” to find your friend by rocket ID.
If you entered the ID correctly, your friend should appear at the top of the search results. Press “A” on your controller or click on your friend’s Rocket ID if you are on a PC and a friend request will be automatically sent to the person concerned.
Once your friend request is accepted, you can participate in Rocket League together.

How to add friends using your Epic Games ID
Epic Games’ new version of Rocket League has its own caveats. Although the game is free to play, it lacks the ability to voice chat with teammates. You also can’t add friends or create a community using your Rocket ID, but appreciate the Epic Games Store ID. Let’s see how you can use it to add friends to the Epic Games version of Rocket League.
- Your Epic Games friend’s registered email address / display name.
How to add before starting the game
Open the Epic Games Launcher on your system and click Friends in the left sidebar.
You will now be presented with a new window where you can invite friends and send requests to your friends using your Epic Games ID / Display Name. Enter the relevant information in the text box at the top.
Now click “Submit”.
A friend request should now be sent to your friend and you can play Rocket League with each other as soon as he / she accepts your request.
How to add after starting the game
Launch Rocket League on your system and once you’re on the home screen, click on the Friends icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
Now click on the first tab at the top to open your friends list.
Click “Add an epic friend” at the bottom.
Now enter your friend’s Epic ID in the dedicated text box.
Click OK when finished.
Now a friend request should be sent to your friend, and once accepted, you can easily team up in the Rocket League using the Party option.
What about my Rocket ID friends?
If you have previously used Steam or a console that is migrating to PC using the Epic Games version of Rocket League, you will need to manually send a command to convert your platform friends. This will add all your console / Steam friends to your Epic ID, allowing you to play with them without any glitches as Rocket League gives you cross-platform support. Let’s take a look at the procedure.
Open Rocket League on your system and click Options.
Now click on “Interface” at the top.
Finally, scroll down and check the “Convert Platform Friends” checkbox.
And it’s all! Rocket League will now automatically send friend requests to your friends on another platform. It will also accept any known requests on your behalf from other platforms. This will allow you to transfer your entire friends list to your Epic Games account within hours.
How to accept friend requests
Accepting friend requests is a fairly straightforward process whether you’re using the Epic Games version or not. You will receive a notification that will allow you to automatically accept friend requests when you are in the game. If you miss these notifications, you can follow the guide below to manually accept friend requests again.
Open Rocket League and click on the social media icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
Now click on the Bell icon, third from the left at the top of the social window.
Click on Friend Requests.
Note: This option will also show you the number of pending friend requests you have.
Now, just accept the friendship request you want and the person concerned will be automatically added to your friend list.
