How long are Jolly Journeys in WoW Wrath of the Lich King (WOTLK)

Leveling up can be tedious in World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King, but Blizzard makes it easy by bringing back Joyous Journeys. Here’s what you need to know.

When will Jolly Journeys start at WOTLK?

Jolly Journeys will return to WOTLK Classic on May 23rd, and it will lead us to the launch of the next level of raids after Ulduar. In this case, it will be the Trial of the Crusader raid.

The TotC raid tier starts on June 20th, so Joyous Journeys will guide players up to that point. Blizzard has confirmed that Joyous Journeys will end on June 19 at WOTLK Classic. This is consistent with how the Jolly Journeys buff was applied before. There’s still about a month of boosted experience being given away, so players have plenty of time to take advantage of it.

What is “Fun Journeys” in WOTLK?

For players looking to level up another character in WOTLK, or even level up for the first time, it’s recommended to start while the Jolly Journeys buff is active. This gives a 50% XP boost to players completing all content, which means things go a lot faster.

Combined with rested experience while in the tavern and some relic equipment, equipment that can be worn by low-level players that also grants boosted experience, gaining experience is even faster. The buff comes at a time when the previous raid is coming to an end, and players are preparing for the release of a new one. This gives people time to level up alternate characters for raids, or just allows people to go through the leveling process again, albeit at a faster rate.

This buff does not apply to Classic Era or retail WoW, so don’t expect to level another character faster anywhere but Wrath of the Lich King. Luckily, the new Season of Mastery and Hardcore servers are just around the corner.
