1. Check your Amazon Echo devices

  1. Several users have reported that disabling or powering off the Amazon Echo device that is connected to their network has removed the full_biscuit device from the network.
  2. If you also have an Amazon Echo, turn off the device.
  3. Make sure to unplug the device from the power outlet as well.
  4. Reboot the computer and check if the unknown device has disappeared from your network.
  5. Turn on your Amazon Echo device, and then try to connect to the network.
  6. Check your home network again to see if the unknown device shows up.
  7. If the network shows the same unknown device, try updating your Amazon Echo device to see if that fixes the problem.

Update Amazon Echo Device

  1. Alexa devices receive OTA software updates automatically.
  2. To install any pending updates, make sure your device is turned on and connected to your network.
  3. Make sure not to use the device when the update is in progress.
  4. Alexa will display a blue ring of light when the update is ready to install. Therefore, wait until the updates are installed.

2. Disable WiFi SSID broadcast

  1. Make sure your router is turned on and connected to your computer.
  2. Open the web browser and type the following IP address, and then press enter:
    168.1.1
  3. Enter your administrator username and password to login. If you have not changed the default password, enter adminand Password for username and password, respectively.
  4. Once you’re signed in, open the Wirelesstab .
  5. Locate the SSID broadcastoption .
  6. Click the Disabledradio button next to SSID Broadcast to hide your SSID.
  7. Make sure the Settings viewis set to Manul before disabling SSID broadcast.
  8. Click Save Settingsto apply the changes.

Note: The above steps are done on a Linksys router. Check your router’s user manual if you are using a different router.
