How can iPhone/iPad access files and documents on Mac desktop?

As long as iCloud is enabled, we can synchronize and access files and documents between our Apple devices. Of course, we must log in to the same Apple ID .

In other words, when I add a file on my Mac, I can then directly access the file on the ” iCloud Drive ” on my iPhone, iPad (or log in to icloud.com with another computer ) , and it will be automatically synchronized. No manual transmission is required, convenient and fast. There will be detailed graphic teaching below.

How can iPhone/iPad access files and documents on the Mac desktop through iCloud?

Step 1. Set up iCloud access for Mac

First, we need to set the access range of iCloud on the Mac, please open ” System Preferences “, and then click ” Apple ID “.

After making sure that “iCloud Drive” is enabled here, click ” Options… ” on the right .

Check ” Desktop and Document Folders ” to synchronize the Mac desktop and folders to iCloud.

It will first help you move all the items currently on the Mac desktop to a designated folder. (If you don’t want it, you can move it out of the desktop by yourself)

After the setting is complete, please open ” Finder “> ” iCloud Drive ” on your Mac now, and all the files on your current Mac desktop will be displayed in the ” Desktop ” folder.

As long as you add any file on the Mac desktop, the file will be automatically synced to the “Desktop” folder in iCloud Drive.

Step 2. Open the “File App” of iPhone and iPad

Then, we can access the files or folders stored on the Mac desktop in the ” File App ” on the iPhone or iPad . First, please open the ” File App ” and switch the location to ” iCloud Drive “.

Then click into the ” Desktop ” folder.

Shown here are all the files and folders on the Mac desktop, you can use and access them freely! (If the file does not appear, remember to turn on Wi-Fi to refresh and load it)

to sum up

iCloud Cloud Drive allows iOS users to easily access files between Apple devices, so they don’t have to pass them back and forth, and they don’t have to worry about forgetting to pass them
