Having a computer is a fun experience on its own, due to all that we can do on a computer on our own.
This happens to the point that many point out that if you have internet and a computer it is almost impossible to be bored and with nothing to do; which is due to the fact that through these tools we can search for different alternatives through the browser .
See what we want and interact with what we want, since the internet is a window to a great universe of information . So if you want to spend time on your computer, you will probably find a lot to do.
And, although what we say is true, much of this depends on our Internet connection , since it must be fully accelerated in order to enjoy the wonderful virtual world.
This is because we often have to download multiple programs in order to make our time on the internet worthwhile.
Which makes us take much more care of the space we have on the hard drive of our computers so that we have enough all the time for whatever it is we want to download, be it video games , movies, programs or whatever. Remember that it is important to always free space on your pc’s hard drive .
Now, does the same thing apply to our USB drives ? Well, the truth is yes, but it is a little more complicated than that. If you are transferring files that are too large to a USB drive such as an external hard drive, you may come across the infamous message that you cannot transfer a file to the destination because it is too large.
If this happens to you, do not fear, because the solution is quite simple, just keep reading this post to see how to fix it without too much trouble.
What is causing this error?
There are all kinds of errors that can occur within a computer, especially when we are handling large files and storing them in different places.
But, if you find yourself in the scenario that you need to move large files to an external storage drive such as a USB stick or external hard drive, you may end up running into a message that the file is too large for the destination.
The latter is a message that will appear whenever you handle files that are too large to these external drives due to their storage format.
When an external storage unit is FAT32 , you will not be able to put too large files inside it, because this format does not allow it.
That is why you need to change the format to NTFS to perform this operation. This can be done by formatting the external drive and changing the format in a couple of clicks.
How can I change the storage format without losing data on the storage drive?
If you do what we told you before to be able to change the format, you will end up losing all the files that are inside that storage unit.
And, although you always have the option of removing everything that is there to your hard drive and then performing the operation and returning the files, it is not always something viable. That is why you can use EaseUSPartition to change the format and not lose the files.
First, you must download and install the EaseUSPartition Master program, and once installed, run it and go directly to the FAT32 partition you want to change.
Once there you have to right click on it and select the option ” Convert to NTFS ” and accept. You just have to follow the instructions on the screen until the process finishes and you will have all your files intact and your drive with NTFS format.
