Hogwarts Legacy side quest walkthrough

A detailed guide to all additional missions to unlock new spells and equipment items

In this guide to Hogwarts Legacy you will find a walkthrough of side missions, while a guide to the main story can be read here .

Like a moth to a flame

Quest reward : new look.

The first side quest will become available after you complete the “Welcome to Hogwarts” story mission. Open the map and in the central hall of the “Library Annex” wing, find the black marker pointing to the quest giver. Tag him and chat with Lenora Everly. She will tell you about a mysterious picture without a frame. You will meet such pictures all over the world, and the principle of solving such puzzles will always be the same.

How to solve the empty frame puzzle? First, cast the Lumos spell near this frame by pressing the “1” key. By doing this, you will see an image of some nearby place where you should look for a butterfly. In this case, the marker will lead you to the right part of the central hall. Go down the stairs and find the emerald butterfly on the wall. When you approach her with the Lumos spell activated, she will move to the wand. Return to the empty frame and click LMB to return the butterfly to its place. For solving such a puzzle, you will receive a new page from the manual. Tell Lenore what you did to complete the mission and get the cobalt robe. It also unlocks a new challenge related to side quests and relationship missions.

Crossed sticks. Round 1

Quest Reward : Advance to the next round.

This quest becomes available after you complete the “Defense Against the Dark Arts” story mission. Move to any active point with flying flames in the South Wing, mark the side task with a marker and move to the right place. talk to Lucan Shumsby, then fight your first opponents. Keep in mind that enemies will use different shields. The yellow shield should be destroyed with Levioso, and the purple one with Accio. After the victory, the task will end, but the next round will be available a little later.

Combination Workout 1

Quest Reward : None.

The quest can be accepted after you complete the “Secret of the Locket” story mission and talk to Professor Hecate, activating her task to learn another spell. A prerequisite for learning the spell is to complete this quest. Just use the spells on the mannequin that are shown in sequence at the top of the screen.

Crossed sticks. Round 2

Quest Reward : Proceed to the next round, must be completed to learn the spell from Professor Hecate.

The quest can be accepted after you complete the “Secret of the Locket” story mission and talk to Professor Hecate, activating her task to learn another spell. A prerequisite for learning the spell is to complete this quest. You will have to defeat three enemies, so the help of a partner will be more than ever helpful. Attack the Levioso on the yellow shields and the Accio on the purple ones. Otherwise, nothing difficult. You can use the combos learned in the previous task.

Combination training 2

Quest Reward : None.

The task will become available after you complete the story missions “Secrets of the Forbidden Section” and “Books and Tribulations”. Another practice challenge. Click and activate those spells that are shown on the screen. In the quick access panels should be “Levioso”, “Accio” and “Incendio”.

Crossed sticks. Round 3

Quest reward : Wand Crossed Champion’s Attire.

The task will become available after you complete the story missions “Secrets of the Forbidden Section” and “Books and Tribulations”. This is the final battle against four enemies. Everything is as usual, except that some opponents will use red shields, destroyed by Incendio or counterattack. As a reward for the championship, you will receive the Wand Crossed Champion’s Attire.

Books blown off the shelves

Quest reward : new wand handles and gold.

After completing the quest in which you learn Accio (story mission “Spell Lesson”), go to the central hall of the “Library Annex” and talk to Cressida Bloom, who will have a side task for you. Enter the library and look around. Use the Revelio spell to spot the flying books (not to be confused with the page). There will be two or three books at the top and about the same number at the bottom. When you have collected all five books, return to Cressida Bloom for a reward (wand handle “Bird – Gray”.

A whole bunch of spit-stones

Quest reward : New wand handles.

Enter the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower after completing the Weasley’s After Hours story mission and speak with the side quest marker marked Zenobia Noake. She asks to find six spit-stones.

All stones are in six different places. The quest marker points to the rooms, but doesn’t show the exact locations of the stones.

  1. First, go to the Transfiguration Yard, where you talked with Professor Ronen and studied the Reparo spell. Look at the stone bike on the right, under which the ruined statue was being repaired, and find a round stone. Pull it in with Accio.
  2. At the Viaduct Entrance location, the spit-stone is located on a chandelier suspended from the ceiling. Climb to the top of the spiral staircase and find it. But do not rise even higher into the class of divination.
  3. At the same location, go down a little lower and go into the side room with wooden beams. On one of the beams under the ceiling there will be a spit-stone.
  4. Climb the spiral staircase of the Ravenclaw tower and turn into the blue-painted Hogwarts corridor. There will be a fourth spitstone on one of the side supports.
  5. Go to the trophy hall along the stairs of Hogwarts and look for an object above one of the windows of the corridor that runs along the outer perimeter of the hall. The window is up to the knight on horseback.
  6. Enter directly into the trophy room and find the last spitstone on the shelf next to the goblets.

Return to Zenobia Noak and give the girl all the spit-stones. In addition to experience points as a reward, you will receive a handle for a magic wand “Orbicular – purple”.

Stash in the castle

Quest Reward : None.

Speak with Arthur Plumlee in the Astronomy Wing to start a new quest. Arthur will tell you that two treasure maps fell into his hands, and he will give one of them to you. Carefully study the drawing to find three landmarks. Travel to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, then head down the stairs to the right of the entrance to this auditorium. You will see a stand with a skeleton of a rhinoceros. This is the first landmark from the treasure map. Climb even further down the stairs and through the large door into the Transfiguration Yard. In the center of the courtyard is a fountain with a dragon. Follow this fountain and open the large door its tail points to. Go ahead and climb up a few flights until you find a painting you can interact with. Use Accio on the painting to make a secret door appear. Inside the small utility room, search the chest for the historian’s school uniform. It remains to return to Arthur Plumley to complete the side task.

Cunning Keys

Quest Reward : Your House Uniform.

Talk to Nellie Oggspire in the Transfiguration Yard. Surely you noticed it when you completed the task “Cache in the castle”. Unlike the previous task, this quest is much more difficult. But first things first. Follow the astronomical tower that Nelly told about. It is there that one of the flying keys is located. Climb to the top of the tower, past the room with the note and the point with the flying flame. You will soon find the key. Get close to him so that he will fly down into the blue room with a note and a unique cabinet. Interact with the key. When he flies through the center of the castle, hit him by pressing the “Space”. If you have time, the key will fall into the keyhole and open the cabinet. Inside it you will find your house token. In my case, Gryffindor.

Return to Nelly and report your find. Then move to your house tower, find the house chest and apply this token. It turns out that in order to open the chest, you need to find a total of 16 tokens (one of them has already been found). All of them are hidden in the same cabinets on the territory of the castle, which you opened in the first half of the task.

Key number 2. Rhino Skeleton (Dark Arts Defense Tower)

Another ingenious key, which, like the previous one, can be found in the Astronomy Wing. Use the Transfiguration Yard fast travel point, go through the doors in the back, go up the stairs and turn left towards the rhino skeleton to find the key floating nearby. He will lead you to the right, up the stairs, to the closet located on the floor above.

Key number 3. Central hall

You are interested in an extension to the library. Use fast travel to the Central Hall. Go down the stairs and go to the fountain to find the key located at the entrance to the greenhouses. He will lead you to the opposite staircase, near the door to the Transfiguration Yard. On the right side of it, look for a closet.

Key #4. Library

Another key that can be found at the extension to the library. Use the “Library” flying flame point and find the key by the bookcases on the side closest to you. The key will lead you to a cabinet on the opposite side of the library, in the far corner.

Key number 5. Upper part of the central hall

And again you need to return to the extension to the library. Travel to the point of the flying flame “Central Hall”, and then climb the stairs to the large doors leading to the viaduct. Before you go through them, go to the right side of the room and look behind the stairs to find a key floating in the air. He will lead you to the closet on the right side, for which you will have to go back down the same stairs.

Key number 6. Potions Class

Another ingenious key on the territory of the extension to the library. Use fast travel to the flying flame “Potion Classroom”, go through the doors ahead and turn left to find the key floating above the stairs. Follow him down to the closet at the foot of the stairs.

Key number 7. north hall

In the Astronomical Wing area. Quickly move to the flying flame “Transfiguration Classroom”, turn around and go to the left side through the doors to the “North Hall”. You should find the key right before entering the history of magic class. You need to climb several flights of stairs to a closet located on the top floor.

Key number 8. sleeping dragon

Also in the Astronomy Wing. Head towards the flying flames in the “Transfiguration Classroom”, turn around and head to the left side through the double doors. Go forward, and then go down the stairs, all the way. Keep going down, paying attention to the cabinet on the left hand. Move past it to find the key at the sleeping dragon statue. Run for the key back to the passed closet.

Key number 9. Next to the map

Another tricky key that can be found in the Astronomy Wing area. Follow the same route you followed when you followed the previous key. This time, go past the sleeping dragon statue and the locked doors until you enter a room with wooden barrels. Climb the stairs, turn right and follow even lower until you find the key near the room with stone pillars and a chest with an eye. Come closer and run in the opposite direction, to the cabinet in the room with barrels.

Key number 10. Hogwarts stairs

In the Hogwarts stairs area. Move to the flying flame “Great Stairs” and climb the largest staircase. Keep going up until you find a key located one level down from a door with various symbols and a puzzle. The door itself is on the outer wall from the stairs. The key will lead you back to a closet next to the same flying flame and another puzzle door.

Key number 11. Hall

In the Great Hall area. Use fast travel to the Viaduct Yard flying flame, climb the stairs to this courtyard, and go through the large doors to the lobby. There is a closet on your left side, and you need to look for the key a little higher, above the large symbol of Hogwarts.

Key number 12. Big hall

In the same area “Great Hall”. Quickly move to the flying flame “Great Hall” and look to the left side to find the key. It will lead you to a closet located on the opposite side of the entrance compared to the puzzle door.

Key number 13. paved yard

And again, you are interested in the wing “Great Hall”. Use fast travel to the “Great Hall” flying flame, go to the right side through the double doors, go down the stairs past the statue and go through the large archway to find the key. Follow him down the stairs to a closet located in the far lower corner of the cobbled courtyard.

Key number 14. faculty tower

South Wing area. You need to complete the Watcher’s Lunar Lament quest to gain access to the House Tower – then you can open the doors using the Alohomora spell. Use fast travel to the Faculty Tower flying flame, go into the tower itself and climb the stairs to find the key on the floor above. it will lead you back to the closet, near where you came from.

Key number 15. faculty tower

As with the previous key, you need to complete the Caretaker’s Lunar Lament quest. On the upper floors of the Faculty Tower in the South Wing area, look for a corridor with portraits that is connected to the Chapel. There will be a key in the corridor. Follow him to the closet next to the entrance to the bathroom with statues.

Key number 16. Chapel

In the same area “South Wing”. As with the previous two keys, you will need the Alohomora spell. Use fast travel to the flying flame “Chapel”, go through the leftmost locked door and go up the stairs. Where the stairs lead, there will be a key on the left side of the passage. He will lead you up to where the last closet is.

The reward for finding all the tokens for the chest of the faculty will be the form of the House of Relics. It has a unique design depending on the house you choose and glows when you cast spells. Since the item is in collections and is not part of the equipment, in order to use it, you will have to change the appearance of the current equipment. After that, return to Nellie Oggspire to report the finds and complete the quest.

Poison Courage

Quest reward : Poison Tentacula Robe.

In the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower, talk to Duncan Hobhouse, who has a quest for you. Follow the marker to the courtyard, get to the indicated door and burn the thorns blocking the way inside. enter the hidden herbology corridor. Move forward using Accio to scare away the predatory roots. Don’t be lazy and turn right to climb up and open the equipment chest. Keep using Accio. If you see torch stands, use Incendio to light them. Interact with the Giant Poison Tentacula to get its leaf. Get out into the greenhouses and return to Duncan to complete the task.

stolen cart

Quest reward : Goblin-made helmet.

In the village of Lower Hogsfield, talk to the goblin Arn after meeting with Natsai Onai. He stands near the reservoir, and asks to return the cart with his paintings and goods. Follow the marker to the south, towards the bandit camp. On the way to the goal, collect resources and kill enemies, among which there will be dark mongrels. On the way to the goal, you will find another test of Merlin. Start the spiral, then use the Accio to destroy the round stones on the stands. There are about 6-7 of them, many are hidden behind the rocks, so you have to take a walk. Get to the enemy camp and kill all the warriors and assassins of Ranrok’s supporters. When the battle is over, open the gate inside the camp and interact with Arn’s wagons. Also in the camp there is a test of Merlin. Activate the spiral. You need to find three platforms and move the round stones onto them using the Accio.

Lost astrolabe

Quest reward : Mermaid mask.

Near the village of Lower Hogsfield, after talking with Natsai Onai, in the story, find the pier on which Grace Pinch-Smedley is standing. Listen to the girl and agree to help. Jump into the lake and swim northeast to the purple area on the radar. There are several points of interaction here, where you can dive to the bottom of the lake and collect treasures. You will find several items of equipment. In the end, you will also receive an astrolabe, which you need to return to Grace to complete the mission.

Professor Ronen’s challenge

Quest reward : The Reparo spell, which allows you to repair broken objects.

After the story mission “After-hour activities from the Weasleys”, go out into the courtyard and chat with Professor Ronen. Before learning a new spell, he will ask you to catch two pages from the manual. Use the markers to reach them (nearby) and catch them with the Accio. Return to Professor Ronen and learn the Reparo spell. Having done this, turn around and repair the statue near the pond.

Professor Hecate’s task 1

Quest Reward : The Incendio spell, which allows you to set enemies and nearby objects on fire.

This quest will become active after completing the “Secret of the Locket” story mission, when Phineas Feig recommends that you contact Professor Hecate for training. Once you’ve completed both tasks (Round 2 of Crossed Wands and Combination Practice 1), return to Professor Hecate. Learn the Incendio spell, after which you can set enemies and nearby objects on fire. Press the T key to open the spell editor. You can change spells in quick slots.Do this. For example, replace “Reparo” with “Incendio”Set the dummy on fire to test the spell in action.

Professor Hecate’s task 2

Quest Reward : Expelliarmus spell to disarm an enemy.

The task will become available after you complete the story missions “Secrets of the Forbidden Section” and “Books and Tribulations”. To learn the spell, you will have to complete additional tasks. First, you must use Incendio 5 times against enemies. Secondly, you need to dodge enemy attacks 10 times using CTRL. Even if you see that the enemy is attacking with a blockable blow (brown rune), press CTRL. Ideally, in order to act faster and more efficiently, do all this in the Crossed Wands. Round 3″. If you don’t complete these tasks, pay attention to the story mission “The Girl and Waggadoo”, which will take you outside of Hogwarts, to a new village, and on the way to the goal you will meet a lot of hostile creatures.

Summoner Field: Match 1

Reward for completing the quest: access to the next round (a little later).

Around the time the “Hunt for the Missing Pages” story quest begins, this side mission can be completed. Open the map, the wing of the bell tower and find the point with the flying flame “Broom Flying Lawn”. Move there, and Leander Pruett will stand on the wooden platform where you learned the game.

Chat with him to start the match. Leander goes first. Don’t forget that all those Leander’s balls that you push into the sectors with a large number will bring him more points. First, try to pick up the balls in such a way that you pull them diagonally without touching the balls of Leander Pruett. The last ones will probably still have to hit Pruett’s balls, but make sure that you at least score 30 points with them (the previous two – 50 each), and then victory is in your pocket!

Confusion over sweets

Reward for completing the quest: Quidditch board (to the Room of Rescue).

Another side quest that can be completed in parallel with the “Hunt for the missing pages”.

Move to the large hall, to the point with the flying flame “Viaduct Courtyard”. Near the great hall stands Garrett Weasley. Talk to the character, who will tell you that he needs sweets from the Sweet Kingdom shop. More specifically, he needs dried godwit stingers. Agree to help.

Follow the marker to the stairs of Hogwarts. Having risen to the stairs, turn left, into the passage, behind which there is also a point with a flying flame. In the passage on the right side is a statue of a one-eyed witch.

Interact with her to go underground. Go down the stairs and use Reparo to repair the elevator. Drive down. Burn the web of the Incendio, use the Levioso to raise the platform and jump higher.

Raise another platform and jump over to the other side. Repair the next platform first, then raise it up and jump on. Before you raise the next platform, use the “Accio” on the top metal part that is in the way. Then quickly raise the platform and jump to the other side.

Light the two bowls near the entrance to open the way further. Climb the stairs, search the shop and get dried stings. Leave this place and return to Garrett Weasley to complete the quest.

The ghost of our love

Quest reward: Treasure Seeker’s Scarf (400 coins), 180 experience points.

During the story quest “The Hunt for the Missing Pages”, Sir Nicholas will take you to the graveyard west of Hogsmeade. You can come there on your own. On one of the gravestones is a treasure map that will trigger this quest. Move to the point with the flying flame “Forbidden Forest”. Please note that the passage to the Forbidden Forest resembles one of the landmarks from the treasure map.

Stand with your back to him and go to the stone bridge on the right, where there is a note about a date. Use Lumio to make flying candles appear. Together with candles, run deep into the Forbidden Forest, without turning anywhere from the main path. When there is a lift with candles on the left side, next to the “skull and bones” sign, follow the top of the hill to the meeting point with a table and chairs. This is where the task ends. Get the treasure hunter’s scarf from the chest.

Follow the butterflies

Reward for completing the quest: a box of flowers (decoration for the Rescue Room), 180 experience points.

This side quest becomes available after you complete the story mission “Galkrad’s Repose”. Visit Hogsmeade, enter the Three Broomstick Inn and chat with Clementine Willardsey. Move to the point with the flying flame “Forbidden Forest”, go deep into the marker “butterflies” and follow them. In the end, the butterflies will lead you to a chest, inside of which lies a statue of a scumbag (decoration for the Help-room). After that, return to Clementine to complete the mission.

Professor Sharp’s Challenge 1

Quest reward: Depulso spell (repels enemies and objects).

This side quest becomes available after you complete the story mission “Galkrad’s Repose”. Professor Sharp will send a letter by owl post. Before you learn the Depulso spell, which repels enemies and objects, you will have to complete two tasks. They are associated with three types of potions. Hold down the TAB key to see which of the three potions you have on the consumable wheel. In my case, there were all three. Just use them. Make sure you have both Edurus and Maxima as they need to be activated one by one.

Once you’ve done that, return to the Potions classroom during the day and after the cutscene, talk to Professor Sharp, who will teach you Depulso. You can try out the new spell on the mannequin in the classroom. By the way, if you need to rewind time, open the map, press the F key and confirm the action. So you can change day to night and vice versa.

Flight tests

Reward for completing the quest: 180 experience points (a little later – an upgrade for a broom).

This task will become available after the story mission “Broom Flying”. Head to Hogsmeade, to the Krugoletka sporting goods store, and chat with Alby Wicks. Buy any broom. They all cost the same – 600 gold coins. After that, Alby will offer to pass the test.

Chat with Imelda Reyes on the Quidditch pitch, then complete the challenge within the allotted time. You will not be able to beat the maximum record, but you do not need to. The main thing is to complete the track in less time than what is indicated in the upper right corner of the screen. Fly through all the rings, otherwise 3 seconds will be added to the end time for each missed one. Collect yellow orbs that give you a speed boost (unlike the yellow bar that is consumed in the normal game by holding LMB, a yellow rhombus with the image of two brooms will be emptied here). Collecting yellow orbs fills the yellow diamond, so release and hold LMB to reactivate. Surely you will beat the record of Imelda Reyes the first time, so immediately return to Alby Wicks. There is a leaderboard next to Reyes and it will allow you to restart the race.

Delivery required

Reward for completing the quest: Thunderstorm Drink, 300 coins.

This side quest can be completed when visiting Hogsmeade after completing the “Broom Flying” story mission. Go to the potion shop and chat with Perry Pepin. Ride the broomstick to the indicated location and speak with Fatima Lawang in Kinbridge. Move away from her, press TAB, select the invisibility potion and apply it on yourself. Talk to the woman again, then return to Perry Pepin to complete the quest.

Professor Sharp’s Challenge 2

Quest reward: Diffindo attack spell, which allows you to cut enemies from a distance (but not set them on fire).

This task will appear approximately after you complete the mission “Broom Flying” and a couple of other additional tasks. Professor Sharp will send a letter. Before you can learn a new spell, you must find and use Storm Drink on enemies. Luckily, you don’t even have to buy it, as the Thunderstorm Drink is a reward for completing the “Delivery Needed” quest described above. Go to any enemy group outside of Hogsmeade (the easiest way to find enemies is in the Forbidden Forest), hold RTAB, select Thunderstorm Drink and activate it in combat. Go to Professor Sharp, who will teach you how to use the Diffindo spell. This spell will allow you to cut enemies from a distance.

Interior decoration

Quest reward: Altering Spell, Golden Trophy for Excellence in Herbology, Screen Decoration, 180XP.

This task will become available immediately after completing the side mission “Rescue Room”. Speak to Professor Weasley inside the Rescue Room, then use the Witch Spell to hang 5 paintings or other decorations on the walls (Artworks or Wall Decorations section) and place statues, ornaments, etc. on the floor (Decorations section) ). Talk to the professor again, learn the “Change” spell. Go to a grow or potion table, cast this spell, choose a different color and style. All hints are on your screen. In the case of a decoration on the floor, such as a statue, using a change spell, you can change its size. After talking with the Weasleys, change the gender by casting the appropriate spell on it.

Talk to Deek and decide how your room as a whole should look like. Immediately after this, the task will end.

Professor Chesnoke’s Challenge 1

Quest reward: Wingardium Leviosa spell, 150 experience points.

Before you can learn another spell, which Professor Chesnoke will kindly provide you with, you need to use two plants in battle. Hold down the TAB key and check for availability. If you don’t have a poisonous tentacula and/or a mandrake, head to Hogsmeade and check out Timophylls and Toadstools, which is marked with a fly agaric icon on the map (in the upper left corner of the village). Here you can buy one and the other plants.

Poison Tentacula can be used anywhere, not necessarily in combat. But the mandrake must be used on an enemy group so that it stuns at least two opponents. To do this, for example, you can teleport to the beginning of the Forbidden Forest and go deeper until you see at least two red markers on the radar. Once both plants are used, return to Hogwarts, to the herbology classroom, and chat with Professor Chesnoke. If necessary, open the map, press F and rewind time.

You will learn the Wingardium Leviosa spell. This is an advanced version of the regular Levioso that allows you to rotate and zoom in or out on objects. The downside is that the item will only float in the air for as long as the spell affects it. As soon as you turn it off (like Accio with moving objects), this thing will fall to the ground. But with Levioso, the situation is different and the object lifted into the air will continue to soar. And do not forget that to move and rotate an object in the air when using Wingardium Leviosa, you need to press the keys F, V (zoom / zoom) and Q, E (turn clockwise or counterclockwise).

Madame Kogava’s task 1

Quest reward: 150 experience points, freezing spell “Glacius”.

Another professor is ready to share his knowledge with you and teach you the new Glacius spell. As usual, before you can learn new enchantments, you will have to complete a couple of simple tasks. In this case, Professor Kogawa asks you to burst balloons over Hogsmeade Station and around the Quidditch field. In fact, there are such balls on almost every 50 square meters of the game world. They all float in the sky in clusters of five and look the same (burgundy/brown/blue with a big star). To burst the ball, it is enough to crash into it on a broomstick.

Open the Hogwarts map, select the wing of the bell tower and move to the flying flame point “Broomstick Flying Lawn”. Get on the broom (TAB + “3”) and fly towards the large Quidditch field. There are 5 balloons inside and outside the field for you to pop. If successful, you will receive a corresponding message. By the way, the game has a test that involves bursting balloons. For 1 test point, the destruction of five balloons hovering in one place is considered.

Fly along the marker to Hogsmeade station (it’s a train station in the mountains above the city) and burst five more balloons.

She will teach you the Glacius spell. It freezes enemies, which also increases the damage they take from subsequent attacks.

Caring for a brother

Quest reward: black arrow wand handle, 180 experience points.

This side quest can be picked up in Upper Hogsmeade after completing the Cartography Room main mission. Chat with Dorothy Sprottle working in her garden.

She will tell about the missing Bardolph Beaumont, who hobnobbed with Rookwood’s peplumbs in the Forbidden Forest. Talk to local merchant Claire Beaumont, Bardolph’s sister. Follow the marker into the forest until you find a small cemetery with the risen dead, the Infernals. In addition to the usual Infernals, you will encounter the corpse of Bardolph Beaumont. Destroy it as you would a regular enemy of this type – first you need to set fire to Infernal, and only after that he will receive damage from your main attacks. By the way, the Corpse of Bardolph Beaumont is your first notorious enemy. There is a separate challenge associated with their destruction, and such opponents are marked on the map with a black and white “skull” marker.

By the way, there is a trading tent of Leopold Barbok nearby, from whom you can buy a unique broom for 5000 coins.

There is also a test of Merlin with a large ball that needs to be installed on a platform with a notch. But first, burn the leaves and branches that cover the desired platform, and only then move the ball with the help of Wingardium Leviosa. To the northwest there are other trials of Merlin. There you need to jump on the freed stone blocks without falling to the ground. In the case of Merlin’s test in the very north, you need to destroy (with a long-range fire spell) some stone obelisks near a small pool. Return to Claire Beaumont and report her brother’s fate.

We should set up camp

Quest reward: deer skull decoration, 180 experience points.

This side quest can be picked up in Upper Hogsmeade after completing the Cartography Room main mission. Chat with local merchant Claire Beaumont to learn about the goblins who set up camp on the approaches to the settlement. You need to destroy two such camps, which will be marked with quest markers.

Move along the marker to the first camp and destroy all the goblins. Don’t forget that you can use stealth and kill opponents from behind, but they can still spot the main character, so be careful. Sooner or later, you will have to show yourself and fight the goblins in an open battle. In fact, this gang of goblins has nothing to do with the camp, even the “robber camp” icon is not in this place.

The second goblin camp is located northeast of Hogsmeade. Move to the city and move beyond it. Destroy several enemies to complete the mission. By the way, fighting goblins is a good time to try out war plants if you’re preparing to learn spells from Professor Chesnoke. Return to Claire Beaumont and report that both goblin camps have been cleared.

Professor Chesnoke’s Challenge 2

Quest reward: Flippendo, a new spell that allows you to rotate enemies and objects.

You will receive this task from Professor Chesnoke shortly after completing the first task. Even the story missions between them will not have to be performed.

Travel to Hogsmeade and visit the Magic Rutabaga shop, marked with a wheat ear icon and located in the western part of the settlement. Buy seaweed seeds. As usual, seeds are bought once and for all. According to another task, you must use Mandrake, Poison Tentacula, and Chinese Chewing Cabbage in combat. All this can be bought at the Timophylls and Toadstools store. Do this while you are in Hogsmeade.

As you can see from the screenshot above, you can’t grow algae in normal pots, so you definitely need a table with a medium or large pot. To do this, visit Hogsmeade again, look into the shop of scrolls and tomes and buy a drawing to build the appropriate table for one, three or five medium / large pots. Having done this, build a table in the Help-room and plant seaweed. It remains to wait for them to grow (15 minutes of real time in the game).

While the algae is growing, head to the Forbidden Forest or just outside of Hogwarts and take on an enemy group while using Mandrake, Poison Tentacula, and Chinese Chewing Cabbage in combat (hold TAB to select them in the weapon wheel, and press TAB to activate the selected item ). Do something else and return to the Room of Rescue for the algae harvest. After collecting them and successfully using all three battle plants in one battle, go to Professor Chesnoke. She will teach you the new Flippendo spell, which allows you to rotate enemies and objects. This spell will be essential for completing Merlin’s test with the cube on top of the cube.

Madame Kogava’s task 2

Quest reward: 150 experience points, Arresto Momentum spell.

You will receive this task from Madame Kogawa shortly after completing the first task. Even the story missions between them will not have to be performed. As usual, before learning the spell, you will have to practice and burst balloons in two places – near the ridge of rocks and the top of the tower in Kinbridge. Start tracking this quest to make it easier to find the orbs you need.

Travel to the Hogwarts Valley West Flame Point, fly into the mountains and burst five balloons. Nothing difficult! On the other hand, there is Merlin’s test in the same place. You need to find three clusters of four small stone balls and use Accio and Wingardium Leviosa to deliver them to three platforms located around the spiral. One set of stone balls will be hidden behind the rocks on the high ground – destroy them with a fire or freeze spell.

Then follow to Kimbridge. There’s a new test for Merlin here. If you have not passed by this point, I explain: after activating the spiral, you need to find a platform with a hole and a huge stone ball. This stone ball will be in another part of the city. Drag it with the Wingardium Leviosa and throw it into the hole. Ready! Take off into the sky on a broom and find a high tower with a hole in the roof near the city. Pop five balloons near the tower.

Go back to Madame Kogawa and talk to her. She will teach you the Arresto Momentum spell, which allows you to stop enemies or objects. This will come in handy not only in battles, but also when solving a number of puzzles. But do not forget, the larger the target, the worse the slowing effect.

Fight with the Runaway

Quest reward: wand handle “Chessboard – brown”, 180 experience points.

Go to Aranshire on the right side of Hogwarts, in the east, and talk to the local merchant.

In fact, this is a very difficult task, because at the end you have to fight a huge level 32 Runaway spider. Although you can complete the first part of it. Move along the marker, go down into the cave and defeat the usual spiked spitters and runners. There will be one spider matriarch, but it’s not that hard. After descending into the gorge, follow the marker to the cave of the Runaway.

You can try your hand right now, although I recommend returning to destroying the Runaway at least at level 28-29. Dodge the red attacks and be sure to block the yellow ones to counterattack the monster. When ordinary spiders appear, do not be lazy and first kill them all. They will make the fight more difficult. After defeating the Runaway, return to Edgar in Aranshire and complete the quest.

Troll under control

Quest reward: Troll hat, 180 experience points.

This task can be taken in Brockburrow southeast of Hogwarts (a settlement near the rocks). Talk to Alexandra Rickets standing outside her house.

She will tell about the escaped troll. Follow the marker into the mountains and fight this level 29 Alexandra Troll. Try to use the environment and throw all available objects at the enemy by pressing the Z key. Also use the parry on Q for attacks marked with a “brown rune” in order to automatically apply Stuns in the future. It will be useful to pump Stunned through talents so that it not only stuns, but also deals damage to targets. The troll usually hits 1-2 times and then uses a blockable attack. Or throws a rock at you, picking it up from the ground. Both attacks can be parried.

If it suddenly doesn’t work, return to this battle later, when you pump the main character. Turn in the quest to Alexandra of Brockburrow.

Stolen cabbage

Quest reward: Herbology Tools Decoration, 180XP.

This task can be taken in Brockburrow southeast of Hogwarts (a settlement near the rocks). Speak to local merchant Eddie Heathbloom.

Brockburrow also has a Merlin test, right in the middle of the village. Activate it and find a recess for a large stone ball on the side. Climb up the mountain, past the obstacles that can be destroyed, and find this ball. Take it to the indicated location to complete the challenge. As for the second test of Merlin near the city, after activating the spiral, pay attention to the three stone blocks with holes. Light green moths also fly nearby. Use “Lumio” to collect them in groups and deliver them to the block.

Get to the first location and clear out the bandit camp. Do not forget that in order to complete the event after killing all the enemies, you need to search the main chest of the camp, and then it will be marked with a “brown checkmark” on the map. In the same camp in a wooden box is the cabbage you need. Take it and pay attention to Merlin’s test. It is different from the rest – you do not need to destroy, but repair 3-4 statues using Reparo.

Fly to the second location to the next crate near Feldcroft and take out the Ranrok supporters who have set up their camp. Don’t forget to search the camp’s main chest to complete the event. Remove the second portion of Chinese cabbage from the drawer. Visit the nearby village of Feldcroft and give 4 Chinese Chewing Cabbage to Bernard Ndiaye.

Intrigue with vases

Quest reward: Column – Beige wand handle, 180 experience points.

Visit Irondale south of Hogwarts and talk to Altea Crutix. In the same place, there is a test of Merlin, for which you must destroy 9 stone spheres on stands (they are located in groups of 3 pieces in different places). Near the city there is also a second trial of Merlin. Activate the spiral and find three braziers around. Once you’ve done that, quickly ignite each one with a ranged fire spell.

Fly to the Feldcroft region, follow the marker to find the ruins. Use “Revelio” to light up the vases. Destroy 20 vases scattered throughout the ruins in any way. This will activate the battle arena statue. It is not necessary to pass the arena tests, the more difficult it is. But you can try if you want. In total, 5 enemy waves await you.

Return to Altea Krutiks to complete the quest.

Professor Onai’s task

Quest reward: Descendo spell, 180 experience points.

Before you can learn the new Descendo spell, you will need to complete two additional tasks. First, you must collect the troll boogers. You won’t be able to buy them anywhere, so wait until you fight the troll. By the time this quest appears, you should have defeated several trolls. If not, complete the “Troll Under Control” side mission above. Or the “Vase Intrigue” quest, which will take you to the battle arena and there will be a troll in some waves. It is very important that the boogers after the destruction of the troll must be picked up manually. They will not automatically appear in your inventory!

The second task is to use Depulso on a levitating enemy. You cannot lift absolutely all enemies into the air (for example, you cannot lift trolls or haste), although most of them are subject to the influence of Levioso. Cast on a dark mage, goblin, normal spider or dead man, and then attack with the Depulso spell unlocked earlier. And when you’re ready, head to Professor Onai’s classroom to learn a new spell.

Descendo is a powerful spell that moves objects downward and slams enemies into the ground, causing a shockwave.

Sweeping away competitors

Reward for completing the quest: 180 experience points, in the future – the second upgrade for the broom.

Go to Alby Wicks’ store in Hogsmeade and talk to the man. Spend 1000 gold coins to buy the first broom upgrade. The upgrade will apply to all brooms you use. After that, Alby will ask you to continue the study and will again direct you to Imelda Reyes.

Travel south from Hogwarts to the point of the flying flame “Northern part of the southern swamp by the sea.” Fly to the indicated point, talk to Imelda and beat her record in the race. As always, you can linger and use the leaderboard, but at the moment, with such a broom, it will not be possible to break the best record. But on the Quidditch field – it’s easy! After the victory, return to Alby and tell about the results to complete the task.

Mr. Moon’s moons

Reward for completing the quest: “Alohomora” of the second and third levels (a spell that allows you to pick locks), 180 experience points.

This quest will become active after you complete the “The Caretaker’s Complaint about the Moon” story mission. As soon as you bring 3 Demimask Moon figurines to Mr. Moon, the story part will end, and after a few seconds this side mission will begin. The quest is divided into two parts. In the first part, you must find 9 figurines.

When you hand over the last 13 Demimask Moon figurines to Mr. Moon, he will inform you that he will investigate and contact you. After some time, you will receive a letter by owl mail from Piers Pemberton, who asks you not to interfere in his affairs with Moon. Meet the man in Hogsmeade to learn his story. Return to Mun and talk to him to complete the quest.

Hogwarts

You can find a total of 10 Demimasca Moon figurines in the castle grounds, not counting the ones you pick up from Gladwyn Moon’s main story quest. Here is their location at Hogwarts:

  • Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower. Use fast travel to the Transfiguration Yard, then turn around and head through the doors to the Dark Arts Defense Tower. Turn to the right and you will see a door with a lock of the second level in front of you, facing you at an angle, next to a talking gargoyle. As you understand, you can get this figurine in the second half of the task, when you unlock Alohomora of the second level.
  • Divination class. In Professor Onai’s divination class, in the Library Annex wing. The figurine is on a large wooden table at the back of the room.
  • Big hall. In the southwest corner of the large hall, there is a door with a first level lock. Behind her on the table is a figurine.
  • Haunted toilets. As for the haunted toilets, you need to get into the Gryffindor Tower. Use fast travel to the South Wing, to the flying flame “Teaching Tower”. Then go south along the passage with the One-Eyed Witch. Pass by where Gladwyn Moon is standing and go down the spiral staircase at the very end. Follow the stairs below, turn right at the map of Argyllshire hanging on the wall (there is another room hidden behind it, use Depulso to press the button). Go down the stairs, turn left until you find a locked door with a “Out of Service” sign. Use Alohomora on the castle of the first level, enter the third booth in the middle. The figurine is on a crate next to the chopped wood.
  • Long gallery. From the flying flames of the “Potion Classroom” go through the doors ahead, then go down the spiral staircase and move through the door at the very end, next to the cabinet opened with the winged key. Halfway down the hall you will find a door with a level 2 lock. Open it to find a figurine surrounded by sample jars.
  • Muggle Studies. Move to the “Transfiguration Classroom”, turn around and go through the door on the left, into the north hall. Walk forward, go down the right side and follow the stairs to the dungeons. Keep going down until you reach the sleeping dragon statue. Turn right and open the first door on the left. It is protected by a first level lock. Open it and look for the figurine on the right.
  • Northern fortress wall. Move to the north exit of Hogwarts, turn around and return to the castle. Once on the territory of the castle, immediately go to the wall on the left. Don’t go through the large double door and don’t go up the stairs – you need to find a doorway under this staircase with steps with a first level lock. There will be a figurine on the crate on the right inside the room.
  • Professor Fig’s office. Enter Professor Fig’s classroom, go up the stairs and enter his office. The figurine is on the table in the back, next to the fireplace.
  • Professor Hovin’s office. Professor Hovin is in charge of the Beast Study class. Move there, it’s outside the castle, to the right of the broom flying lawn. Pick any of the second level locks on the doors to get into the house. The figurine is on the table on the right side of the building.
  • Restricted section. There is a good chance that you have already been to the Forbidden Section of the Library with Sebastian Sallow, but forgot that there is a Figurine that you could not pick up before. Go back there – go to the library, through the gate on the right side, go down the stairs and follow the same path as during the first visit here. It’s a fairly straight forward route so you won’t get lost and miss the figurine located on the chest of drawers right in front of the doorway in the hallway.

Hogsmeade

Here you have to find nine figurines of the Demimask Moon at once. The village is much smaller than Hogwarts, although it has its own challenges. Many houses are locked by default, so you will need to collect other figurines in order to level up Alohomora to the second, and in some cases, the third level. location of all figurines in Hogsmeade:

  • Clothing store “Hat of Invisibility”. Go to the central square of Hogsmeade. You should have visited this store after fighting the troll and repairing the surrounding facilities. The figurine is on a shelf, in an open area.
  • Pantry of the tavern “Boar’s head”. Head to the Boar’s Head Inn, go behind the bar to the back room. On two folded boxes is another figurine.
  • Potions vendor’s neighbor. The house next to the potion shop has a level 2 castle. Use Alohomora and go inside, go upstairs to find the figurine on the dresser opposite the chest.
  • Northeast house in Hogsmeade. From the North Hogsmeade fast travel point, turn left to the water wheel, immediately go right on the paved path. In front of you will be a house with four copper pots – turn right again and use the first level Alohomora to remove the lock from the door and get into the next house. Inside there will be another figurine.
  • Opposite the Bingle and Blatch building. Move to the point “South Hogsmeade” and pay attention to the building on the right, where there is a sign Bingle and Blatch. Go around the building on the left and you will see steps, and next to them – a wooden cart and a door. Open the first level lock on the door, go inside and look for the figurine at the top.
  • Head to upper Hogsmeade and look for a building with a wooden jetty. Open the first level lock to find the figurine above the fireplace.
  • House in South Hogsmeade. Go north up the path from the entrance to Hogsmeade, past the tome and scroll shop, turn left – if you get to Ollivander’s wand shop, you know you’ve gone too far, you need to follow the Boar’s Head sign. The first door on your left is protected by a level 2 lock. Open it with Alohomora, go upstairs and take the figurine from the chest of drawers.
  • A separate room in the tavern “Three broomsticks”. Use Alohomora to open the first level lock on the door at the very top of the Three Broomsticks and look for the figurine on the table inside, next to the manual page and loot chest.
  • Folios and scrolls. Enter the Folios and Scrolls store, pass by Thomas Browne. Turn left and enter the bedroom behind the curtain. Turn left again and look for the figurine on the chest of drawers behind the four-poster bed.

Neighborhood of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade

In the immediate vicinity of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, you can find 11 figurines of the Demimascus Moon, and each of them, one at a time, is located inside the buildings of local settlements:

  • From the flying flames of the village, go through the door on your left with the first level lock. Climb up and look for the figurine on the floor by the bed.
  • Go forward from the flying flame, turn left, then turn left again at the council and enter the house. The figurine is on the table next to the chair.
  • Teleport to Brockburrow, head west to find Eddie Thistlewood, a trader in the small village square. Go past the well and open the first level lock in the house with a bench to the right of the door and a small potted tree to the left. The figurine is right behind the door, on the left side.
  • In Cragcraft, you need to find Bella Navarro the merchant northwest of the flying flame. Go into the building to her right and look for the figurine upstairs, on a table near the bed.
  • There is a huge round wall in Feldcroft with a well in the middle – you need to go to the east side to find a house with clothes hanging on a clothesline on the right and vegetables on the left. Open the lock of the second level, and look for the figurine on the windowsill on the left side after entering.
  • From the flying flames of Irondale, go north along the path, enter the first house on the right – Althea Twiddle can sit outside. Look behind the bar to find a figurine located right on the floor.
  • As part of the Delivery Needed quest, you need to deliver the potions to Fatima Lawang in Kinbridge. Head west from her location and at the end of the path, find a house with a level 1 lock. Use Alohomora and look for the figurine right in front of you.
  • Lower Hogsfield. Fast travel to Lower Hogsfield and go through the gate next to the flying flames. Enter the house at the beginning of the path, and look for the figurine on the floor to the left of the doorway.
  • From the flying flame of Marunvim, go north, immediately turn right and follow the wooden boat with plants inside. Enter the first building on the left with four cauldrons to the left of the door. The figurine is behind the bar, on the floor.
  • Pitt-on-Ford. Fast travel to this settlement and follow the path heading south until you find a stagecoach parked at a wooden gate. Enter this three-story house, climb to the very top to find the statuette on the left, at the top of the stairs.
  • Upper Hogsfield. Fast travel to Upper Hogsfield. From the flying flame, head north past Dorothy Sprottle. The second house on your left – with the big wheel to the right of the door – has a level one lock. The figurine is inside it, on a stool facing you at the entrance.

Note. You can continue collecting figurines, because there are actually more of them than you need (according to the quest, you find 3, 9 and 13, while only in Hogwarts and Hogsmeade there are 10 + 9 = 19, and there are about 7-8 villages in the district, and each of them will have one moon). And do not forget that all Demimask moons should be collected exclusively at night. They are visible during the day, but you will not be able to pick them up.

A friend in need is a friend indeed

Reward for completing the quest: 180 experience points, “Keg Shelf” decoration.

This quest can be picked up at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade after completing the three main story missions in the fall – The Warden’s Complaint about the Moon, Studying the Beasts, and Urtcote’s Helmet. Perhaps it is enough to complete only the last task, since this is what begins in a conversation with Sirona Ryan in the same inn.

Go to Upper Hogsfield and talk to Dorothy Sprottle, from whom you have previously taken the side quest “Caring for a Brother”. Get to the entrance to another cave. At its foot there will be a bandit camp, so you can clear it. Go inside the cavity with murlocomles.

Move forward and burn the thickets. On the left side there will be a pond. Shoot a ranged spell at the rocks on the other side and swim there for loot (make sure to light up the room with Lumio). Continue moving, jump over the abyss, destroy the boards and go down. Immediately turn around and crawl through the tunnel to find the loot. Keep moving and go down below where the Mountain Troll is waiting for you. It is no different from previous trolls, so use the same tactics (dodging and parrying the last blow when the enemy swings from above, or parrying a stone throw that the troll picks up from the ground). And do not forget to throw all the objects located in a circle at the enemy, and also, if possible, activate ancient magic.

Move towards the exit. On the right side, you can destroy the wall to find loot. Climb back up, cross the wooden boards and use the hole in the wall. Collect five letters and one crate. Return to Sirona and give her these items.

Toxic Revenge

Quest reward: 300 coins, dragonskin herbalist gloves, 180 experience points.

You can pick up this quest near the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade after completing the three main story missions in the fall – The Warden’s Complaint about the Moon, Studying the Beasts, and Hurtcote’s Helm. It may be enough to complete only the last task. Outside the inn, there will be a man named Ackley Barnes. Talk to him.

In the same Hogsmeade, follow the marker that will lead you to the door to the basement. Go downstairs and you will see Mr. Lawley in front of you. Use invisibility. You can shoot at the wall to the left of Lawley to divert his attention. Hacking the door on the right is optional, although you can do it. Instead, go into the room ahead and find an open passage on the right – a hole in the wall.

Otherwise, you need to get to the poisonous tentacula. Kill all spiders, search this place and pluck the plant. Follow the same path back to Ackley Barnes to complete the quest.

Hall Herodias

Quest reward: 180 experience points.

The quest will be available approximately after you complete the story missions “The Caretaker’s Complaint about the Moon”, “Beast Study” and “Urtkot’s Helmet” in the fall, before the second test. Speak with Assembly Franklin at Hogwarts. Use the guide by pressing V to find the entrance to Herodiana’s Hall. There will be a big button here. Click on it using the Depulso spell, and then go into the hall.

Go forward to the first room with a puzzle. Use Depulso to push two blocks forward. Or stand near the ledge with the door, slightly to the side, and pull the blocks with the Accio.

In the next room, first drag a lone block from left to right. Then pull both blocks back to the left wall, push to the far left corner, and then to the far right. From there you can climb up.

In the third room, pull the blocks to the right wall and push forward to the ledge with the device that resets the position of the mobile blocks. Move the blocks to the left wall. Use them to climb onto the fixed ledge against the left wall. Shoot the device so that the blocks return to their usual place. Drag the blocks towards you so that they rest against the ledge with the door. Climb up there and complete the last puzzle. Talk to Sophronia to complete the quest.

Summoner Field: Match 2

Quest reward: 180 experience points.

The quest will be available approximately after you complete the story missions “The Caretaker’s Complaint about the Moon”, “Beast Study” and “Urtkot’s Helmet” in the fall, before the second test. Another match on the Summoner Field on the Broom Flying Lawn. Talk to Samantha Dale to start the game. Pay attention to stains on the field. They will tighten the moving balls. At what to tighten to the center. And if the right swing is more or less safe, since it will tighten and hold the ball on the field, then the left one will pull the ball off the field. Be careful. The first ball, left, can be directed between the divorces on the board.

The Tale of Rowland Dubs

Quest reward: Handmade necklace, 180 experience points.

The quest will be available approximately after you complete the story missions “The Caretaker’s Complaint about the Moon”, “Beast Study” and “Urtkot’s Helmet” in the fall, before the second test. Chat with Adelaide Dubs in the Hogwarts Transfiguration Yard. Move to the specified location and clear out the bandit camp as you normally would. Be sure to search the chest to clear the camp. Find the diary of Rowland Dubs on the ground, and also pick up the map lying on the box in the back of the camp.

On the left side there is a shaky wall. You can destroy with a ranged spell and go down into the cave to find equipment. Now you need to find the place that Dubs depicted on the map. Open this card and look for a dot of flying flames to the left of your position, at the very edge of the screen. This is the right place. in the same place you will find the “Bandit Camp in the Castle”. The point of flying flame is called the Ruins of Corrow.

Move there and go to the territory of the ruins. Destroy the first enemies, go up to the second tier and clear it. Follow the marker indicating the entrance to the ruins. After defeating the goblins, enter the ruins of Corrow. After loading, go to the main hall and finish off all the goblins. On the side, you can open the lock to find more enemies and loot. Continue moving and clear the enemies in the next room.

On the left side is a statue with a bowl. You can set fire to the bowl so that the statue turns around and you get to the other side. Collect the loot and climb the steps ahead. You will find a locked door with pipes coming from it. Go left, go around the hall in a circle and find a stove with firewood. Set fire to this firewood and go through the opened door. After a long battle in the throne room against the goblins, find the magic wand of Rowland Dubs in the side room on the right. Exit the hall and go to the left, through the long open passage. Kill the last enemies and interact with the detention chamber to free Rowland. The task will end with a conversation with Rowland. Get out of the cave the same way you came here.

Blood relations

Quest reward: none.

In fact, this is not a quest, but a banal communication with Sebastian Sallow and Ominis Gaunt. After that, Sallow will promise to contact you, and so a completely different task will begin.

lost child

Quest reward: 180 experience points.

After completing the Astronomy and High Fortress story missions, Natty will contact you. Go to the indicated village of Lower Hogsfield and talk to the girl. Talk to the mother of the missing child. Follow Natty to Archie’s hideout. Use the Revelio and search the camp. Examine the chest, use Revelio and look for traces. Perhaps Natty will point them out. Keep using Revelio and follow the tracks. Kill all the enemies you meet, you can move close to Natty to solve parallel puzzles like Merlin’s trials.

Destroy the wolves, continue moving and inspect Archie’s bag. Along the way, you will also be able to catch new creatures, thestrals. Sneak up on them from behind so that they don’t have time to suspect anything, since you need to press the F key as many as 5 times.

Eliminate all enemies in the bandit camp. Solve Merlin’s puzzle. To do this, you need to use the “Flippendo” spell to rotate the cubes from different sides and make the pattern on the bottom match with the top. Do this with three cubes. When you’re ready, enter the Peplumba Gang’s enchanted tent. Clear the entire tent of enemies. As soon as you defeat them all, find the stairs on the first floor in the back room, going down. Go down and free the boy Archie. Go to the village of Lower Hogsfield to receive your well-deserved reward.

Deep Learning

Quest reward: 180 experience points, unforgivable spell “Cruciatus”.

This is the first side quest where you can learn the Unforgivable Spell. Don’t worry, there is no morale system in the game, and learning or casting this spell will not lead to anything bad. Follow the marker to the right place and talk to Sebastian Sallow near the Slytherin common room. Move after him and talk again. Ominis Gaunt will appear. Use Revelio to light up the three brazier columns. Light them up quickly, one by one, to open a secret passage. Whether it matters or not, I lit the lone brazier in the right hallway first, and then the right and left braziers in the left hallway.

Climb down and use Reparo to repair the wall mural. Examine the note on the shelf on the left. Approach Ominis, who will subsequently speak a few phrases in Serpentine, and the door will open. Use “Lumio” in dark corridors. First go to the grate on the right and remember the top and bottom symbols. Move to the left, make your way into the room under the raised grate and inspect the snake statue. Rotate the two disks so as to set the two desired symbols from the adjacent grid. Be sure to first light the torch next to the puzzle.

Go through the opened grate, on the shelf on the left, find a note from Noctua Gaunt, a relative of Ominis. Examine the symbols on the door on the right. For now, you don’t need them. Go back to where Ominis sat down. Go left, where you came from. There will be another door with two symbols ahead. Memorize them and enter on the Slytherin castle on the left side. By the way, if you make a mistake, the snake will bite you, and you will receive minor damage. Go back to the previous locked door and memorize the symbols. Go back to where the door was just opened (near Sebastian), and in the back of the corridor you will find the Slytherin castle. Set the necessary symbols on it to open that very door. Go back through the new door and examine the wall. It’s a puzzle and you need to use Cruciatus on someone.

Be sure to agree with Sebastian Sallow when he offers to learn the spell. In this case, you can use it on Sebastian or say that Sallow himself should cast the spell on you. It doesn’t matter either, although in the second case you will take damage and have to use a healing potion.

You will enter Salazar Slytherin’s scriptorium. Pick up the spell book on the shelf in front. Collect the remaining loot and chat with Sebastian. Listen to what Ominis has to say outside the scriptorium and the quest will complete.

The fate of the house elf

Reward for completing the quest: 180 experience points, a new room for animals.

Chat with Deek in the Room of Rescue after completing the Astronomy and High Fort main quests. A new place for animals will appear in the room. Follow the marker to the desired cave. Along the way, as always, take a break and do side activities to earn experience and gear. Enter the Spinners’ Cave.

Go ahead and burn the web. Climb up the slope and jump over to the other side of the pit. Burn the web on the left to find an alcove with a chest. Kill the spiders, burn the web on the right and continue moving. Destroy the next spiked runners and other evil spirits. If you see cocoons on the walls, use a burning spell to destroy all the little things that sit inside them.

Keep going deeper into the cave. As you slide down, be prepared for the Spider Matriarch to appear. Burn the web on the left side and go around the adit along the perimeter. In the end, you have to fight Acromantula – a huge spider, reminiscent of the Runaway from another side quest. Act in the usual way, sparing no spells and ancient magic.

After the victory, jump onto the ledge on the left, burn the cobwebs, climb forward and destroy the boards. Examine the corpse of house elf Tobbs. Get down and look for a way out of the cave. Return to Deek and tell the tragic news.

Take a cookie

Quest reward: Beastsavior Robe, 180XP.

Before completing the second test, be sure to look into Hogsmeade to meet the goblin Garnaf under the bridge on the left side of the city. Talk to him and he will ask you to save Cookie. Now get to the bandit camp and finish off all the enemies. When you do this, open the lock on the animal cage. Use the grab bag to catch each animal. Coincident or not, the last animal I caught was Cookie. As soon as you see the appropriate notification, go back to Hogsmeade to turn in the quest to Garnaf.

Acne removal

Quest reward: Bubontuber Harvest Suit, 180XP.

Before completing the second challenge, be sure to stop by Hogsmeade to meet Sacharissa Tugwood at Timophylls and Toadstools. Listen to her to start a new side quest. Move into the territory of the Forbidden Forest until you find yourself in the highlighted area. There will be several spiders that you have to destroy. Use “Revelio” to highlight the environment. Look for large blue buds (in Revelio mode) growing on the ground. Collect them – these are bubontubers. I don’t know if you have to go to the Forest Troll’s cave or not, but I flew in on a broomstick and fell right into his paws. There is one bubontuber in the cave. Perhaps there are enough of them outside the cave to not go here.

Thief in the night

Quest reward: Niffler mask, 180 experience points.

The task can be taken from the local merchant Padrick Haggarty in Irondale, far south of Hogwarts. Switch from day to night using the map and the F key. Near Padrik’s shop, you will find bags of gold. Move on these pouches and coins. Kill the goblins along the way. Use “Revelio” to find the right path. Search dungeons, do side activities. All in all, don’t waste your time on the trip. Soon you will find the lair of some animal. Climb the hill on the left, go right and use the grab bag to catch the niffler, who is called the Thief of Irondale. Report everything to Padrick Haggarty.

Professor Hovin’s challenge
