Guide to the Summoner class in R2 Online

One of the most interesting and fun classes in R2 Online is the Summoner .

As you might guess from its name, this is a magician who specializes in summoning a wide variety of creatures that help him and his allies in battle. This character can show himself equally well both as a classic damage dealer and as a kind of support class. And his defensive skills are quite good. At the same time, despite the unusualness, this class is not so difficult to master, even for beginners.

The whole point is precisely in its versatility – it destroys opponents well, and itself is quite tenacious, and does not interfere with allies.

This class was the last to appear in the game. And it is still popular. The reason for its popularity is simple – the Summoner is not only fun and easy to learn, it is also effective.

But let’s talk about everything in order.

The main features of the Summoner class

Wears cloth, chain mail, plate, the main parameters of the Summoner are Dexterity and Intelligence

Our hero is not a classic magician in “rags” and rely solely on his own mind. He can very effectively use, for example, chain mail, or even heavy armor. The main parameters for him are Agility and Intelligence.

And, no matter how strange it may be, the main parameter is Agility.

It rises more strongly, gives a much more noticeable increase, which means that the equipment is selected specifically for it.

If we talk about skills, then there is quite a large “spread”.

There are those that are useful everywhere and always, and there are those that are practically impossible to find application for.

We will not consider all of them, and will go over only the most basic ones.

Summoner Skills

This class has skills that both damage and apply debuffs

Strong shot . It is given at 10th level, and is one of the simplest and most convenient spells. The skill allows you to immediately inflict critical damage to the enemy. Strength depends on many parameters, such as your level of pumping, weapon strength, and others. It’s cheap, recharges quickly, and works reliably. Used anytime, anywhere.

Summons Goblin Demoman . Your tame kamikaze. It appears at level 15, and deals damage to the group (distributed evenly to all opponents). It is inexpensive, it acts quickly, the main thing is that at least one enemy is within reach. Goblin can be shot by enemies (especially in PvP), but only if they have time to do it. In general, the skill is applied whenever possible.

Mastery of magic . Obtaining – 20th level. A power-up that increases the accuracy and power of your magic hits. A useful buff, what else to say.

Time distortion . We get it only at the 40th level. This is a buff that will come in handy more than once. It dramatically increases your attack speed, and it will be useful in any combat situation.

Most of the other skills are usually not that useful. Basically, these are debuffs, which, among other things, do little damage. At one time, the Abyss spell was very useful (it greatly reduced the speed of a group of your opponents). But, due to the constant changes, you better look at the situation, which of the skills will be useful in this patch. Look for either those that are guaranteed to deal good damage, or good debuffs that can not only weaken the enemy, but also do it for a more or less long time.

Totems at the Summoner of several types – restoring mana, life, absorbing damage

A separate topic is totems… All of them help in battle in one way or another, but some can be installed in a limited number. As with skills, there are totems of varying degrees of usefulness. But there are no completely useless ones here. Let’s go over the main ones:

  • Summons the Mana Tree. Obtained at level 20. It is the “trees” that can be installed only a limited number on the battlefield – if exactly, then only three pieces. The mana tree drains mana from opponents (which is especially nice in PvP), but at the same time it “aggregates” all mobs that fall under its influence.
  • Summons the Totem of Life. We get access to it only at 35th level. This skill can be called one of the most useful – this totem increases the health reserve and restores it to all allies who are in the area of  Use it whenever you need treatment.
  • Summon Totem Oried. One of the so-called “top” skills. It is given only at level 50, and allows all group members to ignore some of the damage received. The skill is expensive, which is why it is worth using it wisely. It works especially well in really serious “mixes”, as it greatly increases the survivability of the Summoner and his allies.

Of the passive skills, we need all those that increase the mana pool and its regeneration, as well as Dexterity and Intelligence – this is what concerns the General skill tree . In the Attack Tree, it is worth taking only the very first skills – the Empowered Shot, and, possibly, the Power of the Soul and the Strong Goblin Demoman. Well, in the tree of protection there are already options. You can further increase your mana reserve with the help of the Power of the soul, it is also worth taking Strength into Dexterity and strengthening those totems that you really need. That, in general, is all.
