Guide – Black Myth: Wukong Buddha Eye Locations

Finding the Buddha Eyes in the Fright Cliff area of Yellow Wind Ridge is one of the most challenging tasks in Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong . This deserted area, filled with living stone enemies, is already a maze in itself, so fully exploring and finding all six glowing heads holding an eye can take some time.

You also have to figure out what to do with those eyes. The item description mentions that they need to be inserted into something, but doesn’t give any clues as to what that might be.

Here’s where to find each Buddha Eye and what to do once you’ve collected them all to unlock their secret.

Buddha Eye Locations

There are a total of six eyes to find in the area, and the task is made a little easier by the fact that the Buddha heads that house them make sounds and glow when you get close. To collect an eye, simply interact with the head.

Here’s where to find each one:

  1. First Eye – Right after entering the location. From the Temple of the Guardian in the Valley of Despair, go across the wooden bridge, then through the gate guarded by the enemy boar, and follow the path to the right, where you will find the first head.
  2. Second Eye – From the Guardian Temple in Squall Hideout, head left up the ravine and through a gate. Pass a shrine with a seated statue, then turn left to see a torchlit altar with a large statue and Buddha head at the base.
  3. Third Eye – From the Guardian Temple in Hideout, turn right around the corner and you’ll immediately see wooden platforms in the distance. Head towards them, jumping across the cliffs in front of you. An enemy is guarding the stairs leading up, and on the platforms are enemies that shoot poison. Climb the stairs to the top platform with two shooting enemies to find the head.
  4. Fourth Eye – Find this one on the opposite side of the valley from the previous one, but at ground level. From the Temple of the Guardian, head right around the cliff and follow the left path next to the cliff enemy. Continue along the path and go up the stone steps to the left to find the head by the path.
  5. Fifth Eye – This eye is located near the Mother of Stones boss. From the Guardian’s Temple, head left up the ravine with the shooting enemy, through the gate and past the seated statue, then turn right into the torch cave and continue until you reach a wooden platform with two shooting enemies. Turn left and go up the path next to the three torches. Upon entering the boss room, the head will be outside on a ledge through the opening on the right.
  6. Sixth Eye – Travel to the Guardian Temple in Rockrest Flat and you should see a Buddha head straight ahead a short distance away.

How to use Buddha Eyes

Now that you have all six eyes, you can put them in place. Conveniently, the place to use them is right next to where you got the sixth eye. From the Guardian Temple in Rockrest Flat, head left to where the head was, then left again into the boss arena.

If you haven’t been here yet, you might want to fight the Stone Vanguard boss first, as planting the eyes will summon another boss and their interactions can be unpredictable.

After defeating the boss, you can insert the eyes into the large stone to the left of the entrance. Usually, interacting with this stone will read the text about the eyes, but if you have all six, you can insert them. This will summon the boss Shi Gandang, a multi-headed stone golem similar to the Stone Vanguard. Defeat him and you will receive the Skandha of Sensation, the second item you can get after the Skandha of Form in Black Wind Mountain.
