Here are some tips on how to complete Ghost of Tsushima . You should know all of these before diving into the world of Tsushima.
Which horse to choose?
It doesn’t matter. No horse can swim. Just pick the one you like best. Same with the name.
Supplies
There are a lot of resources scattered throughout Tsushima, which can be hidden in huts, lying around campfires or shrines. Heck, you even pick them up from enemy corpses. There are a lot of resources, most of which you will ignore at first, but the one thing you should definitely pick up is supplies.
Supplies are an important resource that you will need when upgrading your gear. Chances are that by the time you can upgrade your gear, you will have enough of the other resources, but lack supplies. Collect them from enemy camps, from each settlement you visit, from enemy corpses. Sell the rest of the resources to trappers to get half of their value in supplies.
Use determination to heal
Soon you’ll unlock the Ghost’s special attacks, which you can use in battles with Mongols, Bandits, and Straw Hats. It sounds tempting, but they consume resolve. And it’s best to save resolve for healing. Since you simply won’t have any other way to restore HP (except for charms that only give small bonuses to health or heal the Ghost outside of combat).
Taming the Cold Mountain
Ghost of Tsushima is not Zelda. When you reach the snowy north of the map, you will find an area inaccessible due to heavy snow and blizzards. You might think that you need a certain costume to get through it. But you don’t. It is connected not necessarily to a quest, but to one of the stories of ancient heroes that you hear from the musician Yamato. And during this quest, you will move up the mountain using fires.
Don’t be afraid to become a Ghost
Even though Jin Sakai is accused of dishonor and straying from the path of the samurai in the game, don’t dwell on it too much. You can’t really change his fate! He’ll still become the Ghost of Tsushima. So if you want, use stealth, backstab, etc. You don’t have to engage in open combat. It’s just an alternative. Use kunai and other Ghost tools for stealth kills. Throw a kunai and finish off an enemy with a katana. Use a bow, shoot Mongols between the eyes, throw sticky bombs, hide in smoke, etc.
Use smoke bombs as often as possible.
A very useful tool for the Ghost! It would seem that the smoke screen is often used for retreat, but due to the smoke, you can confuse enemies and attack them again as if you had sneaked up on an unsuspecting enemy from behind. This is especially effective if you have unlocked the ability to kill two or even three targets (stealthily)!
Ultra Ghost
Unlocked mid-game, it allows you to kill three enemies without taking damage. To reset the cooldown, kill enough enemies without taking damage (check the bar in the bottom right corner of the screen), or sneak up on the Mongol leader and execute him with a stealth attack. Moreover, you can save this ultimate for duels. But remember that one missed hit will immediately reset the accumulated energy.
Stances don’t matter in duels
Another controversial thing: stances do not matter in duels. While you need to switch between them in normal battles depending on the type of opponents, in duels this rule is forgotten. In general, you can use the stance against shield bearers in all duels. There is an effective strike associated with holding the “triangle” and then brutally combo with the same button. You will simply destroy the boss. Another good option is the stance against swordsmen, since in this case you automatically lock on the enemy.
You don’t have to complete all the quests and side quests before the end of the story.
After completing the storyline, the game will allow you to complete all unfinished side quests and stories. The same goes for finding collectibles, shrines, and so on.
