Genshin Impact Noelle Guide: Best Builds

Noelle is a truly unique character in the world of Genshin Impact. Yes, she has a 4-star rating, but that doesn’t stop her from bringing tremendous help to the party. She can be a great support that heals and protects allies from crushing attacks, or an additional fighter on par with the main one. For all Mondstadtians, Noelle is just a court maid who is not in demand. But the power that is hidden in her can be really very powerful.

Genshin Impact Character Noelle Overview

Modest and quiet Noelle, like many, was born in the heart of Mondstadt, and all her childhood she dreamed of joining the most powerful association – Ordo Favonius. But time passed, Noelle grew up, the work of a maid gradually washed away the dreams of iron armor and a steel sword. Of course, she managed to beg for lessons from the venerable knights of the order, watch battles and even help people, in between studies. Noelle’s strength is hidden in the Geo element, and her main weapon for battle is a two-handed sword.

Advantages and disadvantages of the character

Despite his outward modesty, Noelle shows quite decent performance in battle:

  • – Charged basic attack deals spinning damage to a number of nearby enemies, which synergizes well with her ultimate;
  • – excellent health recovery rate thanks to skills;
  • – good defense that protects not only Noelle, but also the entire squad from attacks.

Well, a few words about the shortcomings that the nice maid has:

  • – if you assemble her into a fighter, at the initial stages she will be very weak without her constellations;
  • – relatively low base attack value.

eatures and skills

Noelle is probably the most underrated character of all. Many players prefer to build her only as a damage dealer, forgetting that she is a great support.

Basic Skill – “Favonia Sword Style: Maid”

Noelle equips her greatsword and deals up to 4 slashes with her sword to enemies.

If the attack is charged, the maid will rush at enemies, spinning and knocking them back, wasting stamina. After spinning, she will strike the enemy again with her sword, causing massive damage.

If Noelle performs an attack on enemies from above while jumping, she will fall to the ground and deal a small amount of damage to all enemies within the radius.

Advice : it is better to interrupt a combo attack with a dash or ability activation. Any combo has a long and unnecessary animation in active combat. And even if it looks pretty nice, the damage is definitely not worth the wait.

Elemental Skill – “Armored Apron”

Noelle summons armor made of stone on her own. It will protect the squad and deal a relatively small percentage of damage to enemies. The stronger Noelle’s normal defense without an apron, the better the defense indicator works on all allied characters and herself. It is very important that the squad fights while the elemental is active, since “Armored Apron” directly depends on basic attacks. Also, while the skill lasts, all members are quite well protected from the elemental skill.

The shield will work on an ally or Noelle passively without using attacks if the health indicator has dropped below 30%. A very useful option when the battle has really exhausted the squad. The skill works even if you change Noelle to another character. A 100% support skill, very useful and necessary in battle.

Ultimate – “General Cleaning”

Another imba ult from the developers, for which they deserve special thanks. Noelle activates the skill and strengthens her sword. With the strengthening, she deals crazy Geo damage to enemies, after which:

  • The radius of normal attacks is significantly increased;
  • Attack power stacks with her own defense;
  • All attacks gain Geo status and are not cancelled by infusion effects of other elements.

It is worth noting once again. That Noelle is absolutely universal and not at all useless in the squad. Her ult is exclusively aimed at attack, and the elemental is completely dedicated to the defense of the squad. An insanely necessary and important character in the squad.

Passive Skill – “With All My Heart”

If the maid is not on the battlefield but is part of the team, an ally with less than 30% health will receive an “armor apron” shield. The shield absorbs up to 200% of damage for 20 seconds, while the passive itself has a one-minute cooldown.

Passive Skill – “Now it’s all clean”

Every fourth successful hit with a basic attack resets the Armored Fart by one second. It is important that if one attack hits several enemies at once, the attack still counts as one, not several.

Passive Skill – “Maid’s Care”

A useful skill outside of combat, Noelle has a 12% increased chance of cooking another dish – doubling the portions if she has already cooked one perfectly.

How to Play as Noelle in Genshin Impact

Noelle’s playstyle is directly dependent on her build. If she is played as an additional damage dealer, the emphasis is on covering the main fighter, not the team. At the same time, if she is packed as a support, Noelle will have to take care of the health and defense indicators of the entire squad and herself, without getting too involved in combat.

You can also put together a combined build – damage dealer + support, to combine two styles into one incredibly powerful and interesting one. But for this you will have to suffer a little with constellations.

In the game, it gives good Geo stats to enemies, which can be useful for almost all other elements to impose a crystallization reaction.

It’s important to keep an eye on her periodic attacks to keep her Armored Fart under control at all times and use it to protect your entire team from enemies.

Noell’s Best Builds in the Game

It’s worth considering the two most common builds for Noelle: a damage-dealing semi-support or a secondary damage dealer. The damage-dealing support build will usually start with the weapon, Prototype: Archaic. This is the simplest sword in Genshin Impact that can be crafted at a blacksmith. It gives a 50% chance that a charged attack will deal 300% of Noelle’s total damage. If desired, it can be replaced with something more powerful:

  • “Celestial Majesty” – a great weapon with passively stacking blades that will deal decent damage to enemy characters. There can be 8 blades, they appear from the ultimate, normal and charged attacks. A useful weapon when you need both damage and a little protection;
  • “Wolf’s Bane” – A versatile weapon that increases attack power when enemies are exhausted and have little health left. At the same time, the attack power of all allies is slightly increased.

When choosing artifacts, it is worth paying attention to the full set “Gladiator’s End”. The set increases the attack power of the active character and all members of the squad, and the latter by 35% if they use melee weapons, for example, the same two-handed sword. It is difficult to find a replacement for the gladiator, but for support, “Beloved Young Maiden” or the full set “Counter Comet” are great. The Maiden gives an advantage to the hero’s healing by as much as 15%, but “Counter Comet” will increase the shield by 35%. Considering that Noelle’s shield indicator is already decent, the comet will only add impenetrability to the squad.

What to build if Noelle will play the role of a damage dealer? Everything is very simple here: from weapons you can leave “Heavenly Majesty”, with its excellent indicators, it is simply irreplaceable. But if you don’t have it yet, an equally interesting sword – “White Shadow” can serve as an alternative. It will increase the defense and attack power indicators almost constantly, since its passive rolls back every second, but occurs only up to 4 times. For the sword to work, you just need to hit enemies with a normal attack or a charged one. From the artifacts, the universal “Counter Comet” will be suitable in Noelle’s case. Her full set will give an advantage not only to the shield, but also to the attack of as much as 40% for the basic skill.

How to properly level up Noel

Pumping up a hero consistently starts with his constellations. First of all, it is worth highlighting the 1st, 4th and last constellation, since 3rd and 5th simply increase the skill level, and 2nd is debatable, it can be pumped at will.

  1. “I’ll cover you.” Using the Ultimate and Elemental at the same time increases the chance of healing with “Armored Aperture” to 100%.
  2. “Maid in the Wind” Increases Noelle’s attack damage by 15% and reduces stamina consumption by 30% when using a charged combo attack in battle.
  3. “Unlucky Maid”. Increases the level of the apron by 3. Can be increased to 15 levels in total.
  4. “Everything will be clear.” If the shield’s duration ends or the shield itself is broken by enemies, the skill will passively deal massive Geo damage equal to 400% of Noelle’s attack power.
  5. “Knight of the Broom and Brush”. Increases the ultimate skill by 3 units. Can be increased to a maximum of 15.
  6. “Stain Remover”. The ultimate skill will increase the attack power, supplemented by Noelle’s defense by 50%. At the same time, each defeated enemy will increase the effect of the ultimate by another second, if it was already activated. The maximum effect of the ultimate in this way can be increased to 10 seconds.

When leveling up Noelle’s talents, she will need to train her detective skills a little, because for them she needs to find: several broken, dirty and sinister masks, all the books about the “Struggle” – teachings, instructions and philosophy, as well as Dwalin’s claws and the only Crown of Insight.

With elevations, everything looks a little more transparent. Here, in addition to the mora, you will need a mountain of felt boots, everything related to the Topaz of Pritihiv – pieces, shards, fragments and the Topaz itself, as well as all the masks needed for talents and a basalt column.

Leveling up will of course start with “Armored Fart” and the Ultimate without fail. If it is assumed that Noel is the main fighter, the basic skill with attacks is also necessarily leveled up. Passives, as always, are leveled up at will.

Secrets and tips

Playing as Noelle is a whole adventure, where she is a little maid with a huge sword at the ready, fighting with fat bosses and periodically defending herself with her shield.

In case of damage tactics, Noelle will suit a squad, which will have another obligatory Geo character, to enhance elemental damage. An example of such a squad: Albedo, Noelle, Bennett, Xing Qiu. The latter with Pyro and Hydro damage, Xing Qiu on stable support with Albedo, and Bennett will make an excellent pair in damage maid.

If desired, the squad can be changed, leaving only Bennett and Noelle, and attaching Diluc and Ning Guang to them. Here, Noelle will have a stable and very important support role with an increase in elemental reactions.

The easiest build option for a squad in which Noelle is the main damage dealer: Xiangling, Zhongli, Bennett. An ideal build with two shields and good stable damage.

Same option, but Noelle changes her role to support, along with Sucrose. Then the squad will look like this: Hu Tao, Sucrose, Noelle, Xing Qiu. Here the game will depend on the strong shield of the maid.

The little underrated and forgotten maid can be a great combat ally. She has very useful and important abilities. And even though her attacks are not as devastating as Razor’s, and her shield does not last as long as Zhongli’s shield, she still brings a lot of benefit to the party, and to herself. A truly versatile character that can be assembled based solely on your own preferences.
