Genshin Impact version 2.6 introduces an entirely new world boss within the newly discovered area of Chasm which is located in the southwestern region of Liyue. He’s another blight enemy, so he’s a bit more involved than just using the correct elemental weaknesses. If he has problems, we have some advice. Here is how to beat the Ruin Serpent boss in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact Ruin Snake Boss Guide
The first thing to do before attempting to take on this boss is to upgrade the Lumenstone Adjuvant device to level two. He can do this by talking to Jinwu at the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel camp in The Chasm.
Complete the Chasm Spelunkers quest to receive Lumenstone Ore, an item Jinwu needs to refine the adjuvant. Getting the device to level two will allow you to destroy the dark purple Oozing Concretions that the boss summons, which can lower his attack and even paralyze him.
How to beat the Ruins Serpent in The Chasm
Now that the preparations are done, it’s time to start the fight. Since he is a ruinous enemy, he is equally resistant to all elemental damage. This means that you can choose a favorite elemental team composition.
That said, aim to prioritize ranged or AOE attackers like Ganyu, Yoimiya, Venti, or Fischl to hit the snake’s weak points from a safe distance. The exception to that is if you have close range physical DPS with great supports to keep them alive like Zhongli, Diona, and Bennett, or even Barbara and Qiqi.
Also, consider bringing in a Claymore user or a character that will launch it through the air like Kazuha or Venti who can help destroy the ore as quickly as possible. You will need to break gold ore like the one shown in the image below to refill the adjuvant.
Ruin Serpent will start things off by draining the Lumenstone adjuvant, but you can avoid this if you don’t have it equipped at the start of the fight and then re-equip it. So he will probably create those Oozing Concretions that I mentioned earlier. Break the shiny golden ore that appears and use it to get rid of them as soon as possible, as the boss can absorb them for a benefit.
The snake will glow at certain points on its body when this charge occurs. If you manage to destroy all the Concretions before the charge ends, the boss will be paralyzed. Alternatively, he can also hit all the glowing spots on his body to paralyze him if the Lumenstone adjuvant is drained.
It’s even possible to trigger the charge by destroying all but one Concretion before the charge starts, then destroy the one you left behind to cripple the snake quickly once the charge actually starts. Paralysis moments are your chances to deal the most damage, so don’t waste them.
