Genshin Impact 5.0; characters and banners

Genshin Impact is expecting a major update very soon – version 5.0 will be available at the end of August. The developers have already managed to share the first details about the Natlan region and new characters in trailers and announcements. In addition, the beta test of the update started in mid-July, and there is already enough information about patch 5.0 on the Internet.

Genshin Impact 5.0 Release Date

According to the schedule, version 5.0 in Genshin Impact will be released on August 28, 2024. Two days before the release, from the morning of August 26, the patch can be pre-downloaded on your phone or PC to start playing immediately after the opening of the servers.

The developer stream dedicated to this update will take place two weeks before the release – on August 16, 2024 at approximately 15:00 Moscow time. You can watch it on Twitch and YouTube – all the official information will be there.

Genshin Impact 5.0 Key Details 

To begin with, we will try to briefly describe everything that awaits players in the upcoming update. In fact, this is a regular patch with a new region, which are released once a year – for example, last August it was version 4.0 with Fontaine.

So, in Genshin Impact 5.0 we expect to see:

— a new region, Natlan, inspired by Latin American culture. It will likely feature both new mechanics and old exploration elements — riddle chests, time trials, side quests with NPCs, and so on;

– a new chapter of the main plot: the main character continues to uncover the mystery of his twin’s disappearance, getting to know the secrets of the “region of eternal war”. We will meet the archon and the different peoples of Natlan;

— playable characters, previously shown in a separate trailer. Three of them will be released in version 5.0: Mualani, Kachina and Kinich;

mounts that will allow you to move faster around the territory of Natlan. Each hero of the new region will have his own unique mount — the mechanics will work only in Natlan, like the underwater world in Fontaine and flights to Sumeru;

– new combat mechanic Night Spirit, unique to different heroes of Natlan;

– new weapons and artifacts. Some equipment can be obtained for free through crafting, others will drop from banners. Artifacts can be knocked out of new dungeons located on the territory of Natlan;

– various small updates and innovations. Among them, for example, a new level of the world, which strengthens the enemies around and increases the rewards for killing them.

New Characters in Genshin Impact 5.0

In the first Natlan patch, three characters will definitely be playable – five-star Mualani and Kinich, as well as four-star Kachina. 

There will also be a pyro version of the Traveler in the game, but there is little information about it: some speculate that the main character will only receive a new power in 5.1 or 5.2.

Mualani in Genshin Impact

This is the first character who will meet us in Natlan and will help us on our journey. Mualani is an experienced guide who knows all the roads in the pyro-country.

All of the girl’s abilities are aimed at causing large hydro damage over an area, so Mualani can act as the main damage dealer. 

Kinich in Genshin Impact

The second new character will also be damage-focused. A tough and experienced saurian hunter, he can deal a lot of dendro damage, working well in combination with hydro and pyro characters. Other gameplay details are still unknown.

Kachina in Genshin Impact

The first patch of a new region usually brings a free character, so the baby from the Echo Children clan may be given for an event or quests in Natlan. 

If this doesn’t happen, Kachina will still be easy to get, and starting with patch 5.1, she, like all four-star heroes, will also drop from the standard banner.

Probably will be a good addition for fans of geo-squads.

Other characters 

The rest of Natlan’s heroes will become playable in future updates. So far, insiders are suggesting the following events:

• Shilonen (Geo Swordswoman) and Chaska (Cryo Archer) will be coming in 5.1.
• Mavuika and Ororon, as the main characters of the final part of the story, may be released together with version 5.2.
• Capitano will become playable, but not very soon – perhaps after 5.2, like Arlecchino.
• Sitlali will not appear from 5.0 to 5.2, but will become playable in 2025.
• Iansan is probably expecting the same thing – there is no information about the hero yet. 
• Madam Ping will be appearing in update 5.4 – the Liyue adept will be released in early 2025 in honor of the Chinese New Year.

At the same time, almost all of these new characters will appear in the 5.0 story, except for Capitano and Madame Pin, who will appear before players later.

Genshin Impact Version 5.0 Banners

Paired banners in the first patch of a region usually contain one new character and one rerun. At the same time, Zhongli was previously returned in x.0 – now insiders claim that Kadhzuha will appear in the prayer of events.

Most likely, the four-headed Kachina will be in the first half. Also, at the same time as the new heroes, weapon banners from Mualani and Kinich will be opened.

Prayer of Chronicles in Genshin Impact 5.0

Some players are also hoping for the return of the “regional banner,” which has only been added to Genshin once so far. 

Here are the characters that can get there:

• Gan Yu;
• Tartaglia;
• Zhong Li;
• Hu Tao;
• Ye Lan;
• Qi Qi;
• Ke Qing.

However, there is no exact information about the return of the Chronicles Prayer to the game yet.

New Natlan Region in Genshin Impact – Photos and Details

Initially, Natlan was described as a fiery region of eternal war: players imagined it as a gloomy country with volcanoes and hot earth. However, the authors decided otherwise and made Natlan bright. At the same time, it will have dark areas with dangerous lava, but the setting of Latin America is used in the main territory.

As usual, the new location is a large number of different activities. Searching for chests, fighting new unique enemies and bosses, dungeons with artifacts, puzzles and Easter eggs – all this can captivate you for several days.

Judging by the first leaks, the Natlan map will be very large already in the first update: it is compared to the Sumeru region. It is worth considering that in versions 5.1 and 5.2 the new location will be further expanded.

Other innovations in Genshin 5.0

The “zero” patch in Genshin Impact is always the basis for new mechanics and various updates that players have long been asking for.

Here are just a few of them, already revealed by beta testers:

– New, 9th level of the world: after adventure rank 58, you will be able to pass the test and increase the difficulty of enemies in the open world to increase the rewards;

— the game will feature a feature for tracking curiosities, which should make farming them easier;

an item will appear that can be exchanged for an artifact from the desired set with the desired main characteristic, like self-modeling resin in Honkai Star Rail;

— the load limit in the Teapot of Serenity will be raised, which will allow you to place more furniture and other parts on the location;

— The Imaginarium Theater will also receive an update. The new season will feature the elements of pyro, dendro, and hydro, as well as updated rewards and enemy room composition.

Rewards in Genshin Impact 5.0

According to calculations, players will be able to farm more than 110 spins for completing tasks, exploring locations and events, and with a battle pass this number will increase to 150.

We might also get a free 4-star, which will likely be Kachina, as well as a 4-star catalyst that Mualani can use.

Also, as always in a new region, new recipes for crafting weapons, furniture in a teapot and other exclusive Natlan rewards.
