The Epic game has different loot boxes and we tell you what they are and the main differences between them.
If you had to name which elements of Fortnite haven’t changed since launch, would you be able to point to any? Many of you would surely point to loot boxes . Because of the nature of Battle Royale , players always start matches “naked” . And that’s when it’s time to look for weapons and supplies. Today we’ll tell you about the different types of boxes that we can find in a match and what each one offers .
All Fortnite Loot Boxes
In total, the Epic Games game makes four types of boxes available to players . And depending on what we need at any given time, one or the other will suit us better. That’s why it’s important to know how to identify them and know what they may contain. They are the following:
The chests
This is the most common loot box in the game. Classic chests that are easy to recognize by their aesthetics. However, you should know that there can also be different types. Mainly, we will find the generic ones; but from time to time we will also find special chests , such as the legendary ones (which have better loot).
Chests can contain any type of item and of any rarity . But as a loot box, what they contain is always random. On the other hand, although chests appear randomly on the map , they generally always appear in similar areas. For example, you will find many of them in the attics of houses. Without a doubt, a good place to look at when you start the game.
Supply Boxes
Much like Metal Gear Solid’s Fulton Rescue System , Supply Drops are loot boxes that are dropped in a sort of balloon-shaped parachute . They are blue in color and fall throughout the entire game. Generally, however, they start to appear once the first circle of the Storm has been reduced.
The most interesting thing is that when they appear, they are indicated on the map by a blue box icon. If they are opened by a player, the icon disappears from the map instantly. And another very cool detail is that we can shoot the balloons and make them fall from the sky sooner.
The type of content they drop is similar to chests, but of higher quality . In fact, we can find epic or legendary equipment inside. They even usually contain a trap and some healing objective (life or shield). They are of vital importance in the Team Rumble game mode .
The Flames
Some of you will fondly remember Viva Piñata . Others will simply associate these multicoloured llamas with Fortnite’s most prized loot box (and with being the game’s mascot, of course). They appear in every match, yes, but in dribs and drabs. And not only that, but opening them also entails a greater risk .
In other words, it will take us longer to get them, which will leave us more exposed. What do they contain? You may ask. Well, Epic has a sense of humor, since they barely carry any weapons. In fact, they almost always offer support items, healing items , and the occasional trap.
Ammunition boxes
Finally, we end with a loot box whose name makes it clear what the content will be if we open it. Indeed, we will find ammunition inside . The peculiarity here is that it will be ammunition for different weapons and at random . In this case, you should know that the boxes do not appear on the map, but it is also true that they are found in abundance. Also, there are two sizes . Logically, the larger the size, the more ammunition inside.
From there, keep in mind that throughout the seasons, Epic has been introducing different subtypes of these loot boxes, including some that directly contain a specific weapon.
