Review

It contains unflattering depictions of US President Donald Trump’s behavior , chaotic interactions between the White House Senior Staff, and disparaging remarks about the Trump family by former Chief White House strategist Steve Bannon .

The book describes that:

  • Donald Trump never believed that he was going to win the election.
  • And when he did, he froze like a ghost. A stupor of which, once he was sworn in as president, he seemed to remain in prison: he did not process information, did not read or even look at the reports. He was a ‘big boy’ who snoring the toilet for touching his toothbrush and was paralyzed by complex issues.
  • Donald Trump did not want to be president of the United States and only ran for the 2016 election to achieve publicity and business.
  • Ivanka Trump has presidential aspirations and that Melania cried – and not with joy – when she learned of her husband’s electoral victory.

Reactions

They advanced the sale of the book due to a possible legal action by the president’s lawyers.

  • Donald Trump tried to stop a devastating book from his White House and in response the publisher advanced its publication by five days.
  • The Republican Administration decided to sue Steve Bannon , displaced from his advisory position, for violating the confidentiality agreement while attempting to block the distribution of the book.
  • The lawyers are ready to accuse the publisher of “defamation.”
  • Trump claimed that he “never spoke” to the author of the “fake book.”
  • Wolff wrote a long article explaining its genesis, defending its contents and presenting a devastating interior portrait of the presidency, with a government consumed by internal struggles, without clear priorities and dominated, according to the work, by an extravagant and capricious personality found in its instincts his best advisor ”.
  • The Spanish newspaper El País wrote: … “the work has become pure poison for the White House. There are hurtful quotes everywhere and personalities from Trump’s inner circle, such as Bannon himself or former Deputy Chief of Staff, Katie Walsh, revealing the blushing details of life in the Oval Office. Such is its explosive charge that the distribution of some extracts has been enough to put the White House in combat mode.

The author

Michael Wolff – 64-year-old journalist who has written for Vanity Fair, The Guardian and Hollywood Reporter, has previously received criticism for his tendency to exaggerate and describe scenes without citing sources present. However, in this case, the journalist relies on more than 200 testimonies from people close to Trump and privileged access to the White House.

As he told NBC, he verified that “100% of those around him” question whether the current president really has the conditions to lead the destinies of the White House.

“Everyone has described him in the same way, they say he is like a child, what they mean is that he needs immediate satisfaction, everything revolves around him” … “It is necessary to bear in mind that he is a man who does not read , a man who does not listen “.
