Mojang
just released Minecraft Dungeon and they’re already starting to tease
what’s to come. The base game came with just nine levels for players to
brush up on multiple times, so it’s great to see more things coming up so fast. Here
‘s everything we know so far about the first DLC pack, Jungle Awakens.

Release date

First of all, the release window for the Jungle Awakens DLC is set for July 2020. There is no exact release date for the DLC yet, but we know it will arrive this summer and we are expecting the second DLC pack, called Creeping Winter. which will be available in September, although that speculation comes from a Nintendo Switch eShop leak. The second package name is confirmed, not the release window. Microsoft is hosting a digital event in July to review what Xbox Game Studio teams are working on, so it could potentially be when we learn when to expect DLC release dates to be revealed.

If you own the Minecraft Dungeon Hero Edition , you will have instant access to both DLCs when they are released. It is not yet known whether Game Pass subscribers will have access without purchasing the DLC separately. In the past, it mostly depended on the game whether its DLC was available for Game Pass or not.

Jungle Awakens: all the details on the new content

Jungle Awakens will present three brand new missions to play. Each should include all the various difficulty levels found in the main game. Also included will be the debut of brand new mobs to face. The Leapleaf, Jungle Zombie, and Poison Quill Vine are the three given names with the most promise of being on the way. The image below was given in the confirmation blog, showing the mobs mentioned above in action.

The jungle zombie is near the bottom and appears to be wrapped in vines. Could this potentially give him a slight boost in armor? The big huge crowd could be Poison Quill Vine. This could be a mini-boss like the Redstone Golem in the current iteration of the game. Given its name, it will probably fire poisoned bullets. If this is true, this leaves the creature as yellow as the Leapleaf. Aside from the hammer he’s wearing, we don’t see any real clues as to what the creature is doing, but the falling lights could mean something.

While it wasn’t explicitly revealed in the announcement, you should expect new weapons and armor to come alongside the DLC if they haven’t already been made available through the free content that will arrive in game in the coming months, as confirmed in the blog post as well. Of this “awesome new free content” that is coming, cross-platform play features will also come, although no planned version has been released.

While no gameplay of the upcoming DLC has been given, Mojang has promised there will be more news in the coming weeks, so be sure to stay tuned to Gamepur for future Minecraft Dungeon news and guides.
