Video games exist so that we can live out our dreams and become whoever we want, so there is no particular point in signing up with your real name. That is why we come up with different cool, witty and stupid nicknames in social networks, games and various gaming services. The problem is that you can’t always change your nickname if you suddenly don’t like it or you come up with something better. One of the many advantages of the Epic Games digital store is that it is possible and can be done in just a couple of clicks.
How to change nickname in Epic Games profile
To do this, you need to go to your account settings, which you can do either by clicking the corresponding menu item in the launcher, or simply by going to the official Epic Games website via a direct link: https://www.epicgames.com/account/personal
Next, log in using the same username and password that you use to log into the Epic Games Store .
In the settings, one of the first fields you will see is the “Display Name” field. Click on the icon next to it and you will be able to edit it.
Next, in the window that opens, all you have to do is write down a new nickname, read the warning that you won’t be able to change your choice for two weeks, click “Confirm”, and then “Save changes” on the page itself. However, before that, we would advise you to do one more thing.
Before you come up with a new nickname, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with all the Epic Games community rules on this matter, so that you don’t have to change your name again due to an offensive or inappropriate nickname.
How to change nickname on all linked Epic Games accounts
If you’ve used the convenient feature of linking your Epic Games account to profiles on other platforms and want to be known everywhere by the same name, unfortunately, there is no simple and universal solution yet due to different policies of the services .
You will have to go into each of your profiles separately and do it yourself, whether it is an Xbox, PlayStation or Steam account. By the way, we also have a separate guide for the latter case .
