Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to Find the Secret Merchant

Dragon’s Dogma 2 features a secret merchant who goes unnoticed because he’s not a character you’d expect to be selling you the best items… Here’s how to find him.

Merchants in RPGs are of vital importance to the player, and in Dragon’s Dogma 2 the matter was not going to be different. However, within the game there is a specific merchant that is almost essential to get the most out of this sequel.

In Dragon’s Dogma 2 there is a secret merchant who will allow you to access very interesting and unique items. How can you unlock this merchant? Well, in this guide we are going to tell you, step by step, what you need to do.

It’s not about a unique location or being blessed with the gift of luck to find it, but rather you’ll have to complete a specific quest that some players overlook . So write everything down so you don’t miss anything.

How to find the secret merchant in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The first step is to visit Vernworth Castle during the day and look for a guard named Roman. This guard will task you with bringing a sword to a blacksmith in the town of Balbattahl . Take a nice walk and head to Brokkr’s smithy .

The problem is that Brokkr has retired, so you’ll have to turn to Sara , his apprentice, if you want to upgrade the weapon. She’ll task you with getting some materials. You’ll need to get some charcoal glow , a good amount of it (25).

Once you have them, you will have to wait a day after delivering them to Sara. However, the quest will require you to go find the blacksmith at the Zócalo Cave , an area located in the south of the map. There is a direct path from the city, but you better be prepared.

Head into the large cave and find Sara to escort her out. The quest will end and you can return to Balbattahl and the smithy, where Sara will become a merchant with a few useful resources.

Some of the best weapons and armor in the game for levels 20-40 can now be purchased in Sara’s shop. Plus, if you gift her a large number of items you can receive a 20% discount on her products.

Don’t forget to return the sword to Roman to collect the reward. Are you playing this sequel? Well, you should know that the new Dragon’s Dogma 2 update fixes one of the most annoying problems .
