Demon’s Souls Remake tips and tricks

After years of speculation and gossip, Demon’s Souls Remake is finally out and fans are ready for a surprise.

With completely updated graphics and animations, but with the same fan-favorite gameplay mechanics, Demon’s Souls Remake is a treat for fans of Souls-like games.

Choose the starting class and the right item
As soon as you decide to embark on this adventure, you’ll need to choose a class that will have a significant impact on your gameplay.

For starters, the Knight, Soldier, Temple Knight, and Royal class are among the recommended choices as they come with pretty decent basic amor, weapons, and stats.

You can also choose a starter item and the best solution for this is the Ring of Providence as it not only increases your luck but also increases the drop rates of healing items and crafting materials.

Explore Nexus!
Once you’ve been killed for the first time, whether it’s at the hands of the Vanguard Demon or the Dragon God, you’ll be sent to the Nexus.

Here you will meet key game characters, merchants and support allies, and you can level up your gear.

An interesting feature of Nexus is that it tracks the location of the online community.

As you play the game, you will find more and more new characters entering the game, offering you new items, spells and locations to explore.

One such character is Maiden, who will help players level up through collected souls.

There are a total of 5 different worlds / Archstones in Nexus that you can explore; the Boletarian Palace, the Stone Fang Tunnel, the Desecration Valley, the Latria Tower and the Shrine of Storms

You have access to all of these Arcies after defeating the boss Phalanx in the Boletarian Palace.

Whenever you’ve defeated a boss in one of these Archstones, the next boss or enemies you face will be more challenging, so it’s best if you go ahead and try your luck in some other Archstone to give yourself some sort of break.

After that, you can return to the previous Archstone and continue progressing.

Choose only the items you need!
Each item you have in your inventory has a specific weight attached to it and once these items exceed your character’s resistance, your character’s movement will be impaired.

With this in mind, you need to make sure that you only choose items that are actually valuable to you.

On the plus side, there is the ability to dump the replacement items, unused equipment, and crafting materials into the game’s storage boxes by speaking to Thomas Accumulation first.

However, you will not be able to use the items while they are inside the storage boxes.

Be useful with the message system!
The message system can be used to inform other players about upcoming threats and nearby objects.

You can also choose to use your message to mislead other players or, more importantly, get a health boost for yourself.

In order for you to increase your health, the player who sees your message must give it a positive answer.

This health boost can be extremely beneficial to you, especially when exploring a long dungeon.

Stay calm in combat!
In Demon’s Souls Remake, you will engage in countless battles throughout the game.

The key to overcoming these battles is to be patient and keep a cool head.

Don’t rush into an enemy every time you see one. Give yourself some time to think about your strategy while taking a defensive approach.

The time it takes you will also vanish the enemy and will not be able to block any moves you decide to make once you take an offensive.

Taking back humanity
Once you die in Demon’s Souls, you will lose your humanity and resume the game with less HP.

The game will get harder for you but the rewards will be much better than before.

However, if you want an easy way out, the best way to do this is to get your humanity back and there are four ways to do it.

The first is that you kill a boss and get his Demon’s Soul. You can also use an ephemeral eye stone to do the same things.

The other two modes are recommended for players with at least intermediate experience.

You can become a black ghost and kill another player or help another player defeat a boss as Blue Phantom.

Using any of the aforementioned methods to recover your humanity will also guarantee you full HP.

Choose the right world trend!
There are two types of trends in Demon’s Souls: Pure White and Pure Black. In Pure White Tendency, you’ll face easier enemies and get less valuable loot.

Conversely, in Pure Black Tendency, you will face tougher enemies and earn more valuable rewards.

For starters, we recommend following the pure white trend to get used to the style of play.

You can check the type of trend in your world by going to the pause menu> trends tab.

There are some actions you can take to shift your worldwide trend towards pure white or pure black. Below, we have enlisted them all.

Pure white trend

  • Kill dragons in the first world: the blue or red dragon gives you 1 point.
  • Kill the black ghosts: there are five of them, each gives 1 point.
  • Kill Invading Black Phantom: Gives you 1 point.
  • Kill a boss in any world: it gives you 1 point.
  • Kill a primal demon: it gives you 3 points.

Pure black trend

  • Kill King Doran in a one-on-one battle.
  • Kill the human NPC.
  • Die outside the Nexus in human form: it gives you -1 point
