Dark Age: Pets, Mounts Guide

In this Dark Age guide, you will learn the intricacies of handling animals, pets, mounts in the world of Eira. A huge number of species of various fauna is a special pride of the creators of Dark Age . And this applies not only to riding animals, which each race has its own, but also to other mounts that live in the vast expanses of Eira. Such furry and tailed companions will not only speed up movement around locations, but can become a real combat unit in battles with monsters. And this guide is entirely dedicated to the pets that you can find in the game.

Pets and mounts

All animals in Dark Age can be divided into two large groups:

  • pets – creatures that can be tamed and used as an assistant in battles and travels. There are about a hundred of them in total. And each of the pets is endowed with its own unique skills and abilities, eats certain food and is given for completing special tasks;
  • Mounts are animals that can be used as mounts. Initially, each of the six races is given its own specific mount . Over time, after reaching a certain level, the first mount can be replaced with a stronger, more durable animal. In total, Dark Age has more than fifty mounts, ranging from stallions and battle panthers to such exotics as the Book of Knowledge, the Star Dragon, or a penguin analogue called Ping Wing.

More about pets

The main purpose of keeping pets (aka pets) can be called the use of their basic skills and abilities. When passing Dark Age, pets can significantly facilitate existence and help in pumping your hero. After all, most of their abilities (invulnerability, weakening the enemy or buffs of your character) can be used both in battles and during travels around Eira.

You can get one of the pets after reaching level ten. To do this, you will need to talk to Rachel (she lives in Freeport, in the Blossoming Boulevard area) and take a special task from this girl. As soon as the character reaches level thirty, you will be able to teach the pet additional skills.

When choosing a pet, you need to start from the class to which your hero belongs. For example, “tanks” are recommended to get a pet that deals additional damage to enemies. But “damage dealers” are better off taking a “tanking” pet that will distract enemies and absorb some of the damage from their spells and physical attacks.

Each animal needs to be fed and treated, not just upgraded. Monitor the various indicators of the animal (for example, its satiety) so that your creature is always happy with its owner.

More about riding animals

Mounts can safely be called the main form of transport in Dark Age . It is with their help that your character will overcome huge distances much faster. After all, you don’t want to waste time getting from point A to point B on foot? Also, some of the mounts can cross water obstacles, so you don’t have to make circles to the nearest crossing to cross a river or any other body of water.

There are several ways to get a mount:

  1. Purchase for Spirit or Eira leaves in the gallery.
  2. Receive in the Gift Sphere.
  3. Buy at auction or from other users for a certain amount of gold coins.
  4. Obtain from Shalya’s shop.
  5. Receive honor from faction agents.
  6. Buy from guild base commandants for gold.
  7. Receive as a reward after completing the two hundredth achievement.
  8. Win in the arena.

In total, there are more than fifty riding animals in Dark Age, each of which, as well as pets, is endowed with its own unique abilities and characteristics. You can acquire one or another mount upon reaching a certain level. Depending on the skills of the beast, this threshold can vary from the tenth to the fiftieth level. Good luck in mastering new animals in the world of Dark Age.
