Changli from Wuthering Waves – Character Guide and Build

The ranks of the Fire Resonators are growing. On July 22, Kuro Games added Changli, an advisor to the Jinzhou Magistrate, to Wuthering Waves , who helps Rover on his journey to the new territory.

Below we will analyze the build for Chanli, select weapons, echo and command, and also give some tips on leveling.

About the character

Changli is an experienced advisor to Jinzhou. She mentors Jinxi and helps her in her position. In addition, the girl knows the weaknesses of human nature, and easily leads criminals into traps, helping soldiers and city guards.

In combat, Chanli uses a one-handed sword and the element of fire, and her main damage comes from her ult and skill. 

How to get

You can try out the test run and get Chanli from July 22 to August 12, 2024. In addition to the advisor herself, the Vermillion’s Ploy banner includes Baizhi, Taoqi, and Mortefi.

Recommended stats

Chanli is recommended to play as the main damage dealer or support DD, but it is more difficult for her to realize her potential in the second role, since it is desirable to have as many as 4 resonance chains. So when pumping, it is best to focus on gaining attack power and good crit rates. It will also not be superfluous to restore energy and strengthen her ult and skill, since they are the main sources of damage.

The recommended stats are as follows:

Basic attacks

	Mid-air Attack	Consumes a small amount of stamina and activates a combo of four attacks in the air, each containing a fire element. After the fourth hit, enters a True Sight state for 12 seconds.
	Mid-Air Heavy Attack / Mid-Air Heavy Attack	After using an aerial combo or a normal attack on the ground, hold the basic attack button to spend some stamina and perform a falling attack that deals fire damage. The next basic attack automatically becomes the third in the combo.
	Dodge Counter/Counterattack	After successfully dodging, press the basic attack button to perform a counterattack.
Tripartite Flames	Resonance Skill / E-shka	True Sight: Capture When activated, Chanli dashes towards the enemy and enters a True Sight stance that lasts for 12 seconds. At the end of the activation, she performs an air strike. During the stance, Chanli has two True Sight: Capture stacks. Their number can increase by 1 every 12 seconds while the stance lasts. Basic Attack: True Sight – Conquest If Chanli uses a basic attack while on the ground during the stance, she will dash towards the enemy and deal fire damage. After this attack, the stance will end. Basic Attack: True Sight – Charge During the stance, when using an attack in mid-air, Chanli will rush towards the enemy and hit them with fire. After this, the True Sight state ends.

Priority of pumping

Since Chanli is mainly the main damage dealer in the squad, you will need to upgrade her ult first. Most of the damage comes from it, so it is important to invest in it for maximum DPS. In addition, this way you will be able to buff the advisor yourself.

In second place in importance are the skill and the resonance scale. They are equally important and are actively used in combat. In third place are the Outro skill and the basic attack. And if everything is clear with the basic attack and you will almost never use regular attacks, then the Outro skill can be useful for other Fusion characters in the squad.

Lastly, we pump up the Intro-skill. Chanli is on the field most of the time and in fact we only need this skill to get a stance when appearing on the field.

Weapons for Changli

Commando of Conviction	6.8–30.3% attack power	When activated, Intro increases attack power by 15-30% for 15 seconds. Lunar Cutter	6.75–30.38% attack power	Upon entering combat, the wearer gains 6 levels of Oath status. Each of them provides 2-4% attack power. The bonus stacks up to 6 times and is triggered once every 12 seconds. The number of levels decreases by 1 every 2 seconds.	A good option for teams with fast character swaps. The bonuses last long enough for Chanli to complete her rotation and swap with an ally.
Overture	11.52–51.84% energy recovery	When the skill is activated, it restores 8-16 units of Concert energy. It works once every 20 seconds.	Best option if Chanli is used as a support DD for another hero. Helps to accumulate Concerta energy and ult faster.

Which Echo to install?

Molten Rift

The best set to put on Chanli is Molten Rift. Two Echoes from the set give 10% fire damage, and 5 Echoes for 15 seconds increase this bonus by another 30% after using the skill. In addition, the first slot is equipped with the Inferno Rider boss, which is quite useful in combat and for exploration.

When the Echo skill is activated, the Resonator transforms into Inferno Rider and performs 3 slashes. After the final strike, the character gains a 12% bonus to fire damage, and the damage of his basic attacks increases by 12% for 15 seconds.

While exploring the world, you can also hold down the Echo button and transform into him, entering the “illegal racer” mode. After the transformation ends, it will go into cooldown for 20 seconds.

Moonlit Clouds

This set is suitable if you want to use Chanli as a support DD. This way you will not only cover the energy recovery problems, but also buff the next Resonator. Two Echoes from the set give 10% energy recovery, and 5 Echoes buff the next Resonator after the carrier who enters the field by 22.5% for 15 seconds.

In this case, we put Impermanence Heron on the first slot. It restores 10% of energy to the ult when hit by its attacks, and also buffs the next active resonator, increasing its damage by 12% for 15 seconds when the wearer activates the Outro skill.

2+2 combo

Well, another option for damage Chanli is a 2+2 combo for attack and fire damage. This way we get nice buffs without the extra hassle of picking up 5 Echoes at once. Take 2 parts of Molten Rift to get 10% fire damage, and 2 parts of Lingering Tunes for 10% attack power.

In the first slot, we put Inferno Rider again to get even more bonus to the element. Of course, in the absence of this boss, you can also put Mech Abomination to get 12% to the attack power after activation, but we still recommend catching the echo of the rider.

Commands for Chanli

Before you assemble a team for Chanli, you should still decide on what position you want to see her in. The first option is played from the hypercarry Chanli. In such a squad, we take two supports who will increase her damage.
