Holstein House . It is a sober neoclassical style building , an example of the architectural heritage of southern Chile . It was built between 1900 and 1910 by the German immigrant Guillermo Hollstein, an important agricultural businessman.

Location
Located at Avenida Guillermo Hollstein No. 3, Chuyaca sector, Osorno , Los Lagos Region , Chile.
History
In 1845 , the Colonization Law was enacted, at the initiative of President Manuel Bulnes , with which the process of immigration of German settlers to southern Chile began.
As of 1849 , the German families that settled in the region introduced strong changes in the development of agriculture and livestock , at the same time, the housing system, according to their conception of life and customs.
The Hollstein House was built between 1900 and 1910 by Guillermo Hollstein Klickmann, a German immigrant, who became a prosperous agricultural entrepreneur and stood out for being the promoter of various projects in the city of Osorno.
The building was rebuilt in 2012 .

Architecture
The neoclassical style house is an example of the traditional constructions of southern Chile, with the influence of German architecture , built of native wood. It is an isolated country house with two floors and a plinth with superb living space and viewpoints. The access is located on its main façade, preceded by a viewpoint corridor, raised two meters above ground level.
The park that surrounds the house represents the typical area, it has an area of two hectares, the area includes both native and exotic species, among which are: aromos , quince , Oregon pine, cherry trees, eucalyptus, Monterey cypresses , ash trees , palm trees , among others.
National Monument
On September 8, 1999, the Holltein House and its surrounding Typical Zone (Park) were declared a Historic Monument by Exempt Decree No. 291 of the Ministry of Education .
Present
Currently, the Academy of Contemporary Art and Culture of the University of Los Lagos works on its premises .
