Avalanche Software has put its stamp on the conversion of Cars 3 , the Pixar film that will be released next week in our country. Under the full name of Cars 3: Towards Victory , we are facing a video game that is based on the Nintendo Mario Kart series to give life to its style of play, although it is fair to say that it also has certain differentiating elements … and a level of quality more than acceptable but that is far from the outstanding races that the most famous characters of the Great N.
For this reason, explaining what the game consists of is very simple: everything happens to tread thoroughly on relatively varied circuits (there are more than twenty of them) and leave the rivals behind, being able to use turbos and different objects according to what type of competitions as I will explain right now.
As for its argument, the truth is that it is one of the most disappointing parts of the video game. Everything takes place right after what happened in the Pixar movie, but the truth is that it hardly has any significance. A shame as this look could have been squeezed a lot more.

Entertaining and completeThe races and the various tests, such as those in which we have to eliminate the rivals using missiles, are not surprising at all, but at least they are fun. And I must say that despite the fact that as it is more than evident it is a game clearly focused on children, it is not so easy to win races and, in fact, on many occasions it is necessary to know the circuits by heart and take advantage of the many shortcuts presented by each of them to get to the goal in first position.
The game modes that the title presents are very diverse, but many of them need to be unlocked previously.
The monitoring of vehicles is very simple but despite this is pretty striking how many actions that can be performed with the protagonists. It is striking the possibility of being able to execute jumps whenever we want by pressing a button, as if it were an arcade platformer, something that does not usually happen in many similar titles. And if we synchronize this action with a ramp, it is possible to carry out quite striking aerial maneuvers such as lateral turns, flips or fatalities.
And why is it convenient to perform these aerial tricks ? Well, to recharge the turbo bar, essential to obtain victories. But these spectacular aerial actions are not the only ones that can be carried out during each race. We can also drive in reverse, do it on two wheels or even execute lateral attacks to get the rivals off the track. A compendium of movements that, in short, add greater interest to each test.
The game is not surprising in any way, but despite that, it is funIn terms of options and game modes, the title is well served. At the beginning it is possible to choose Events , an option that includes many different competitions that it is possible to unlock such as races, fast laps, eliminatory or combat races to give several examples. To this are added other modes that we can also enable such as Cups, Thomasville park, etc. as we accomplish certain objectives such as ramming multiple rivals in a single race, driving in reverse for a specified amount of time, getting victories, etc. And this comprehensive offering is topped off by the multiplayer mode that Cars 3: Towards Victory also has . Thanks to him it is possible to play with three more friends inlocal mode to split screen (or in LAN with four Switches in that version), an option that becomes one of the most interesting of all the title presents.
It is possible to unlock more than twenty cars, all of them well known among fans of this Pixar saga.
As you can see, it is not a game that surprises in any way and it is still a clone of many other similar arcades but, despite that, it is fun, and that is still the most important thing … although the little ones will be the ones who enjoy the most with the careers of Rayo , Cruz and company.
In technical matters Cars 3 is not bad, although it is not comparable to the latest installment enjoyed by Mario Kart or to what is embodied in the most important speed games. The highlight is the fidelity that the cars show in relation to the original models of the film. They are all perfectly recognizable and have quite funny animations. The scenarios are more realistic in style and although they are not particularly detailed, they are varied and in some cases even showy, despite presenting hints of abrupt generation of elements. The sound section seemed somewhat superior to me, thanks to an excellent dubbing into our language and a wide variety of effects. The soundtrack does not enjoy so much prominence, but it is not out of tune either.

It is a very entertaining title, especially suitable for the youngest, although it can be enjoyed by any lover of this type of proposal. It is not very original in its approach, but it is a minor inconvenience.
