In Stardew Valley , fishing is much more than just a pleasant pastime, as it provides valuable resources and opportunities to discover new areas of the world. Fish serve as an ingredient for cooking and can even be sold to make quick money.
Blight Forest
The Tizón forest is the only place where there are different bodies of water , each of which is home to a different variety of fish. We can find a river and a pond.
River
The river is the main fishing spot in the Cinder Forest. Being an extension of the Pelican City River, it usually contains the same river fish, with a few exceptions. The barbel and the dorado are two types of fish that are not found in the town river but are common in the forest river.
During winter, you will be able to catch the legendary fish , the Icefish. You will also have the chance to catch a young Icefish , one of the Legendary Fish II. However, to catch these fish, you will need to reach Fishing Level 6.
Pond
There is a large pond in the northwest corner of the tizon forest. It has a limited selection of fish compared to the river. Depending on the season, you can find carp, catfish, midnight carp, perch, pike, sea bass and zander.
Secret forest
The Secret Forest is located north of the Cinder Forest . A small pond, hidden in the southwest area, is home to a unique fish called Muyu. Although you can also catch carp and catfish here.
The beach
The beach is a valuable spot for fishing, as it is one of the few sources of saltwater. If you go fishing at the eastern end of the beach you will be able to catch one of five legendary fish: the Crimson Fish and the Son of the Crimson Fish. These fish can be caught once you reach Fishing Level 5.
The mountain
It is one of the best places to practice fishing in the early game. You can find many types of fish here, such as Carp , Legend (one of the five legendary fish) and Legend II (one of the five legendary fish II). However, legendary fish can only be caught when you reach fishing level 10 .
The desert
The Calico Desert has a pond in the northwestern part. It is a prime spot for you to catch two unique fish: the Sandfish and the Scorpion Carp. These can be caught during all seasons in the desert. You can also try fishing in the small pond located at the southern end, provided your fishing level is high enough.
The mines
While the mines may not seem like the ideal place to fish, there are certain levels of the mines that are home to unique fish. At level 20 , you’ll be able to find the Ghost Fish and the Stone Fish . By level 60 , you’ll be able to find the Icicle Fish as well , and if you reach level 100 , you’ll be able to catch the Lava Eel.
The sewers
Once you unlock the sewers, you’ll find that it’s one of the best places to fish. The sewers are home to the Mutant Carp , a Legendary Fish, and the Radioactive Carp , a Legendary Fish II. You can also catch Carp, Green Algae, and White Algae.
Ginger Island
Ginger Island is divided into the following areas, each of which contains exotic varieties of fish.
- On the North Island , you can find discus fish, tilapia and midnight carp.
- In the South and Southwest Islands , flounder, lionfish, pufferfish, tuna and super cucumber.
- On the west island , we will find salt water and fresh water. In the salt water you will find the same water as on the previous island, and in the fresh water you will find the same water as on the first one.
- Finally, in the pirate cove , you will find flounder, puffer fish, stingray, super cucumber and tuna.
