To round out your character build in Zenless Zone Zero , one of the most important pieces of equipment is the sets of disc tracks that you will start to obtain well into the game. In this entry of our guide we are going to review everything related to the disc tracks to show you the methods to get them , how they can level up or how many there are in total, among other details.

All the disc track sets and which ones are the best

When identifying the best disc tracks in Zenless Zone Zero, you should keep in mind that there are no one tracks that are clearly better or superior to others, as it will always depend on your character build and the stats you are interested in enhancing for each agent.

What does need to be made clear is that the different sets or compendiums of ZZZ disc tracks can be of up to three different ranks: S, A or B . Obviously, the best in the game will always be those of grade S , since they are the most rare and therefore have the highest statistics.

Below we show you the 12 sets of disc tracks that exist in ZZZ and their special bonus effects:

Disc track Bonus 2 tracks Bonus 4 tracks
Free Blues Increases Anomaly Mastery by 30 pts. Hitting an enemy with an EX Special Technique reduces their resistance to the corresponding Attribute Anomaly by 20% for 8s. Does not stack with effects of the same type.
Disco shake stars Increases Impact by 6%. Increases the Stun inflicted on the primary target by a normal attack, a quick attack, and a counterattack by 20%.
Swinging Jazz Increases Energy Recovery by 20%. When performing a Chain Technique or Ultimate Technique, the damage dealt by all team members is increased by 15% for 12 sec. This effect does not stack with other effects of the same name.
Chaotic metal Increases ethereal damage by 10%. Increases the wearer’s Critical Damage by 20%. When any team member deals additional damage via the Corruption effect, this bonus is increased by an additional 5.5% for 8 sec. This can stack up to 6 charges. The duration refreshes with each activation.
Fanged Metal Increases physical damage by 10%. When any team member causes an enemy to charge, the bearer’s damage to the target is increased by 35% for 12 sec.
Electrical metal Increases electrical damage by 10%. While there are enemies affected by electroshock in combat, the wearer’s Attack is increased by 28%.
Hellish metal Increases fire damage by 10%. Hitting an enemy affected by Scorch increases the wearer’s Critical Chance by 28% for 8 sec.
Polar metal Increases glacial damage by 10%. Increases damage dealt by Normal Attack and Quick Attack by 20%. Additionally, when an enemy is affected by any team member’s Freeze or Ice Shatter effects, the effect is increased by 20% for 12 sec.
Hormonal Punk Increases Attack by 10%. When entering combat or replacing an active agent, increases the wearer’s Attack by 25% for 10 sec. Can be activated once every 20 sec.
Spiritual Rock Increases Defense by 16%. Upon losing HP from an enemy attack, the wearer’s damage taken is reduced by 40% for 2.5s. Can be activated once every 15s.
Techno picid Increases Critical Chance by 8%. Hitting an enemy with a normal attack, counterattack, or EX Special Technique will execute a critical hit and grant the wielder 1 bonus charge. Each charge increases the wielder’s Attack by 9% for 6s. The duration of each technique is counted separately.
Tetraodontid techno Increases Drill Rate by 8%. Increases damage dealt by Ultimate Techniques by 20%. When performing an Ultimate Technique, the wielder’s Attack is increased by 15% for 12 sec.

Now that you’ve seen the disc track sets available in the game, you’ll notice that some of the effects on these tracks boost specific elements or attributes . For example, the “Hormonal Punk” disc track increases attack , so it would be an interesting disc track for a character with this specialty (like Bill).

Other tracks like Hellmetal improve fire damage , so they’re more advisable for fire-elemental agents (like Ben or Nekomiya), and the same goes for more builds. Ultimately, you’ll have to carefully choose which tracks are most beneficial to you for your teams . Broadly speaking, they’re all useful in their own way, and will become even more so if you put in the effort to level them up.

How to get disc tracks?

In Zenless Zone Zero you have two main methods to get new disc tracks in your inventory, although you should know beforehand that to start doing either of these methods you first have to progress through your game quite a bit. You will have to reach a certain point in Chapter 2 of the story, so forget about getting these equipment until then.

Below we will go over both methods for farming disk tracks:

Getting disk tracks in Routine Cleaning

During Chapter 2 of ZZZ’s story, when you are close to reaching character level 30 , one of the quests you will have to carry out will ask you to speak with Roland in the Zero Cavity area.

  • This character will explain to you that from now on you can participate in routine cleaningto get disc clues and other rewards.
  • In this game mode you have to fight against certainspecial enemies.
  • Please note that participating in these challenges consumes batteries(just like at the HIA Recruitment Center).

Each day, or whenever you have enough stacks, you can play these battles to earn Disc Tracks and other rewards like skins and more materials. This is a great way to get the Disc Track sets you’re specifically looking for , so make sure you have a team ready to take down the enemies and claim the rewards.

Tuning original records at the music store

Just after unlocking the routine cleaning battles we explained above, ZZZ’s story will also take you to meet Elfy , an NPC in the New Eridu neighborhood who runs The Bard’s Needle , the music store across from the Random Play video store.

  • Once you have unlocked and opened the music store, you can visit it whenever you want to perform tune-upswith original records.
  • Tunings work similarly to gacha bannerrolls .
  • In this case, you can perform 1 tuning or 10 tuningsto get disk tracks.
  • Each tuning requires you to spend 5 original discsin the process.
  • You can choose a disc track preference to ensure a 100%chance of getting that set when tuning.

Please note that initially the tuning modes will be somewhat limited. As you increase your proxy level, the music store level will also increase, so later you will be able to choose a partition preference to get disk tracks from a desired partition (at level 2) or an attribute preference , to choose the main attribute that the disk track set will have (at level 3).

Don’t forget that in the music store you can also disassemble duplicate disc tracks that you have left over in your inventory. This will be great for accumulating more original discs to use for tuning.

How do disco track effects work?

ZZZ Disc Tracks are essentially like Genshin Impact artifacts . They are pieces of equipment that you can put on your characters to increase certain stats, and for every 2 or 4 pieces of the same set you put on your character, they will receive an active bonus .

Each agent in the game can carry up to 6 disc tracks equipped. The tracks are equipped in the “Equipment” tab around the amplifier , and there are 6 different partitions that are individualized. This means that each “slot” is a unique partition. If for example you have a disc track called “Starshaking Disc (1)”, that “(1)” tells you that it can only be equipped in the first partition.

On the other hand, each disk track has a primary attribute (which increases as you level up the disk) and can have up to 4 secondary stats that are randomly generated. Depending on the partition each disk track fits into, it can have the following primary stats:

  • Partition 1:HP (life) improvement.
  • Partition 2:Attack Enhancement.
  • Partition 3:Defense upgrade.
  • Partition 4:Attribute rate improvement.
  • Partition 5:Element rate enhancement (random) or other attribute.
  • Partition 6:Attribute rate improvement.

How to level up disc tracks?

Disc tracks can be leveled up just like characters or amplifiers. This is done from the “Equipment” tab and requires spending coatings , the materials that grant experience points to the discs. You can get these by participating in routine cleaning battles and other activities that give you them as rewards.

In this case, you should know that the maximum level a disc can reach is determined by its rarity :

  • S rank ones are the ones that can be improved the most, up to level 15.
  • Those of rank A go up to level 12.
  • Those of rank B can be raised up to level 9.

Finally, it should be noted that the disc track’s primary stat increases with each new level, but the random secondary stats do not vary, although the rarer the disc, the more sub-stats will be generated.
