Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey: How to Get the Best Ending

Throughout the Odyssey storyline in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you’ll make a variety of decisions. Most of them either have no effect or have some effect in the context of the current mission. But there are some particularly important decisions that will determine the ending of the game. There are spoilers below, so we don’t recommend reading this article before you’ve finished the game. On the other hand, if you finish the game with a less-than-ideal ending and want to see a better one, you’ll either have to head to YouTube or play through the story all over again.

Plot decisions, endings

In total, there are nine different endings to get in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, each of which depends on specific decisions you made throughout several story chapters. Therefore, we recommend using not only automatic saves, but also quick and manual saves, which will protect you in case of wrong decisions.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has three distinct storylines – Odyssey, Out of the Shadows, and Gates of Atlantis. The main decisions that shape the ending are tied to Odyssey. Completing quests in the other two storylines will delve deeper into the game’s story, revealing who the leader of the Cult of Kosmos is (which can be as interesting as completing the main storyline), and what exactly Layla Hassan was looking for when she learned the life story of Alexios and Kassandra.

How to get the best ending

Throughout the game, you will have to make six important plot decisions that are related to the protagonist’s relatives. The main goal of this ending is to save the lives of all members of Alexios and Kassandra’s family – the protagonist, Deimos, Myrrine, Nikolaos and Stentor. Thus, it is enough to act in such a way as to avoid killing any of them, but there are less obvious solutions.

Let’s list them:

– At the end of Chapter 2, spare Nikolaos’ life.
– Promise Myrrine that you will try to save Deimos from the Cult of Kosmos.
– Tell Nikolaos that Stentor needs his help.
– Do not kill Stentor.
– Convince Deimos that the cult is manipulating her/him. Deimos must tell Cleon that he/she is not his “puppet”.
– Refuse to fight Deimos at the end of the game.

A detailed study of the best ending

Don’t kill Nikolaos at the end of Chapter 2

Regardless of whether you play as Alexios or Kassandra, you will eventually come face to face with the man who threw you off the mountain at the beginning of the game. To meet the Wolf of Sparta in person, you will have to help his adopted son Stentor fight against Athens in the Megaris region.

Eventually, the mission “The Last Push” will begin, where you will take part in your first battle to conquer the region. This time, you will be fighting on the Spartan side. Kill enemy soldiers, reducing the blue bar at the top of the screen and emptying it before the red bar does. Attack the captains highlighted by yellow markers whenever possible. When the battle is over, talk to Stentor and head to the Wolf yourself.

When you finally meet Nikolaos, the protagonist will reveal his identity, and then you will be given two options to choose from. Declare that you came for revenge, as a result of which the protagonist will kill Nikolaos. If you want to save his life, then say that you came for answers. Only in this case will you meet Nikolaos later and be able to convince him to help Stentor.

Meeting Deimos and Myrrine’s Promise

During one of the story chapters, you will visit the Forge, where you will upgrade Leonidas’ spear for the first time. When you leave, you will meet Deimos outside. This conversation may escalate into a fight, but you should avoid this option at all costs, choosing passive responses, stating that you want to save your brother/sister from the Cult of Kosmos manipulating them.

Later you will be able to meet Myrrine, the mother of the main character. Talk to her about Deimos. It is important to state here that you do not want to take revenge on Deimos, but want to save your relative from the clutches of the Cult. This dialogue may seem insignificant, but in fact, the choice made affects the achievement of the best ending.

Convince Nikolaos to help Stentor and not fight the latter.

In one of the chapters, the kings of Sparta will send you to help a Spartan general who is trying to conquer Boeotia. It turns out to be Stentor, the main character’s half-brother, who now hates him. First, you will need to kill four champions of Athens, which will weaken the enemy army.

After killing three of them, go to the fourth and meet Nikolaos. He will only appear if you spared him in Chapter 2. Convince the man that he must help Stentor. If you do not, then the battle against Stentor cannot be avoided.

Return to your half-brother, and then fight for Sparta in the battle to conquer Boeotia. Kill regular enemies, captains, and deal with the main enemy. Stentor will want to settle scores with you, but if you convinced Nikolaos to help him, then the father will appear, who will save the relatives from fighting against each other.

Convince Deimos that the Cult of Kosmos is manipulating her

At the end of one of the chapters, you will find yourself in captivity of Deimos. But before that, during the battle for conquest, a huge tree will fall on Deimos, and you will be able to save your sister/brother by choosing the right action. Next, you will need to talk to Deimos while in the prison cell. Convince your relative that the Cult is manipulating him:

– It was a prophecy.
– Our mother was looking for us.
– She thought you were dead.
– I was abandoned too.

Kleon will appear. If you chose the right options, Deimos will definitely tell him “I’m not your doll!” If this does not happen, then you chose something wrong, so reboot and repeat the conversation.

Refuse to fight Deimos

Eventually, you will deal with Cleon. After that, together with your mother, climb to the top of the mountain where it all began. Here, you will come face to face with Deimos. Choose passive options during the dialogue, without showing aggression towards Deimos. Give Deimos the spear of Leonidas, as a result of which the family will be restored.

Enter the old family home and see your relatives gathered. All other endings differ slightly: some family members will be present or absent.
