ArcheAge – what the GS is made of

What is GS and how many units are given by equipment, engravings and runes.

GS (from the English Gear Score) is the rating of the equipment with which the character is equipped. Every equipment, engraving and rune in ArcheAge has a value that is summed up in GS.

Equipment

All equipment in the game can be found in the Equipment Guide, which can be opened through the Backpack.

In this window, you can see all the equipment that is available in the game, as well as the value of the GS depending on the quality of the item. The Equipment Reference window can be divided into the following items:

Engraving

With update 4.0, one hundred percent engravings appeared, but the ability to make old ones, which had a chance not to insert into equipment and break all others, was removed. Old engravings can still be purchased from other players. If the engraving is personal, then it can be placed in any transferred equipment, and then transferred to another player and taken out of the equipment using the “Engraver’s Cube” (sold in the shop for 2400 honor points or at the auction).

One hundred percent engravings for honor points add 10 units. HS:

Old engravings

  • Regular (white) quality engravings are added by 10 units. HS.
  • Unusual (green) quality engravings add 30 units. HS.
  • Rare (blue) quality engravings add 50 units. HS.
  • Unique (pink) quality engravings add 70 units. HS.

100% Mountain Engravings, which could be purchased with Guild Contribution before Update 4.0, add 30 units each. HS.

100% Mountain Heraldic Engraving “Perfect Mountain Heraldic Lion Engraving” from small council adds 70 units. HS.

Runes

Runes can be applied to any equipment other than a glider or wings. Only one rune can be applied to one equipment. If you apply a rune to equipment that is already reinforced with a rune, the effect will be replaced.

Runes for rare (blue) quality honor points add 17.5 units. HS

  • The delay in applying skills when struck -20% (for a helmet).
  • Detection range of hidden creatures + 20% (for a helmet).
  • Received damage -2% (for the breastplate).
  • Healing Susceptibility + 10% (for chest piece).
  • Melee Critical Damage + 8% (for gloves).

  • Ranged Critical Damage + 8% (for gloves).
  • Critical healing effect + 5% (for gloves).
  • Additional damage of melee skills + 1.6% (for one-handed weapons).
  • Additional damage of the caster skills + 1.6% (for one-handed weapons).
  • Additional damage of melee skills + 2.4% (for two-handed weapons).
  • Additional damage of caster skills + 2.4% (for two-handed weapons).
  • Bonus damage of ranged skills + 1.6% (for bow).
  • The additional effectiveness of the skills of the healer + 1.6% (for one-handed weapons and a shield).

Runes for honor points of a unique (pink) quality add 22.5 units. HS

Craft runes

This rune type has two characteristics. The first characteristic depends on the type of the selected rune from the list below, and the second is determined randomly, since the rune was initially sealed. The rune itself is crafted from three moon scrolls (obtained from five moon dust) and five iron ingots. Runes of unusual (green) quality add 12.5 units. HS.

  • Rune of the rising of the crimson moon – for strength.
  • Rune of the rising of the autumn moon – for dexterity.
  • Rune of the rising of a young moon – for endurance.
  • The rune of the rising of the witch’s moon is for intellect.
  • Rune of the rising of the silent moon – for fortitude.

Stages of creating a rune

The runes above can be re-crafted, but the main thing is not to open them. The rune is crafted from the rune itself, a lunar prism (obtained from three lunar ingots) and a heart of flame. After opening, a rune of rare (blue) or unique (pink) quality is obtained, which add 17.5 units. GS and 20 units. HS.

  • The rune of the eclipse of the crimson moon is for strength.
  • The rune of the eclipse of the autumn of the moon is for dexterity.
  • Eclipse rune of a young moon – for endurance.

Moon stones

Moonstones can be crafted at the alchemy table. The main component is “lunar dust”, as well as “lunar ingot” and “lunar prism”. A Lunar Ingot can be obtained from five Moon Dust, and a Lunar Prism from three Moon Ingots.

  • Spell power +3 (for two-handed weapons).
  • Healing efficiency +3 (for two-handed weapons).
  • Ranged attack power +2 (for bow).
  • Defense +67 (for shield).
  • Block + 1% (for shield).

Treated Moonstones of Uncommon (Green) quality add 12.5 units. HS:

Rare (blue) quality cut moonstones add 17.5 units. HS:

  • Recovery of health in battle +3 (for a breastplate).
  • Mana regeneration in combat +3 (for a breastplate).
  • Melee Critical Strike Chance + 2% (for gloves).

  • Spell Critical Strike Chance + 2% (for gloves).
  • Movement speed + 5% (for shoes);
  • Swimming speed + 12% (for shoes).
  • Melee attack power +5 (for one-handed weapons).
  • Spell power +5 (for one-handed weapons).
  • Healing efficiency +5 (for one-handed weapons and shield).
  • Threat level + 12% (for one-handed weapons).
  • Melee attack power +7.5 (for two-handed weapons).
  • Spell power +7.5 (for two-handed weapons).
  • Healing efficiency +7.5 (for two-handed weapons).
  • Ranged attack power +5 (for bow).
  • Defense +270 (for shield).

Note: There are no Rare quality faceted moonstones for Falling Damage and Blocking.

Moon emeralds

Moon Emeralds can be purchased in the store for gift coins in the “Special” tab, knocked out of chests, or bought at the auction. They can only be used on necklaces, earrings, rings and tools.

Lunar Emeralds of Uncommon (green) quality add 12.5 units. HS:

  • Melee attack power +3.
  • Ranged attack power +3.
  • Spell power +3.

Rare (blue) quality royal moon emeralds add 20 units. HS:

  • Melee Attack Power +3 and Resistance +53.

Runes for costumes

Runes for suits add 35 units. HS. The first four runes from the list below can be obtained from the “Rune Chest”, and the last rune was sold in May last year, along with the costume of the snake charmer. Also, all runes can be purchased at the auction.

Runes for underwear

Runes from the section “craft runes” can be used on underwear, but there are special “Crystal Runes” that add 30 units. HS. They can be bought for 800 gift coins in the store or bought at the auction.

Efen prisms

The Efenian prisms of the armourer or armorer do not add GS, but increase the characteristics of the equipment. In the case of armor or shield, it increases defense and resistance, and in the case of weapons, it increases damage, spell power or healing efficiency.
