All the details of EA Sports FC 25

A complete overview of the new features and tricks of the real FIFA 25.

Over the past few weeks, Electronic Arts has shared a ton of details about EA Sports FC 25, the next installment in the football simulation series previously known under the FIFA brand. The authors have talked about all the important components of the future project, and we have collected the main innovations in one article.

There are no revolutionary changes to be expected from EA Sports FC 25. However, the developers still have a few tricks up their sleeves that can give fresh impressions to fans of football simulators.

EA Sports FC 25: The Essentials of the Football Simulator

Title: EA Sports FC 25 (FIFA 25)
Developer: EA Canada, EA Romania
Publisher: EA Sports
Release date: September 27, 2024
Genre: football simulator
Where to play: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch.

Gameplay and advanced tactics system FC IQ

The most important innovation in terms of gameplay in EA Sports FC 25 will be FC IQ – a new tactics system closer to real football. This is a whole set of variables that will allow you to customize schemes, change player positions and adapt to the situation in the match.

It is thanks to FC IQ that in the upcoming football simulator, football players will have roles. From now on, choosing the right position for a player is not enough – it is necessary to give him a task on the field that he will cope with best. If you choose the right strategy, football players will cope with their duties much better than usual.

In terms of gameplay, goalkeepers will see the most changes in EA Sports FC 25. Goalkeepers will receive new playstyles that will allow them to more effectively parry shots on goal and be useful to the team, including at the initial stage of attack development. Overall, this means that goalkeepers will become a much more formidable force than they were in the previous part of the series.

As per tradition, EA Sports FC 25 will offer gamers new tricks, a multitude of realistic animations taken straight from Champions League matches, as well as advanced graphics settings, including on consoles.

New Rush mode with 5v5 matches

Another significant innovation of the future football sim is the Rush mode , where matches are played in a 5-on-5 format on a smaller stadium. It is available in both Ultimate Team and Clubs, as well as in the coach career.

Rush is essentially a mix of big football and hockey: the matches are faster than usual, the players never get tired, and for malicious violations, players are sent to the local “penalty bench.” Among the important differences from regular matches: the “golden” goal rule in extra time and penalties in the spirit of 20th century football, where a player must run from the center of the field and score a goal by beating the goalkeeper.

You can play Rush either for the entire team of four players (the goalkeeper is always controlled by AI), or for one specific player.

Rush mode will also feature convenient communication with other players using quick commands. You can thank for a pass, apologize for a miss, or ask for an accurate pass by indicating the direction of your movement.

Career as a player and coach

Career in EA Sports FC 25 will undergo significant changes, especially considering that in recent years the developers have paid less and less attention to this mode. EA Sports itself calls the upcoming “Career” the most innovative in the history of the series.

The main innovation of the mode will be “Dynamic starting points” – users will be able to start a career for a club or a football player at a decisive moment for the chosen team. This can be an important derby and a high-profile transfer, as well as the dismissal of a coach from his post in the middle of the season.

Social networks will also play an important role in the mode. The world community will constantly discuss what is happening with the coach, team and players, and among the invited guests in the game will be the famous insider and journalist Fabrizio Romano. As in real life, he will report on upcoming transfers in advance, sharing with the virtual world the most up-to-date information about the world of football.

EA Sports FC 25 will also add a career for women – you can play for a team or representative of one of the five main European championships.

Career for a coach

The new FC IQ tactics system will play a role in the manager mode. The coaching staff will be able to select better positions for each player on the pitch so that they can perform even more effectively, performing several tasks during the match.

This choice will be discussed by journalists, asking provocative questions to the coach at press conferences. The manager’s answers will affect not only his image, but also the morale of the entire team.

Finally, FC IQ will also affect the work of scouts and the youth academy. Having discovered a promising player, the coach will be able to develop the best qualities of the young footballer in the direction he needs. Here, the very same Rush mode will come to the rescue, where the young talent will be able to hone his skills with his peers.

Career for the player

In the player career, users will be able to customize the backstory of their footballer for the first time. Among the possible options, “from rags to riches,” “in the footsteps of their parents,” and “returning from an injury that could have ended their career” have already been confirmed.

The choice of background will affect the characteristics and playstyles of the football player, as well as the attitude of fans towards the player. For example, if the athlete had a famous relative, then the viewers will constantly compare the young performer with their parent, and a football player who returned from a serious injury will receive special sympathy in episodes with dangerous violations of the rules.

Finally, in the player’s career, it will be possible to play for idols, placing them in any team. The authors promise to constantly update the list of football stars available for the game.

Ultimate Team

The most popular mode in the series continues to grow with innovations. The main one will be the previously mentioned Rush mode with 5 vs 5 matches, where users will be able to choose one football player, play a match against other players and receive special points. Once a week, currency can be exchanged for special rewards: game coins and sets with football players.

The previously mentioned FC IQ tactics system will also play an important role in Ultimate Team. Gamers will be able to fine-tune the roles of their players depending on the scheme and squad. And if the customization seems too complicated, then you can use ready-made solutions from famous coaches from all over the world: from Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta to Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso.

The developers have also made changes to the Division Rivals format – from now on, users can fly to a lower division. However, this will be more difficult to do than in previous parts of the series, because now gamers will receive one point for a draw instead of 0.

Other changes to Ultimate Team include the removal of player and manager contracts, a separate storage area for duplicate cards in Squad Building Challenges, random opponents in Friendlies, improved Evolution cards with new effects, and more.

The list of Heroes in EA Sports FC 25 will be expanded by 13 football players, including Eden Hazard, Maicon, Ze Roberto and other famous athletes.
