All the animals in Red Dead Redemption and how to find them

We may not be getting the remake we wanted , but Red Dead Redemption coming to PS4 (and PS5 via backwards compatibility) and Nintendo Switch is great news. And we’re sure many of you will be discovering it for the first time . If that’s your case and you’re eager to get your hands on it all, today we’re going to talk about the different species of animals you’ll find. We’ve compiled them all, as well as their locations . Will you join us?

Animals in Red Dead Redemption

One of the most fun side quests in Rockstar ‘s game is going on a hunt in its wonderful open world . And aside from the legendary animals, which are extremely exclusive, there are many types of animals going about their business and waiting to be discovered.

Unlike the legendary ones, these are much more abundant animals , but logically there are rarer species than others. And, of course, not all of them are equally easy to hunt. Likewise, by hunting animals it is possible to unlock environmental challenges . For example, if we kill a bird, we will unlock the “Shooter” challenge. And by completing these challenges we will receive additional fame and outfits .

List of all animals in Red Dead Redemption

In total, the game has 36 different types of animals . Most of them are available both in the main story and in the free multiplayer mode . And in some cases, we have different specimens for that same type of animal (for example, with dogs).

Luckily for you, in the following list you will not only find all the animals in RDR , but we will also tell you where to find them most easily . Keep in mind that many of them appear in different places, but there is always a place that they like the most.
