How to start and complete all missions in Venice Beach: Dead Silence, Ashes of the Dead, Coast Guard, Organ Donors, Notes of the Dead
In total, five side missions can be found and completed in Venice Beach.
Dead Silence (Venice Beach)
- How to start the quest: Talk to Trent at the Blue Crab in Venice Beach.
Exit the Blue Crab Bar and head southwest until you reach a grassy park right in front of the beach. From here, head south to find the police station. It’s a large, circular building west of the outdoor gym you visit in the Giant Slayer main quest. Near the lot, your objective will update. If you go south from the police station, you can find a small playground, and on one of the carousels there will be a collectible record.
On the west side of the lot, look for the only open door. Note that there are walkers in police uniforms outside that you will probably have to kill. On the left side there is a window of the reception department, next to it is a locked door. Another door opposite the entrance is open. Look through the window and shoot some magnetic locks to open the door to the corridor.
Go into the room ahead and finish off the walker. Look at the wall to find another magnetic lock. Break it to open the door by the window. Go to the narrow corridor. On the right there are two doors of the detention cells, on the left there is one more, in front there is another. First, go to the reception area on the left. There are two walkers hiding under the tables. After dealing with them and looting the room, take the key to the prison cell 02, lying on the table. On a small shelf to the east of the room, look for the Police Department Key Card. Return to the narrow corridor and open the door of the detention cell on the right. As soon as you do this, you will be attacked by a walker. Search the crate for supplies, then use the police department keycard and open the door at the end of the hallway.
Defeat a couple of walkers. Go through the open door to the right of the locker. Look for the key to the vault on the counter. Use it to open the vault. Look in the crates for a rare assault shotgun. The most important thing is to open the green weapon case located on the ground in the center of the storage room. When you pick up the item, the task will be updated. Go back outside, move to the Blue Crab and give the items you found to Trent to complete the side quest.
Reward : 3000 experience points, $500.
Ashes of the Departed (Venice Beach)
- How to start the quest: Talk to Rodriguez at the lifeguard tower between two quarantine corridors in the northwestern part of Venice Beach (you will get into the story).
After getting the Rescue Tower Key Card from Rodriguez, go down the stairs to the first floor and go through the door leading to the beach. Once you’re outside, get a new target. There are three large pits on the beach that need to be set on fire. This can be done, for example, using weapons with a fire modification. Just shoot into each hole. One is located directly opposite the entrance to the tower, the other is on the right side of the beach, the last one is on the left side of the beach. As soon as you set fire to all the pits (by the way, I recommend killing all enemies immediately), a dangerous monster will appear. This will be your first fire vomiter. Destroy it, return to the entrance to the tower of rescuers. Clear the area opposite the entrance and enter the tower. Report everything to Rodriguez to complete the side quest.
Reward : 3,000 XP, $500, blueprint for a rare ranged incinerator modification.
Coast Guard (Venice Beach)
- How to start the mission: Go to the lifeguard tower on the beach closest to the paramilitary zone in the Venice Beach area.
When you approach the lifeguard’s hut, you will find that it is besieged by zombies. As you might expect, the bulk of the enemies are standard walkers, cranks, and runners. Kill everyone, climb up and go inside the rescue tower. Inside it you will find a guy named Bert, as well as a workbench, first aid kit and crafting materials. To continue the optional task, chat with Bert.
Go to the police station in the northeast. When you get to the lot’s parking lot, you’ll find some zombies. Clear this area to update the objective. Among the usual mutants there will be several fuses. Use them to destroy the rest of the enemies. Once all the enemies have been defeated, go northeast from the police station to get to the promenade with shops. As you get closer, you will see several zombies clustered outside the Venice Kitchen. Destroy the zombies to update the task.
Interact with the button on the wall next to the shutters to open the establishment. You will be ambushed. As soon as the door opens, you will find yourself face to face with a vomiter. This is one of the people who were in Bert’s group. More zombies will appear. Kill all opponents, then go inside the Venice Kitchen. Gather supplies, blow up a bag of caustic slurry in the far part. Go back to the rescue hut, kill all the zombies outside. In addition to the usual mutants, a crusher and a screamer will appear. After defeating all the zombies, go inside and talk to Bert to complete the task.
Reward : 3000 experience points, $300.
Organ Donors (Venice Beach)
- How to start the quest: Talk to Trent at the Blue Crab Diner.
After starting the side quest, you will receive two objectives, each of which points to opposite parts of the beach. Head south to check the sewage, then north to check out the strongman competition site. First, head south. The sewer drain is located at the south end of the Venice Beach map, next to the shower room and south lifeguard hut. Jump down and kill all the connecting rods and fuses. Inside the tunnel there will be growths with caustic goo, so be careful and take your time. Enter the tunnel and kill the walkers and fuses in the starting room. Open the door on the right and go down the corridor to get to the sewer pipes. Destroy the fuse. When you get to the pipes, follow to a dead end with a crate of supplies. Walk to the left, but be careful – explosive growths will reappear. At the end of the path there will be another fuse.
Pick up the desired item, then move north along the beach and boardwalk. Ahead there will be a wall of a military base blocking the way. Find a note in front of the Fatburg store with a yellow sign. From here, head west to find Muscle Beach. When you approach the stands and the arena, the task will be updated. When you’re ready to continue, stand in the center of the area. You have to destroy three waves of zombies. Each wave will have at least one (or even more) destroyer. Once you’ve eliminated all the enemies, collect their body parts and then return to the Blue Crab and speak with Trent to complete the side quest.
Reward : 4000 experience points, skill card, weapon skill blueprint.
Notes of the Dead (Venice Beach)
- How to start the quest: Talk to Rodriguez at the lifeguard tower in Venice Beach.
The first thing to do is track down the convoy ambushed by zombies. You can find it next to the large playground just north of Muscle Beach at the northern end of Venice Beach. The task will be updated. You can inspect the cars in the convoy. Deal with all the mutants and find the memory card in the laptop near the civilian car in the middle of the convoy. Taking a memory card, you will receive a new task. You have to fight off the enemy group. There will be four waves in total. Having dealt with all the mutants, you will receive a new goal. At this point, a Communications Officer walker will appear, as well as a couple of crushers. Defeat everyone, search the corpse of the officer and get the key card of the communication zone.
From the convoy, go southwest to find an open gate leading to the militarized zone. Follow the gate on the left. At the far end of the area, look for a card reader to interact with. Go inside. Interact with the satellite dish in the center of the area. As soon as you start uploading data, zombies will appear. Destroy all enemies and wait for the download to complete, after which you will receive a new task. Go back to the satellite dish and interact with it again. Chat with Rodriguez at the lifeguard tower to complete the quest.
Reward : 3500 experience points, a blueprint with a skill for firearms, an excellent rifle.
