As if Phrox wasn’t scary enough in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there’s an even tougher variant with even more HP: Obsidian Phrox. I thought I could handle one of them easily because I mastered their regular counterpart… Needless to say, I was surprised! Whether you need to find him to upgrade your armor or just want to kill him, here are all the Obsidian Frox locations in TotK.
All Obsidian Frox in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom – TotK Obsidian Frox exact map locations
Like regular Phrox in Tears of the Kingdom, Obsidian Phrox can only be found in The Depths . And that’s a good thing, because I think the people of Hyrule will never leave their homes again if these monsters roam the surface. I know I wouldn’t.
I found nine Obsidian Foxes as I explored the Depths. I have all Lightroots unlocked, so I’m pretty sure Tears of the Kingdom has them all. Check out their locations on the map below and their corresponding map coordinates :

While you can get Frox fangs from all Frox, Obsidian Frox Fangs only drop from Obsidian Frox . If you want to upgrade the Depths armor set in TotK, you will need to farm them, especially if you want to completely upgrade the armor.
The best way to farm Obsidian Frox Fangs is to follow the route from one to nine on my map above. If you still need to after this, wait until the next Blood Moon for all defeated enemies to respawn and then rinse and repeat.
