Discover the top Charisma perks in Fallout 4 and unlock the power of persuasion in the wasteland. Level up your charisma stat and dominate the post-apocalyptic world. We review all the perks available in Fallout 4’s Charisma category and rank them from worst to best.
Having a balanced character is vital in Fallout 4. It’s no use having a lot of Strength or Toughness if your Intelligence is very low, for example. That’s why you need to select the 21 SPECIAL points very carefully.
We’ve reviewed all of the Charisma perks available in Fallout 4, ranking them from worst to best in our opinion.
Party animal
It is unlocked at level 7 of Charisma, and can be upgraded up to rank 3. The Party Animal perk makes you impossible to get drunk, as it makes it impossible to become addicted to alcohol from the start .
At rank 2, any alcoholic drink will cause a double effect (for better or worse), while the maximum rank will cause your Luck to increase by +3 when under the influence of alcohol .
Dog of prey
The best perk if you have Meatball with you, even though he is not the best companion in Fallout 4. He is unlocked at level 4 , and has a maximum of three ranks .
With the Attack Dog perk, Meatball can distract enemies , causing your VATS attacks to critically hit. If you upgrade the perk to rank 2, your dog could cripple enemy limbs… or even cause bleeding (rank 3).
With the Animal Friend perk, you can appease animal enemies (such as dogs, radroaches, or mole rats) by simply aiming at them . If you upgrade it, you can even command creatures you encounter.
Wasteland Whisperer
An almost identical perk to Animal Friend, except that it allows you to control larger creatures. It is unlocked at level 9 , and can be upgraded up to three ranks .
Wasteland Whisperer will cause larger animals and creatures (such as Radscorpions and Mirelurks) to calm down when you point your weapon at them, or even obey your commands.
Lonely globetrotter
A perk that unlocks at rank 3 , and benefits players who do not bring companions on their journeys. It can be upgraded up to rank 3 , and you should make sure you are traveling alone when you activate it.
If you’re going solo, the Lone Wanderer perk (a nod to Fallout 3) will let you carry more gear and take 15% less damage as base benefits at rank 1.
Inspiring
The opposite of the Lone Wanderer perk. In this case, it benefits players who bring companions, as it generates positive effects on them. It is unlocked at level 9 and has three ranks .
With the Inspiring perk, your companion will deal more damage in combat and cannot harm you even by accident . If you upgrade it, you will get a higher carrying capacity and it will not take any damage from your attacks.
Don Juan / Black Widow
Depending on whether your character is male or female, you can get one of two perks starting at level 2 , and upgrade them up to three ranks . The Lady Juan perk is exclusive to the male protagonist, and Black Widow is exclusive to the female protagonist.
If you activate one of the two perks (whichever applies to you), characters of the opposite gender will take more damage from your attacks, and you will have exclusive dialogue options (through persuasion).
Intimidation
The final Charisma perk, unlocked at level 10 . It should be the best, but we honestly think there are two that are above it. You can upgrade it up to rank 3 , and it’s very similar to Animal Friend and Wasteland Whisperer.
The difference is that Intimidation allows you to appease, control, and command humans . If a character or enemy is below your level, you can prevent them from attacking you and use them as a temporary “companion.”
Local leader
It’s a perk with only two ranks, unlocked at level 6 , but it’s a must-have. It has no effect on combat, exploration, or dialogue, but it will open up new options for your settlements.
With the Local Leader perk activated, you’ll be able to create supply lines between your Fallout 4 settlements. If you upgrade it to rank 2, you’ll be allowed to build shops .
Badge collector
In our opinion, this is the best Charisma perk in Fallout 4. It has three ranks, and you can activate it from level 1 , so any player can get it. At the first rank, Cap Collector will lower prices at shops and merchants , and raise the value of items you sell .
This will earn you more caps for any given trade. Rank 2 increases the base effect, and the maximum rank allows you to expand the purchasing capacity of a shop, if you spend 500 caps.
If there’s one thing Fallout 4 has going for it, it’s an immersive RPG world that will keep you hooked for over 100 hours . If you’re looking for a long, long-playing game, don’t hesitate to pick up Bethesda’s RPG, or any of the 20 games with 100 or more hours of content .
